Chapter 2 - Alcatraz Island

By the way, I don't feel hungry or thirsty. I don't even feel tired. For some reason, I slept very soundly.

I was expecting to have nightmares or something, but I fell asleep the moment my head hit the pillow. I don't know if it was because I was so exhausted. Maybe there's no need to eat here.

What should I do now? Should I test my strength? I didn't get to test the physical bonus I received yesterday. I'm guessing the most effective way to test my physique will be to do push-ups.

One... two... three... Ah, I can't believe it! I managed to do about 42 push-ups. I used to struggle to even do five. Is a 20% increase in my physique really this effective?

When I think about it for a moment, it actually makes sense. It wasn't just my muscles that got stronger; my bones, even my organs, are twenty percent better than before. I believe that with a little training, I can reach a world-class level.

By the way, what are these clothes made of? They never fall apart, and they don't even hold on to dust, dirt, or sweat. I can only take them off.

It's pointless to think about all this. No matter how much I think, I won't find the answer, so I'm going to take a shower. There's no problem a good shower can't solve.

Oh, what a relief. I've collected myself and feel refreshed.

Suddenly, I started to hear a voice. As soon as I heard it, I knew it was from the "death game." I headed for the door and went outside. As I was leaving, I saw the other people. Some had tension on their faces, others had anxiety. But all of that seemed meaningless to me now. I hadn't felt this at ease since the day I was born. I feel like I've been born again.

While thinking about these things, I arrived at the center. Of course, the angel was waiting for us there.

The angel began to speak the moment I arrived.

"I will now explain the death game," the angel announced. "Today's game is 'Prison Break.' Five among you will escape from the world-famous prison on Alcatraz Island."

The moment I heard this, I couldn't believe my ears. It's estimated that only five people have ever escaped since that prison was built, and it's not even certain that those five made it; there's a chance they drowned in the sea.

How could I possibly do this?

The angel continued, "This game will last for approximately three days. During this time, you are forbidden from telling any other person about the death game. If you manage to escape within three days without being caught, you will win the game. If you fail, you will be eliminated."

"Now, before the game begins, are there any volunteers? If you play as a volunteer, you will get to draw two cards at the start of the game. Is there anyone?"

The instant I heard that, I raised my hand. I have to participate in every single game. If I don't, I'll die.

As I expected, I was the only one to raise my hand. I could feel people staring at me. There was disbelief among them. I even heard someone ask if I was crazy; despite the distance, I could hear them faintly.

The angel spoke again. "Number 66 has volunteered. We will choose only four more people. Numbers 72, 41, 18, and 5. These four have been chosen."

After the angel spoke, everything started to fade. My vision darkened, my thoughts scattered, and before I could even understand what was happening, I found myself in a prison cell.

I was in a single person prison cell. There was a metal bed, a toilet, a sink, and a small table. I could hear the cries of seagulls and smell the salty scent of the sea. There was no doubt I am in Alcatraz

It feels like there's a second system in my mind, but this one only shows the cards I own. Hmm… I have three cards. I wonder what the other two are.

[B-Rank Card: Invinsible]

You can be invisible for three minutes, but you can still make sounds, and your physical presence remains.

[C-Rank Card: Swimming Skill]

This card grants professional swimming knowledge.

Both of these cards are powerful. If I use them wisely and effectively, they could be extremely useful.

Now I have to think about the real problem: how can I escape from this prison in 3 days?

Swimming out? Forget it. Alcatraz sits 2.5 km from the mainland, the sea icy, the waves towering. Escape by water is out of the question.

I need a boat if I'm going to get out of here. But what kind of boat could I even build?

Why should I build a bot when I can just take someone else's?

Zııııııng! Zııııııng! Zııııııng!

What is this sound?

Time to count! Prison guard would shout.

I noticed the prison guard had stepped in front of the cells and started counting.

After a while, he came to the front of my prison cell.

He shouted number 42 then he passed in front of me.

After a while, the prison guard counted everyone and said there was no problem, then the doors opened one by one.

(Hello everyone, as a novice writer, I never expected my first book to be read by 1,000 people. Thank you all. I hope you'll write reviews for my book because I don't know how to write a book, and I'm open to all your suggestions 😁 )
