My head was bent low, focused on the ground as I ran over across the lawn towards the entrance of the school's hallway.
I was almost there when suddenly, two guys came to stand in front of me. I hadn't seen them but it was obvious with the way they carried themselves that they were on the team...my teammates.
One was shorter than the other. "Hey." The shorter one called, gesturing to me with his chin.
I simply grimaced in response. I wasn't really in a good mood.
"What's up with your hand bro?" The taller one who talked and looked like a hipster asked.
I looked down at my bandaged fist and then back up at them. "What's up with you?" I retorted rudely with my deep baritone and placed my hand with the bandage inside my pocket.
They shared knowing looks like they had anticipated my reaction and my attitude which was beyond sour this morning.
"Anyways, the coach wants to meet with you." The tall one said.
