"Where are we going?" Emily asked after her husband ushered her out of the door and through the busy street, leaving their car in the diner's parking lot.
" Now, she understood why he had told her to wear her reliable sneakers as they navigated through the swarm of people going to and fro, on their way home, on a night shift at work, or on a late night out.
"Are you up for an adventure?" Her husband waved his hand as if he were acting a scene from one of his fantasy movies. "Come on, let's explore the city together."
Emily had to admit she was having second thoughts. What if somebody recognized them? Truthfully, she was afraid for his safety. She didn't mind her. She was capable of taking care of herself.
Nonetheless, did she have the willpower to refuse such a tempting offer, especially when he was putting on all his charms?
Of course, not.
Keeping her head low and her face hidden underneath the brim of her hat, she followed the lead of her husband.
