Akatsuki sat in his classroom, staring blankly at the teacher as he droned on about algebra. The numbers on the board blurred together, and he felt his mind wander.
He was looking forward to going home, maybe catch up on some anime episodes or play some games with his friends online. And maybe, just maybe, he'd get to see Sophia, his girlfriend, after school.
The sound of the bell ringing jolted him back to reality. "Time to go home, class," the teacher said, packing up his things.
Akatsuki gathered his stuff and headed out of the classroom, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. As he stepped into the hallway, he was greeted by the usual chaos of students rushing to their lockers or saying goodbye to friends.
That's when he saw her. Sophia, his girlfriend, kissing another guy in the hallway.
Akatsuki's heart sank, and he felt like he'd been punched in the gut. He stood there, frozen, as the world around him came crashing down.
He couldn't look away, his eyes fixed on the two of them, oblivious to everything else. The pain was like nothing he'd ever felt before.
Finally, Sophia pulled away, laughing, and Akatsuki turned and walked away, his head spinning. He didn't know where he was going, he just knew he had to get out of there.
He walked home, his feet carrying him on autopilot as his mind replayed the scene over and over. He couldn't believe it. Sophia, the girl he loved, had been cheating on him.
When he got home, he dropped onto his bed, feeling drained. He didn't want to think about it, didn't want to feel the pain. He just wanted to sleep.
As he drifted off, he thought of lilly, his childhood friend. He was the one person who could make him smile, even on his worst days. But he was gone, moved away years ago.
In his dream, lilly stood beside him, Her bright smile and piercing blue eyes a stark contrast to the pain he felt. And lilly said"I'll be back," she whispered, her voice like a gentle breeze.
Akatsuki woke up with a start, rubbing his eyes. "That dream again," he muttered, feeling a mix of emotions. He lay there, lost in thought, wondering why he kept dreaming about Yuri. It was 3:am in the morning
. He couldn't sleep, and he couldn't shake the feeling of betrayal and hurt. He needed a distraction, something to take his mind off Sophia and the pain she had caused him.
He reached for his laptop, hoping to lose himself in the world of gaming or videos. As he opened it, the screen flickered to life, and he saw that he had a message.
He clicked on the notification, and his email inbox popped up.
There was a message from an email address he didn't recognize, with the username "Kia". He opened it, and a chat window appeared
"Hey Akatsuki, it's me, Your childhood friend. I've been thinking about you lately, and I wanted to catch up. Let's meet up?"
Akatsuki's skepticism kicked in, and he snorted.and said to himself Scammers are everywhere this days, and he was he said to himself and I'm not gonna fall for it. He typed out a quick reply, his fingers typing across the keyboard. "Stop scamming people, dude. I don't know who you are, but leave me alone."
The response came back almost immediately. "Okay, if you don't believe me, I'll just come to your house. You're living with your aunt, right? I remember you telling me that."
Akatsuki's eyes narrowed. How did this person know that? He was about to type out a furious reply when he remembered his aunt's warnings about scammers trying to get personal info. He quickly blocked the email address and closed his laptop, his heart pounding slightly.
He tried to push the incident out of his mind, focusing instead on the ache in his chest. Sophia's betrayal still stung, and he didn't need some scammer making things worse. He shook his head, telling himself he was just being paranoid, and went back to browsing mindlessly, trying to escape his thoughts.
Akatsuki hadn't stepped foot in school for a week, and his aunt was getting worried. She kept checking on him, bringing him food, and trying to get him to talk, but he just wasn't having it 🤕.
Finally, after days of coaxing, his aunt Maria managed to persuade Akatsuki to get out of bed and go back to school 😴. He dragged himself out of the house, looking like he hadn't slept in weeks 👀. His eyes were sunken, and his skin was pale. He just wanted to get the day over with 🤯.
As he walked into the school, whispers started 🗣️. "Look, it's the loser," someone snickered 🤣. "He actually thought sophia loved him," another voice chimed in with that face its impossible for him to find a girlfriend 💔. Akatsuki felt like he'd been punched in the gut all over again 🤕. He kept his head down, trying to ignore the stares and the snickers 🙅♂️.
