Winter was utterly lost. He had no idea what he just learned meant, all he knew was that it was of utmost importance to figure it out before the Soul Curse decided to thrust him into the Soulrealm...
Now that Winter had gained some insight on his... "origin" he had to figure out what kind of powers he had unlocked.
He shook off the lingering shock and concentrated on the runes of [Ice conduit]. His first ability. And when he did, a new line of runes shimmered below:
[Description:]
[The eternal cold of the Frostborn, channeled throughout space, condensing and freezing the moisture in the air, allowing one to harness the power of ice, seemingly... from out thin air.]
Winter's eyes widened as he realized the implications of the first ability, if he mastered it, the possibilities would be endless.
"Yesss!" He shouted.
'I won't be the same weakling anymore...'
'With this I could manifest ice from out of thin air!'
'armor, weapons, tools... the only limit is my imagination!'
After rejoicing in the incredible usefulness of his first abilities, he calmed down, forcing himself to think straight.
The [Ice conduit] ability might have been useful, but he had only just ascended, so he would not be able to use it to its full extent.
what's more, after ascending he could feel Cold energy pulsed beneath his skin, faint but alive, answering his will.
But the possibilities were there.
'It would be disrespectful to the Frostborn, or whatever it is, to not make use of such an awesome power!' He thought.
But then, he suddenly felt a huge tremor spreading throughout the desolate void, and the Soul Curse spoke once again.
[Aspirant, prepare for your ascent to the heavens...]
The words echoed in his mind like thunder. Then the void shattered and a huge frozen landscape came into view...
Winter was temporarily mesmerized by the beauty of it all, until he realized that he was currently falling down to his doom...
***
Winter was falling through the sky at an incredible pace, he could feel the wind caressing his skin, oh and he was butt naked...
"Of course..." He sighed wistfully.
He was still high up in the air, and if he was lucky, his fall would be broken by the thick layer of snow, but he did not dare to count on his luck, ever.
'The unluckiest person in the world... two worlds now!'
'What an achievement.'
After cursing his luck, he decided to make use of the rare opportunity to take a look at his surroundings. He was surrounded by a snowy field with many undulating slopes, some bigger than the others, and many icy spikes rising out of the snow. He noticed some ancient structures that reminded him of the Ruins somewhere in the distance.
'So there were civilizations in the Soulrealm?'
'Makes sense, I guess.'
Though the structures were abandoned and seemed to be lifeless, he did not want to get close enough to find out.
'I'm sick of these Ruins.' He thought with contempt.
There was also a chain of mountains somewhere in the distance, obscured by a thick hazy fog.
After noting certain landmarks, he turned to look behind him and in the distance he saw something extremely unsettling...
He could not place his finger on it but what he saw in the distance made his intuition scream to stay away.
There was a large sphere of ice hanging in the air, held in place by many thorny chains that seemed too big to break, the sphere emanated a faint and ghostly light like that of an aurora and was monumentally big.
'How do you even build something like that?'
'you would need the might of god!... don't tell me...'
Indeed, the monumentally big structure, having a bigger diameter than the Ruins he had spent his entire life, seemed too big to have been built by mere mortal souls.
"Scary..."
And after Winter had plummeted down long enough for the eerie monument to dissipate from view, he looked down and gulped, knowing that if the layer of snow was too thin he would be squashed flat like a fly on the spot.
He braced himself and closed his eyes...
And felt something soft caress his skin after falling through the snow.
