Chapter 40 - Baby Oopsie Bags and “Uh-Oh” Candy

Arthur stepped into his classroom.

Greeting familiar classmates here and there, or nodding back to others, he made his way to the back row.

He sat down at the King's Homeland seat.

While pulling out his textbooks, he lowered his voice to greet the person in front of him:

"Good morning, Kato-san."

His front-desk classmate was Megumi Kato—

the "supporting character heroine" of Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend.

A girl with refined features, flawless skin, and striking beauty—yet with the exact opposite of a strong presence.

At a glance, she seemed so ordinary that she would be overlooked in any crowd.

But upon closer look, she was undeniably the cute type.

Her expression was usually calm, giving the impression of someone composed.

Even now, more than half a month into the school term, Megumi Kato still hadn't made any friends in class.

She was one of the "lone wolves."

"…"

Hearing a voice from behind, Megumi paused, slightly startled.

Her eyes flickered, a trace of surprise flashing by—but her calm face didn't change much.

Unless one stared intently, it would have been impossible to notice that fleeting surprise between her brows.

She blinked lightly, then turned around to look at Arthur.

"Good morning, Arthur-kun."

Her tone was soft, calm, carrying a faintly gentle texture.

Though her face stayed composed, her thoughts stirred—

because this was the second time Arthur had spoken to her first.

The first was on the opening day of school, right after introductions.

He'd quietly greeted her once.

But just once.

After that, she noticed he seemed to overlook her existence like everyone else.

So they never interacted again.

She hadn't expected him to greet her again today—

and remember her name, no less.

That surprised her.

Their eyes met briefly, and Arthur smiled faintly.

Ripples stirred in her calm gaze before she turned back around, resuming her book.

Arthur took out Mafuyu Kirisu's notes and began studying.

Time slipped by quietly.

Meanwhile, in Class 1-F—

Yurikawa Hana walked straight to Yotsuya Miko, staring hard at her with knitted brows and a stunned look.

"Miko, did you… get prettier?!"

As her closest friend, Hana immediately noticed something different about her today.

The faint dark circles under her eyes were gone.

Her skin glowed with a rosy radiance, her whole presence vibrant and refreshed.

It was like she had become a new person.

"Eh? Really?"

Feigning confusion, Miko tilted her head, though she knew full well the reason.

"Definitely!" Hana nodded firmly.

Miko smiled gently. "Maybe it's because I slept really well last night."

"So I look a bit different today."

"…Is that so?" Hana blinked, half-believing, half-doubting.

Maybe that was true—she knew Miko hadn't been sleeping well lately, even to the point of having dark circles.

Now those are gone.

So yes, her sleep must have been excellent.

"Must be it." Miko nodded with a calm smile.

But as soon as she mentioned last night, she suddenly realized something—

something very important.

She had been… finished inside.

The memories of last night were blurry, but she was sure Arthur hadn't used a baby oopsie bag.

And it had… overflowed.

Oh god. That meant… pregnancy was possible?!

She definitely wasn't ready to waddle around with a big belly!

Panic rose in her chest.

She even had the urge to rush to a pharmacy to buy some "Uh-Oh Candy" emergency pills.

Her hand drifted instinctively to her stomach, brushing over the faint sigil of the bond she now shared as Arthur's consort.

"Miko, what's wrong?"

Noticing her sudden blush and frown, Hana looked utterly confused.

"It's nothing."

Miko forced herself to calm down, shaking her head while burying her complicated emotions.

"…Okay then."

Though still suspicious, Hana didn't press further and went back to her seat.

The moment she left, Miko hurriedly whipped out her phone and messaged Arthur.

Elsewhere, in Class 1-C—

Arthur felt his phone buzz and checked it.

"Arthur, we didn't use any protection last night. If I buy medicine after school, will it still work?"

Clearly, Miko wasn't very experienced with such matters.

Sensing her anxiety, Arthur chuckled softly and typed back:

"Relax, Miko. I already took care of it last night. Nothing will happen, don't worry."

He wasn't planning on having children right now.

At the moment of climax, he had used the Force to completely render his "legions" inert.

He had even drained ninety-nine percent of their vitality.

What Miko had received was nothing dangerous—just a nutrient-rich tonic that was actually beneficial to her body.

It could beautify the skin and strengthen her constitution.

After all, his current body was flawless—comparable to the divine.

Even a single drop of his blood contained enough power to let an ordinary person live for centuries.

Free from illness, eternally youthful, with strength rivaling a miniature Captain America.

That was simply the reality of his strength.

Reading his reply, Yotsuya Miko finally exhaled, her worries melting away.

She didn't understand what he had done—

but as long as she trusted him, that was enough.

And so, time turned like the wheel of sun and moon.

Four days passed in the blink of an eye.

Friday evening, past five o'clock.

Arthur returned home.

After a quick dinner, he retreated to his room and logged into a game.

The game was called World Tree.

An MMOARPG set in a vast fantasy world.

As the name implied, the World Tree bore nine realms, each gradually opened as massive maps in-game.

Each map was immense—so vast that even with millions of players online at once, it still felt sparsely populated.

The game had only launched three days ago.

Arthur had registered an account the very first day.

His ID, as always, was Daydream.

At 7:30 that evening, the doorbell interrupted him.

Checking the video intercom, he saw it was Yotsuya Miko.

Aside from chatting on LINE, they hadn't seen much of each other in the past few days—let alone done anything.

Leaving his game character idle, Arthur headed downstairs and opened the door.

Miko stepped inside, dressed in a white hoodie and black denim shorts.

Her legs looked pale and slender.

"Did you miss me?"

In the living room, Arthur pulled her into his arms.

Her cheeks flushed as she leaned against his chest. Though shy, she still murmured a soft "mm" and wrapped her arms around his waist.

These past few days apart, she had missed him dearly.

Having sealed their bond, and shared that intimacy, she now regarded him as her greatest support.

Hearing her response, Arthur's lips curved.

He lowered his head and pressed against her soft lips.

Miko's body stiffened—

but soon she closed her eyes, responding to him with shy inexperience.
