The hand made of rock quickly shattered, turning into tiny stones. Rayen struggled to raise her head, a fresh cut on her forehead mixing in with blood coming from her nose.
"You weren't this strong when we fought before."
Nadia's eyes looked at the broken woman, watching as struggled to get to her feet. "Truth be told, I haven't taken you seriously."
Rayen's blood dripped to the ground, cuts all over her body. Luckily, her top didn't get damaged too badly by the cuts.
She finally made it to her feet, a look of confusion taking over her facial features. "A pity then, if I knew you could use the elements like this, I would've used a different strategy", Rayen admitted.
You would've tried.", Nadia shrugged, already finding the conversation dull. "If you're done with your little tantrum, I'll place you under arrest now."
Rayen let out a loud snort. "You'll have to try harder than this to arrest me."Nadia's response was to charge forward.
Rayen, expecting that answer, swung her arm around. A black chain formed in her wrist. The end of the chain had a sharp blade as she swung it around.
Nadia titled her head to the left, the chain whipping past her check.
Rayen brought the chain back, trying to at least cut Nadia on the return. Though the attack was a failure.
Nadia jumped in the air spinning before unleashing a violent kick aimed at Rayen's head.
Rayen grabbed the chain with both hands to block the kick. Her arms were shaking from the force, but Rayen fought through.
She quickly wrapped the chain around Nadia's ankle before doing a half spin. Letting go with her right hand, allowing the chain to loosen.
Nadia's body went flying, not stopping until she hit a car. Crashing into the side of the door,
Nadia pulled herself out of the dent car door, her back slightly in pain as the car alarm blared. Nadia had to sidestep an attack before she could get her bearings.
The car split from the chain before retreating back to Rayen's outstretched hand.
"Holy shit that was a close one!"Nadia thought her body was moving on instinct as she spun around another attack. Nadia came out of the spin and threw an icicle at Rayen's face..
Rayen stomped her foot on the ground, a large mirror made of glass popped up in front of her. The icicle hit the mirror before shooting back out at Nadia with twice the force.
Nadia quickly tapped the ground with her foot, allowing summoning a giant wall. Blocking the icicle, though the force cracked the wall.
Rayne swung the chain around, breaking the wall to pieces.
Rayen felt shocked when he saw that Nadia was missing from behind the wall. Suddenly, something grabbed her throat, instantly cutting off her air supply.
Rayen tried to move her legs but found them stuck to the ground.
Nadia, in the spawn of a second, had already frozen Rayen's entire body up to her neck. Nadia, feeling the chill, stepped back, wiping the imaginary sweat from her brow.
"Alrighty, Ms. Bird, bitch, you're under arrest.", Nada told her, stepping around to the front where Rayen could see her face.
"I can't stand your fucking smug face."
Nadia tilted her head to the side. "I'm sorry, I can't understand the words you're saying over the amount of bitching you're doing right now.
"I…I.. will kill you…. O..one of these days", Rayen stuttered, her teeth cluttering together.
"We both know I'm your worst match up birdie. I figured out the secret to your techniques forever ago."
"I haven't revealed even half of the abilities I can use."
"Half the abilities I can use, shut the fuck up.", Nadia mocked getting close to Rayen's face. "All your abilities use magic based on the tattoos you have on your body, neutralizing the ink makes it so your powers weaken."
Rayen's mouth opened, then closed for a second, almost mimicking a fish trying to eat food. She let out a loud gulp as she tried to find a way to respond.
"Meh, don't need to strain yourself trying to talk your way around it. There reason during the fight I was freezing on the ground. I realize you couldn't use to many birds or teleport as often.", Nadia explained
"You..you're more observant than what I was led to believe.", Rayen admitted, doing her best to stay calm, though being stuck in ice wasn't really helping her out much.
"Not my fault you thought to challenge me without knowing my full capabilities."
At that retort, Rayen decided to remain quiet, not having the strength or desire to continue the conversation. Nadia let out a snort, but ignored Rayen for now.
Observing the street their fight had taken place in.Honestly, besides all of the cars abandoned by the owners, the giant hole in the ground, and two destroyed vehicles.
