Ryder Savage had managed to defeat Twilight Killer for the SWF World Heavyweight Championship. However, the brutal battle left him hospitalized as well.
The fight had two major implications among the organization:
It eliminated the Dark Dynasty's most powerful enforcer. Thus further cracking the aura of invincibility that the core members had.It essentially reduced the Dark Dynasty down to only Black Mask.
However, while it seemed like the iron fisted rule of the Dark Dynasty was finally on its last legs. There was still one seemingly immovable obstacle, that of course, was Black Mask himself.
In the meantime, Night Queen had lost her SWF Women's Championship to none other than Black Maria.
Maria had worked her way to a title shot in a desperate attempt to get back on Black Mask's good side and back into the Dark Dynasty. However, things did not go the way she had hoped.
"Why are you back here? I've already written off your worth. If Night Queen lost to the likes of you then she's worthless to me now too. Both of you get out of my sight." Black Madk told her dismissively.
"But-" Maria tried to protest.
"I've already made my decision! There are no buts." Black Mask said definitively.
Night Queen was devastated by Black Mask's decision to make her leave. She had been by his side since they were children, even though he had changed to the point that he was like a completely different person, she still wanted to be by his side more than anything else.
However, she made no attempt to beg him to stay. She didn't say a single in her own defense. She simply did as Black Mask told her.
With his closest friends discarded, Black Mask was now completely alone. His control of the SWF seemed to be waning. However, he still remained unbeaten in the promotion. No matter who he faced, his victory was certain.
"Those fools were all useless anyway. I don't need the help of lower life forms anyway. Black Mask said to the empty room he was in.
"Who is he talking to? He's been talking to himself alone more and more lately." An SWF staff member said to another as he walked by Black Mask's locker room.
Meanwhile, Triple P was having yet another meeting with some of the wrestlers about how they could defeat Black Mask. However, no one could think of a single person who could beat him.
"Ryder could maybe beat him if he uses that technique he used against Twilight Killer." Super Maxx suggested.
"Maybe, but he's still recovering from it. That isn't a technique that He can use over and over again." Ryder's wife Lindsay responded.
"Then there's really nothing we can do." Triple P said.
"I wouldn't give up so soon." A voice said as the door was pushed open.
"It's you, Cinco Jr.!" King Mystery said as he entered the room.
"You have somebody in mind?" Triple P asked.
"I do. It's me." Cinco Jr. declared.
"No offense Cinco, but you lost to him two on one. Plus you just recovered from the injuries that he gave you last time." Triple P said.
"I understand why you'd be skeptical, but I wasn't just lying in my hospital bed for fun. I put a lot of thought into Black Mask's weaknesses, and I think I've finally figured it out." Cinco Jr. replied.
"You've figured out his weakness? What is it?" Super Maxx asked.
"No offense, but I want to keep this to myself."
"What? Why?"
"I know it sounds crazy but I feel like if I say it out loud then it won't work."
"I understand that you're confident that you have Black Mask figured out, but I don't know if I can give you a shot at him just based on your gut feeling." Triple P said.
"Come on Paul, what do you have to lose?" Cinco Jr. said. "Nobody can beat him anyway, you might as well give me a shot."
"I understand what you mean, but with the way Black Mask is now, you could get seriously hurt in there. You might even die."
"Maybe so, but it's worth the risk to test my theory."
Triple P was about to say something in return before King Mystery stopped him. "Can't you see Cinco's resolve Paul?" He asked.
"Fine, I understand. Alright, I'll agree to the match, I'll send the fight contract to Black Mask by the end of the day. I doubt he would refuse." Triple P said reluctantly.
"One more thing Paul." Cinco Jr. said. "Make it a cage match."
In the next few days the match between Cinco Jr. and Black Mask is scheduled and announced. The match will take place on the second night of the biggest event on the SWF schedule, Wrestlefrenzy.
