Chapter 481 - Chapter 482: A Small House on the Beach in Malaysia

Beside an unremarkable beach in Kuantan, Malaysia.

Nanami sat in front of a wooden hut, dressed in light beachwear.

The hut was small, but despite its size, it had everything one could need.

Inside, a delicate bookshelf held many books that looked as though they had been bought long ago but rarely opened.

At that moment, Nanami was sitting at a small table outside the hut, carefully reading one of them.

These were all books Nanami had bought to read at home in the past.

However, due to work, self-discipline, and various other reasons, he had barely opened most of them.

Now, he could finally escape the hustle and bustle of the big city, stay far away from a world of mutual curses, and quietly experience a life that belonged solely to him.

"Hey! Nami~"

Suddenly, a familiar voice came from afar.

"Am I hallucinating because I've been away too long?"

Nanami looked up at the sea. Finding nothing there, he chuckled self-deprecatingly.

I wonder how they're doing now? With the senpais around, I shouldn't have to worry.

Nanami stopped thinking about it and continued turning the pages of his book, carefully absorbing every word.

This kind of peace was something he had rarely experienced in the past.

"Nanami, I'm here!"

Another voice came. This one was even more familiar.

"Haibara?"

Nanami looked up, searching for the source of the voice. Just as he was wondering, several disheveled figures suddenly flew out of his shadow.

"Uwah, why did we fly out? How are we supposed to scare Nanami now?"

Yuji rubbed his backside and complained to Megumi beside him.

"It's because all of you suddenly piled on! Senpai Haibara alone is already heavy enough. Were you trying to kill me by adding yourselves too?"

Megumi immediately retorted.

The cause of the incident was that Haibara had noticed Nanami could not find them while they were camouflaged in the sky, so he wanted to scare him.

Then Yuji suggested that Megumi use his shadow to bring Haibara behind Nanami.

Megumi, who thought the act was a bit childish, initially wanted to refuse, but he could not resist the pleading of his two close friends and eventually agreed.

However, he thought he only needed to bring Haibara alone through Nanami's shadow. He had not expected Yuji and Nobara to cling to him as well.

Because the weight of those entering the shadow would be transferred to Megumi, the caster, the unprepared Megumi was nearly crushed into the depths of the shadow.

On top of that, there was no air inside the shadow, and they could only barely breathe through a small opening Megumi created. So, to keep all four of them from suffocating, he had no choice but to quickly bring everyone back to the surface and out of the shadow.

In the end, all four of them flew out of Nanami's shadow.

"But I really wanted to see Nanami's startled expression!"

Yuji touched the tips of his index fingers together in front of his chest, his eyes brimming with tears. His aggrieved look made people want to comfort him.

"Exactly, exactly. Yuji didn't do anything wrong."

Nobara immediately patted Yuji's head and comforted him.

"...How could Senpai Nanami possibly be scared?"

Megumi helplessly rubbed his forehead.

"Haha, Nanami got scared plenty of times when we were in school, you know."

Haibara, who had somehow started calling him Nanami, suddenly popped out and said.

"Really?" x3

"Really. It was back when we were first-years. Nanami was first scared by Senpai Gojo, and later Senpai Eichi and Senpai Geto joined in too. I heard they were competing to see who could scare him the most times in a single day.

In the end, when Nanami found out the truth, he was so angry that he didn't speak to the senpais for a whole month."

Haibara held up a finger and smiled as he shared their school anecdotes with everyone.

"Enough. That never happened!"

After watching with the corner of his mouth twitching for a long while, Nanami finally could not sit still anymore.

"Puhaha, so even the mature and steady Nanami had moments like that!"

Yuji laughed, clutching his stomach and slapping his thigh as he imagined Nanami adorably sulking.

After a round of nostalgic and headache-inducing banter, Nanami had no choice but to pick up a machete and demonstrate the craft he had recently learned.

Hand-carving wooden stools.

"So sturdy! As expected of Nanami, you really can do anything!"

Yuji bounced twice on the wooden stool and looked at him with admiration.

"That's enough. What exactly are you here for?"

Nanami felt tired for the first time in a long while, but at the same time, a strange emotion welled up inside him.

"Hi, over here, over here."

Yuji immediately raised his right hand, gesturing like a student eager to answer.

"Then, student Yuji will answer."

Nanami suddenly felt that playing along just this once was not so bad.

"Because there are still half a month left of summer vacation, and after discussing it for a while, everyone unanimously decided to come and play with you."

"Is that so.

Since it's a rare opportunity, let's all relax together."

Kuantan is the capital of Pahang, Malaysia, and the largest city on the east coast of West Malaysia.

Most importantly, the city's tourism industry is very developed.

Waterfalls, beaches, deer parks, suspension bridges, mine tunnels, museums, art galleries, water parks, lakes, and even some Daoist and Buddhist attractions.

"What do you all want to do?"

Nanami changed his shoes, walked to the front of the group, and asked.

"It's so hot now. Let's go surfing."

Haibara suggested.

"Hmm, there are surfboard rental shops on the west beach. Follow me."

"No need. There are surfboards on the boat. Let's go buy swimsuits first."

"Boat?"

Nanami looked at Haibara in surprise.

"Ah, I forgot to mention it. We came on Heroic Spirit Film's boat.

They're filming a few summer skits with the Heroic Spirits here for promotion, and we can use that boat as we please before it heads back."

Haibara gave a thumbs-up, a gleam flashing off his pearly white teeth.

"...Then you lead the way."

Over the next half month, everyone explored all of Kuantan, finally parting with Nanami reluctantly.

"Wuwuwu, I don't want to go to school. Nanami, please take me in."

Yuji said while hugging Nanami's leg.

"I refuse. You're still a child, and going to school is what you should be doing."

Nanami refused without mercy.

"Nanami, remember to come see me when you get back!"

In the end, Yuji was dragged onto the boat by Megumi and Nobara, each pulling one of his legs.

"Senpai Nanami's vacation ends in 34 days. Do you really need to be like this?"

Megumi complained.

"I can't believe someone could accumulate 79 days of vacation. Senpai Nanami wouldn't happen to be a legendary workaholic, would he?"

Nobara was also speechless.

After the reform of the Jujutsu World, a corresponding vacation system also began to be established.

However, because the reform had only just been completed, there were still many details that needed to be filled in and adjusted. On top of that, Nanami wanted to build up enough retirement savings early, so he had been working overtime.

In the end, he accumulated 79 days of vacation and was finally thrown by Eichi to Malaysia, the retirement destination he had longed for.

Nanami, forced into vacation: ...