He made it through the day, somehow, but he was counting down the minutes until dismissal 🕰️. As soon as the bell rang, Akatsuki was out of there, heading straight home 🏃♂️. He just wanted to crawl back into bed and hide under the covers 🛋️.
For a month, Akatsuki was always like that and everytime he got home he barely left his room, and when he did, it was only to grab food or do the bare minimum. His aunt was worried sick about him, but nothing seemed to be able to snap him out of it 😔.
One day, he ordered a new game 🎮. He was excited, and it was the first time in weeks that he had felt a spark of enthusiasm 🔥.
The next day, the doorbell rang, and aunt Maria called out, "Akatsuki, dear, someone's looking for you!"
Akatsuki's heart sank. Who could it be? He wasn't expecting anyone 🤔. He got up, expecting to find the delivery guy with his new game 📦.
But when he opened the door, he was face to face with lilly 😱. Or, at least, he thought it was just a stranger. He didn't recognize her at first, and just handed her the money without noticing that it wasn't the delivery and just said, "Thanks, here's the payment."
Yuri looked confused 🤷♀️. "What's this?" she asked, holding up the cash 💸.
Akatsuki's eyes widened as he realized his mistake . "shit... who are you?" he stammered, his face burning with embarrassment
Lilly replied, "I told you it's me. I knew you wouldn't believe it, so I came here."
Akatsuki's Aunt: "Who's this beautiful lady? Your girlfriend?"
The two, Akatsuki and Yuri, blushed.
Akatsuki was annoyed and said: "SHE'S NOT MY GIRLFRIEND. WE'RE NOT EVEN FRIENDS. I DONT KNOW HER."
Aunt: "Come on, Akatsuki, don't be so harsh on her. She came all the way here just for you. It's normal to have arguments when you're in a relationship."
Akatsuki: "I told you, we don't have any relationship."
Aunt: "Oh, by the way, what's your name, dear?" Asking lilly
Lilly: My names Lilly. It's nice to meet you ma'am."
Aunt: "It's a bit cold outside. Why don't you come in and have a seat lets talk inside.
Lilly: "Thanks for inviting me in, ma'am.
Lilly sat down and Akatsuki's mother spoke first
Aunt:Don't mind him, dear. He might always be like that, but deep inside, he loves you so much."
Aunt:And don't be so formal dear, just call me Mother."
Lilly: "I wouldn't dare."
Aunt: "No, it's totally fine, dear. Besides, you're his girlfriend."
Aunt: "Oh, by the way, can I ask how long the two of you have been together?"
Lilly: "We're not actually going out together. I'm just a childhood friend. I left this country when was 7. And I just returned from Japan."
Aunt: "Well, you never know. Just like they always say, love is unexpected. You can't predict the future."
Lilly giggles and feels a little embarrassed.
Aunt: "Oh, sweetie, I need to do something. Just make yourself at home, and also, you can just go to him. It's been days since he's been feeling so down lately."
Yuri nods and says, "Okay." Lilly goes upstairs. Then she stops at the front of the door, having some thoughts, hesitating to open the door. What should I do? Should I knock or should I just go in? No, I shouldn't.
I think it's not appropriate for a girl to go into a boy's room.
Then, suddenly, the door opens, and they bump into each other. Akatsuki gets on top of Yuri, and then... 😏
Akatsuki and Lilly blushed.
In the moment of silence, Lilly speaks first,
Lilly:"Aww, my head hurts."
Akatsuki says, "Why were you in front of my door in the first place?"
Yuri panicked and yelled, "I'm just here because I'm worried about you!"
Akatsuki blushed, and so did lilly.
Shina, Akatsuki's cousin, who was walking up the stairs, was shocked. She exclaimed, "Eww, what are you guys doing? You shouldn't do that in the middle of the stairs!"
Lilly and Akatsuki stood up immediately, blushing furiously.
Shina ran to her room, looking mad.
Akatsuki thought, "What's her problem?"
While Lilly was panicking, thinking, "What should I say?"
Akatsuki suddenly spoke up first and said, "I'm totally fine, so can you go now?"
Lilly said, "Why are you acting like that? You weren't like this. You've changed."
Akatsuki replied, "I didn't change. A lot of things just changed me."
Akatsuki walked past Lilly.
But Lilly was so determined. She held Akatsuki's hand tight and said, "But what about your promise? I did mine."
