Chapter 18 - The Mystery of The Stone, Horbid

"Hmm?" Alexis was confused by what the elf was saying. Even so, he took what was being said seriously. "What do you mean, Lord Eluminon?" He asked.

Raising his head from admiring the patterns, Eluminon shook his head, "This is far beyond human wisdom." He then gazed seriously at Alexis and stated, "I do not know how you are able to manifest this kind of pattern, and I do not wish to know it. But, as advice from friend to friend, tread carefully in using this. You might garner unnecessary attention."

Alexis was bewildered by Eluminon's warning. Thinking about it, he suddenly began wondering how the system manifests its work. As if knowing what he's thinking, a notification sounded.

[Host's current power is too low. Information restricted.]

Hmmm. Alexis narrowed his eyes. He had a guess, but as soon as he started to conceptualize it, another warning came from the system.

[Do not dive too deep lest you drown.]

The king shuddered at what he read. It seems that the system is preventing him from knowing too much. He could only comfort himself that he would know it sooner or later, so he could just wait until then.

Let's just hope the cat survives.

Setting that unsettling matter aside, Alexis could only respond to the elf with a nod, "I know, Lord Eluminon."

After seeing his confirmation, Eluminon looked at him intently before immediately departing. Alexis wasn't able to grasp what really happened, but right now, he really couldn't afford to dilly-dally.

Once again exuding an aura of grace and majesty, he said unto everyone, "Everyone! This house that once was a cottage shall serve as the symbol of Vinya's growth and dominance all over Habascus. There will come a time that this stone house shall become a keep, showcasing the strength of Vinya!"

"Glory to Vinya!"

"Glory!"

Soon, countless shouts and cheers erupted. Following that, a notification popped up in Alexis' mind.

[Vinya's Loyalty: 83% - 85%]

Alexis was well-pleased seeing that status. Slowly but surely, the town of Vinya is improving. It would only take a matter of time and the use of the Otherworldly Immigrants to reach the level of an actual city.

Of course, he is not rushing. There needs to be an actual plan for the city's structure. There needs to be a place of worship, an area of residence, a camp for the military force, a place for commerce activities, and so much more.

What he is planning for Vinya is beyond any person living in this world's imagination.

A plan to prosper.

As such, he needs his loyal subjects to assist him. Of course, his lovely wife too.

While the celebration is taking place in Vinya, gloom besets the hallowed halls of the Tower of Porschetta in the city of Horbid.

"It's been weeks since we sent Kerosh to subdue the village of the swines. What's taking them so long?" A rasp voice came from one of the elders seated around a white round table. Everyone within the room can be described as looking over sixty years old.

"The journey from Horbid to beyond the River Styis takes twenty or so days alone. Since we sent Kerosh's band, it will take a couple of days more. They might even already be there. It's only a matter of whether the village surrenders or it is razed to the ground." Another elder responded.

"Elder Vexin is correct." This time, the elder seated at the center-top part of the table voiced his opinion. As soon as he spoke, everyone turned silent. Slowly standing up, the same elder exuded a strong, almost righteous presence. "Kerosh's band will return. If he successfully makes the village surrender, then give him a just reward."

"If he does not, however…" As soon as he said that, a dangerous gleam glowed in his gray, cloudy eyes, "...treat it as another infidel taken care of."

"As you wish, Lord Eminence." The elders stood up and bowed as the Eminence left the room.

When the doors to the room closed behind the elder, the remaining elders began conversing amongst themselves. "Hasn't the Godmeister become more strict recently?"

"I have also noticed that. After Orantia's Revolt, the Godmeister seemed to have toned down his assimilation and purges across Habascus. It seems like he is apprehensive about something."

"Shh! How dare you say that the Representative of the Gods is apprehensive? Everything that the Godmeister is doing is judgement passed down to him by the Gods! How dare he be reluctant to follow their great will?"

"What say you, Grand Elder Vexin."

"I do not wish to presume the Godmeister's thoughts and actions." The elder called Vexin replied in a low and gravely voice. "Just follow the wishes of the Godmeister."

"Understood, Grand Elder." The elders sighed as their concerns were once again set aside. It had always been the case ever since the change with the Godmeister affected everyone in the Tower of Porschetta.

No one knew why the Godmeister changed his attitude. They could only surmise.

Meanwhile, outside the room, the venerable Godmeister they were gossiping about solemnly walked across its halls. His hunched back bore the pressure of maintaining Horbid as the most powerful village across the forest.

Looking at the once grand halls that turned dark, he murmured, "Horbid cannot avoid its prophesied fate. Our only choice now is to surrender or die fighting."

With a resigned look, his hoarse voice shouted through the heavens, "Oh Gods, help us!"

Going back to Vinya, after the long day of celebration, Alexis and Leisandra retired into their stone home. He sat at the new bed that was wide enough to fit them both, and sighed, "The times pass so swiftly. It felt as if a day just passed since I married you."

Leisandra pouted at his remark. She then replied, "It has been more than a month since our lives were woven together by the Goddess, and you still haven't given me a child to bear."

"Huh?!"
