"Wow, a wild hotty appears!"
Yang whistled, leaning back slightly to admire Jaune's striking good looks.
Ruby was stunned into a stuttering mess.
She had spoken to boys before, but none of this caliber!
He looked like a celebrity, emanating confidence and natural charm.
"Hum, Do you know who I am? Your handsomeness is not going to help you out,"
Weiss challenged, trying to regain her composure, though everyone—including Jaune—could see she was trying to avoid making direct eye contact with him.
"I don't think I'm handsome at all,"
Jaune replied honestly, his charm effortless.
He was used to his old look, after all.
"Let's go to the auditorium. The Headmaster is going to give us a speech."
Jaune then simply left them, heading straight for the auditorium.
He still didn't truly know who Weiss Schnee was, only that she shared a surname with the wealthy family of his newest client and friend, Pearl.
Weiss was left standing in stunned silence.
She let out a frustrated hum before following, complaining quietly to herself about how the most attractive boy didn't even recognize the Schnee Heiress.
"And she left. What a beautiful start,"
Yang commented dryly, stopping her attention on Weiss and locking onto Ruby instead.
Yang immediately started teasing her younger sister about how she couldn't even speak a single word to Jaune.
"You should have asked for his number, Rube."
"Y—Yang, he is too handsome! I don't think he wants to be friends with me. Maybe you have a chance!"
Ruby stammered.
Yang laughed, pulling her sister along.
They headed in the same direction as Jaune, easily finding the brightly lit auditorium.
Ozpin gave the same philosophical speech he had given in Jaune's previous life, or rather, the previous time before he died.
Jaune sighed, remembering how he had originally left the main group because Weiss was too high-maintenance and arrogant, a stark contrast to the kind gratitude of Pearl.
"I will greet them again tonight,"
Jaune decided.
He could have gone to sleep in his new shop building, but that would be a waste of an opportunity.
He wouldn't have another chance to naturally connect with them.
He hadn't been close to any of them before he "died," but he felt they would be fun to be with this time around.
Later that night, the students were gathered in the main ballroom floor, using sleeping bags.
Jaune watched the familiar scene unfold.
He saw Yang helping the timid Ruby try to speak with a girl who was reading a book in peace, clearly annoyed at being intruded upon.
Then, of course, Weiss came over and made matters worse.
"It's my time to shine again!"
Jaune said to himself, walking purposefully toward the rising argument.
"What are you girls talking about? Your voices are too loud,"
Jaune interjected, slipping smoothly between them.
Weiss turned her face to him, her anger instantly transferring.
"That is precisely my point! I am trying to sleep!"
Jaune blinked innocently.
"But, you are the loudest one here, though."
Weiss stopped dead, her face turning crimson.
She looked around herself and found that she was indeed the focus of annoyed glances from students trying to settle down for the night.
She had ruined her own complaint.
"I can't believe it. Hmph!"
Weiss hissed, before turning and storming away to find her own secluded corner to sleep in.
With Weiss gone, Ruby became a stuttering mess again, but Jaune didn't want to lose this chance.
"What are your names? I don't think I caught them earlier,"
Jaune asked genuinely, turning his focus entirely on the two sisters.
"I'm Yang Xiao-Long… and this is my little sister…"
Yang introduced herself, nudging Ruby firmly with her elbow.
"M—my name is Ruby Rose! Can I have your number!"
Ruby blurted out, skipping all the niceties in a single, desperate rush.
"Wow… there you have it, girl!"
Yang cheered, stunned by her sister's sudden courage.
Jaune immediately smiled and gave her his number.
"I hope we're on the same team. Goodnight, and see you tomorrow."
Jaune had to leave quickly because people were starting to notice the handsome boy being the center of attention.
He still didn't like being in the spotlight.
Before Jaune left, he looked over at the girl who was still reading her book, now in blessed silence.
He could see a faint bow at the back of her head twitch slightly. He was sure that she must be a Faunus, trying to hide her traits.
"See you later as well, Kitty girl,"
Jaune whispered, a playful smirk on his face, even though he hadn't gotten her name.
He was sure they would know each other soon enough.
But there was something he didn't expect.
The reading girl closed her book and discreetly followed behind him, heading in the exact same direction he was going.
She was trailing him!
