After Daiki his participation trial, he and Yuzuru went back to the village to find a job for her. The streets were full spirit as always. There were voices coming from everywhere, merchants yelling prices, and the smell of grilled food hanging in the air.
They spent hours looking around, checking every place they could find. From food stalls to shops, nothing really caught Yuzuru's eye. Every job was either too boring, too dirty, or just didn't feel right to her.
By the time the sun started setting, Daiki was already half asleep on his feet.''We have been walking all day,'' he sighed. ''Can't we just come back tomorrow?''
Yuzuru sighed, brushing her hair back. ''It's not my fault everything here is just cooking or cleaning.''
Daiki smirked. ''What, were you hoping for a princess job instead.''
She gave him a glare. ''Idiot.''
They kept walking quietly for a bit. Then Yuzuru suddenly stopped. Daiki turned around. ''What is it now,''
She was staring at a small shop across the street. It was a simple little place with a wooden sign that read Healing & Remedies. Inside, lights glowed behind rows of bottles and herbs.
''I want to check that place out,'' Yuzuru said pointing to the shop.
Daiki blinked confused. ''A medic shop? I didn't think you were into stuff like that.''
Yuzuru nodded. ''I don't really know...it just feels right.''
Daiki smiled. ''Then let's go check it out.''
Together they stepped inside.
When Daiki stepped inside he got hit by the smell of something sweet in the air. Wooden shelves covered the walls, filled with bottles of all shapes and colors. Some of them were bubbling and glowing with a faint light.
They walked up to the counter in the middle where a woman was looking through a few vials. She looked up and smiled upon seeing Daiki and Yuzuru enter.
Yuzuru stepped forward towards the woman. ''Um...what kind of place is this, and are you guys maybe...hiring?''
The woman smiled. ''This is the village's medic shop. We make and study potions---healing ones, magic boosters, things like that. We are also in charge for looking after the village knights if they get hurt.''
Yuzuru nodded slowly, her eyes observing the shelves. ''So it's about medicine and magic?''
''Exactly,'' the woman said. ''We even teach simple healing lessons for beginners. People can't use magic until they turn fifteen, so we start with the basics first.''
Daiki looked at Yuzuru and smirked. ''Guess you're a bit early then,''
She frowned and crossed her arms. ''Shut up''
The woman laughed softly. ''You're welcome to come by and watch, though. It's good to learn early on.''
