Chapter 4 - The Abyssal Tomb of Chi You

The sea pressed down like the weight of a mountain.

Polyfalls sank, eyes unblinking, the cold biting through flesh and spirit alike. Each heartbeat sounded farther away—until he could no longer tell if it was his own or the sea's.

Then the darkness opened its eyes.

A glow the color of a dying sun lit the deep. Scales as vast as temples rippled in the murk; an ancient presence stirred.

The Abyssal Demon Whale, guardian of the forgotten tomb.

Abyssal Demon Whale (Guardian of Chi You's Tomb)

When Chi You fell during the War of the Heavens, a fragment of his demonic blood sank into the deepest ocean trench. From that blood and the essence of the sea itself, the first Abyssal Demon Whale was born—a creature meant to carry Chi You's will and guard the tomb that sealed his divine remnants.

It is both a beast and a spirit, existing partly in the physical sea and partly in the Abyssal Realm of souls. Its mere presence distorts water, Qi, and even sound.

The colossal—miles long when fully manifested.

Its skin is the color of storm-black obsidian, etched with living crimson runes that pulse like veins.

One eye glows abyss-red, the other abyss-blue, symbolizing life and death, calm and destruction.

When it breathes, the surrounding sea forms whirlpools that lead to miniature voids.

It abilities are the Abyssal Domain.

The whale can create a domain within any body of water, called the Silent Abyss.

Inside this domain.

Time slows for intruders.

Sound and light vanish.

It can are manipulate the pressure and flow to crush, bind, or hide anything.

The domain also links directly to the entrance of Chi You's tomb.

Blood-Oath Resonance

Through ancient bloodlines, it can sense the aura of Chi You's successors.

When Polyfalls forms the blood pact, this ability allows the whale to share vitality and Qi with him across distances. It becomes his spiritual anchor in the sea — should he ever fall into the ocean, the abyss itself will protect him.

Voice of the Deep

The whale's roar is a spiritual shockwave that attacks both body and soul.

Legends say an army of cultivators once tried to plunder the abyss — their bodies remained untouched, but their minds shattered into silence.

Soul Tide (Seventh-Rank Secret Art)

It can summon the memories and spirits of those who have died in water.

This allows it to conjure phantoms of fallen warriors, using them to test or attack intruders.

After the blood pact, Polyfalls can one day inherit a lesser form of this technique, calling forth spirits bound by his own bloodline.

Abyssal Heart (Core Ability)

At the center of its being lies the Abyssal Heart, a crystalline organ that acts as both a core and a gate to demonic energy.

It fuels regeneration and near-immortality.

When it shares the heart's fragment with Polyfalls, it gives him the ability to breathe and cultivate underwater, draw demonic Qi from darkness, and slightly manipulate pressure and gravity.

The whale is ancient, wise, and emotionless on the surface — yet bound by a lingering loyalty to Chi You.

If Polyfalls is able to subdue, it will becomes a silent mentor-guardian, communicating through echoes in dreams and storms.

It respects strength above all, so its guidance often comes as trials rather than spoken advice.

So will Polyfalls be able to defy fate and subdue the beast?

The beast voice echoed:

"Another mortal dares trespass the domain of my master,"

the whale's voice rolled like thunder through water.

"Speak, child. What do you seek beneath the world's bones?"

Polyfalls' voice did not tremble.

"Power. The kind that never bows again."

The whale's gaze lingered. "Then pay its price."

A column of black light wrapped around him. Blood seeped from every pore, forming a crimson halo. The whale opened its jaw, and the vortex dragged him into a world beneath the world.

The Tomb Beneath the Sea

He stood upon an altar carved of black jade, veined with molten crimson. Eight pillars encircled him, each etched with ancient sigils that bled faint light. Between them floated a statue—half man, half beast, crowned with horns of iron.

When the whale's colossal shadow appeared behind him, Polyfalls finally understood: the guardian bowed, not to him, but to that statue.

"This is the resting place of Chi You, the Demon God of War," the whale rumbled.

"He once ruled the Hundred Tribes before Heaven's armies cast him down. His soul refused to fade, binding me as warden until his heir would come."

The statue's eyes ignited.

A voice older than the oceans seeped into Polyfalls' mind.

"So… the heavens still birth men who refuse to kneel."

The air thickened with a pressure that could crush mountains. Polyfalls' consciousness was wrenched from his body and pulled inward—into his Inner World.

The Inner World of Blood and Darkness

An endless sea of blood stretched beneath a storm of black clouds. At its center stood a throne forged from countless weapons, and upon it sat a tall figure wreathed in mist—the spiritual form of Chi You.

His voice echoed with both cruelty and pride.

"I am Chi You, the butcher of gods, the bane of the Yellow Emperor. When the heavens struck me down, I scattered my will across the abyss, waiting for one whose hatred burned brighter than the sun."

Polyfalls met that burning gaze, steel-faced, unflinching.

"Then your wait ends."

Chi You laughed—a deep, ancient sound that shook the crimson sea.

"Then take what is mine, heir of wrath. Three paths await you, forged from my own flesh and soul."

The Three Techniques of the Path of Blood and Darkness

Blood Devour Art (初章)

The foundation. Allows its wielder to absorb the vitality and Qi of slain foes, refining it into pure demonic essence. The danger: excess hunger twists the heart—those who overfeed lose themselves to madness.

Abyssal Bone Forging (中章)

Using the essence of beasts or demons, the practitioner tempers bones until they become demonic relics. Each layer grants monstrous strength and resilience; failure, however, shatters the body from within.

Soul of Ten Thousand Wars (終章)

The ultimate art of Chi You himself. Through it, one fuses the will of slain enemies into the soul, forging a battle-spirit that can defy heavenly tribulation. Few can even glimpse its first stage without their mind collapsing.

"These three form the spine of the Path of Blood and Darkness," Chi You intoned.

"But know this—each step demands sacrifice. Strength is the language of demons; speak it, or be silenced forever."

Polyfalls bowed his head, crimson aura flickering.

"Then I'll speak it louder than any god."

The Blood Pact

Chi You's shadow raised its hand.

The Abyssal Whale reappeared, its body half within the inner world. A single drop of its ancient blood floated between them—black, heavy, pulsing with abyssal energy.

"To guard you, to temper you, I bind you with my blood," the whale declared.

"Until you surpass my master, your heart and mine will share one tide."

Polyfalls bit his thumb; his blood mingled with the whale's drop, forming a sigil that blazed across his chest—the Pact of the Abyss.

Power surged through him like a storm. The red sea howled, the throne trembled, and Chi You's laughter thundered across his soul.

"Go, child. Carry my will. Let heaven remember the fear of Chi You's name."

The light dimmed; the sea faded. When Polyfalls opened his eyes, he was back in the real abyss, kneeling before the still-watching whale. Around him, the ocean obeyed his breathing.

The whale's massive eye flickered.

"From now on, the abyss itself shall answer your call, Master of Blood."

Polyfalls rose. His gaze was calm, his face like steel. The crimson mark on his chest pulsed once—then stilled.

"Chi You…" he whispered. "The world will remember."
