Raven POV:
The way he said it… almost like he was savoring the moment. A flash of something I couldn't quite place danced in his gaze. Maybe it was just amusement. Maybe it was something darker. But I didn't have time to figure it out now.
"What do you want from me?" I asked, the words slipping out before I could stop them. "You want to play pretend with me, make this work for the crowd?"
"Maybe I do," Tyler said, and there was something about the way his voice dropped, something low and dangerous that made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. "But we both know what I want most."
I didn't flinch. I wouldn't.
Instead, I smirked and leaned in just slightly. "Just so we're clear, you don't get to control me. Not that I'm worried."
His smile widened, and I couldn't help but notice the faint glint of something predatory in his eyes. "We'll see about that, Raven. We'll see."