Nadia had to admit it wasn't that, thankfully, she kept her powers contained and didn't go all out.
"D…d..detective a word," Captain Drake spoke from behind.
His voice wasn't shocking to Nadia since she knew he was approaching here.
The thing that shocked her the most was the tone of voice he was using. It seemed much more humble compared to the usual haughty tone she's used too.
"Sure, what's up?"Nadia said, turning towards Captain Drake. Making her face appear more neutral to hide her thoughts.
"Have you heard from Detective Owens or Detective Murphy?"
Nadia tapped her chin with her index finger, eyes pointed to the sky as thought of the names. "Detective Owens and Murphy", She muttered to herself, racking her brain has she tried to think if she knew them.
"Gabriel and Blake", Captain Drake offered.
"Oh yeah, Gabs sent me a message a while ago before you got attacked in your car."
"Ugh don't remind me, I've never been that high up in my life."
"You've never been flying before, sir?"
Captain Drake shook his head adamantly, and his face turned pale. "I refuse to be up in the air, nope both of my feet belong on the ground."
"Hmmm I see!"
"Blah, c..c..can y..y..ou guys hurry up and get me out of this cold.", Rayen interrupted.
Nadia turned to Rayen, ignoring her gray skin. "Zip it", She said, doing zipping motions with her hands.
Rayen looked at Nadia, annoyed. Nadia playfully stuck her tongue out, causing Rayen's lips to turn into a bigger frown.
"Right…..", Captain Drake trailed off, honestly not really wanting to get into the middle of what they were dealing with.
"Oh yeah, Captain", Nadia spoke up, deciding to stop messing with Rayen as she turned back to Captain Drake. "What should we do about the bitch stuck in the block of ice?"
"F..ff..ffuck you!", Rayen growled.
"Up yours princess!", Nadia shot back
"If I wasn't trapped in this block of ice I would-"
"Quiet!", Captain Drake demanded, crossing his arms over each other. Glaring at the two women in front of him. "As a detective in my police department I expect better of you!"
"Yes, Sir", Nadia said for once in her expression series as she stared back at Captain Drake.
Captain Drake held Nadia's gaze, doing his best to show how serious he is. He then turned his gaze towards Rayen. "We can go get my phone out of the car, and make a call to Church to send out a team to pick her up."
"Ahhh about that; Church had most of its members killed on Saturday."
"What?"
"Yeah, I thought Blake would've reported it to you but someone came and wiped out the majority of the members. Leaving very few alive."
"Fucking Blake", Captain Drake muttered under his breath his as he tried to calm himself. "No wonder he asked me for more officers instead of them for the raid today."
"You dumbasses", Rayen chuckled
The sound irritated Nadia's ear as she turned and glared at her. "You shut the hell up before in case your head is ice too."
"Go ahead, by the time you realize you've been duped it'll be too late."
"What do you mean by that?"Nadia growled her fist curling, stepping closer to Rayen's face.
"Oh man you really are the dumb one!"
Nadia raised her fist, but was pulled back by a strong grip on her hand. Nadia looked up and saw Captain Drake's facial expression. "Explain!", was all he said as he glared at her.
"Tic, tok, any second the clock will stop!"Rayen sang with a huge smile on her face.
Nadia wanted to speak, but at that very amount the ground shook heavily. The shockwave was strong as glass in the surrounding buildings broke.
In this distance, multiple buildings began to fall down. A smoke feeling the air with the sound of people screaming loud in the distance.
"What the fuck did you do!" Nadia screamed, breaking the hold on arm her purple aura began forming around her.
"Instead of worrying about me, maybe you should think about your little boy toy. What his name, ahh yes Gabriel.", Rayen smirked, her sharp teeth showing. "I'm sure you wouldn't want him to be caught up in the explosion.
Nadia's expression changed going through different emotions before settling on anger. She quickly stomped her foot on the ground summoning a bunch of hands made out of stone to grab the block of ice.
She tuned any background noise as she shot of into the air, turning into an almost black like smoke. Leaving Rayen and Captain Drake behind on the ground.
