"Whoa!"
William's voice reached his ears before he even noticed his presence.
With his hands full and his concentration on his task, Nolan didn't hear his friend come in. But he was not anticipating his visit either.
Nonetheless, it was not surprising that his friend dropped by. William usually did, to check on him, especially if he suddenly dropped everything unexpectedly. Just like not going to work today, despite having a very tight schedule.
"What's all this?" William walked straight to the counter and began to snoop around, intrigued by his friend's unusual behavior. Instead of a black suit and a phone in his hand, he found his friend in his old apron again, busily sweating in front of a hot stove.
Staring at his friend with those inquisitive eyes, he picked up an egg on the tray and juggled it in one hand. "This is the second time I have seen you slaving in the kitchen like this in like..." He paused as if his brain was calculating something. "...forever."
