"1!"
"2!"
"3!"
"And that's it folks! The match is over and it's a crushing victory for the debuting Black Mask! And what an incredible win it was!" Ted announced excitedly. "At first it seemed like he was in trouble, but he turned it around and finished it with his signature move!"
"Congratulations on your victory Black Mask." Triple P said as he walked into the center of the ring. "I was very impressed. So impressed in fact, that I want to offer you a number one contender match next week on Friday Night Knockdown."
Black Mask had been told before he had even signed that he would be on a short list for a title shot due to his long list of accomplishments outside of the organization. So this news wasn't much of a surprise to him, but to the rest of the arena it was a major reveal.
"Next week, you'll be facing Tex Lunger in a title elimination match. The winner will face the winner of the championship match between the champ Super Maxx, and King Kamehameha. I'm assuming of course that you will accept?" Triple P asked.
"Of course." Black Mask replied.
The Jumbotron then lit up with the image of a tank, and Tex Lunger's theme music played over the speakers, and a massive man with flat top blonde hair wearing a cowboy hat and boots made his way to the ring at a good speed.
"Oh my goodness, "The Texas Tank" Tex Lunger is here in the stadium and he is making a b-line straight towards Black Mask!" Ted announced.
Tank Lunger stepped over the ropes and stood over Black Mask. He stood over 7 feet tall, and weighed over 400 pounds with 0 percent body fat. He was a physical specimen considered to be one of if not the greatest athlete in the organization in terms of physical capabilities. He was also the former SWF Universal Champion before he lost to King Kamehameha who then lost the title to Super Maxx.
"So, it looks like me and you are set for a match. Winner gets a title shot" Tank said as he continued to look down on Black Mask. "Well I just want you to know that there's no way I'd ever let you take MY title shot. The belt used to be MINE and it will be again. You can never beat me because you don't know what it feels like to hold that belt. I do. And next Friday night I'll know how it feels to hold your neck between my hands as I squeeze the life out of you."
"Mr. Lunger if your goal was to intimidate me then I'm afraid that you've missed your mark. I've faced a lot bigger opponents than you before, and I didn't back down then and I won't back down now." Black Mask said he got into Lunger's face. "And next Friday night after I've buried you under the ring! You will realize that it was a mistake to think you have what it takes to step into the ring with me!" He shouted.
The two then nearly started a brawl on the middle of the ring before they were separated. Separating two massive superhuman wrestlers was a tall task, requiring dozens of security guards and several of the wrestlers who happened to be backstage at the time.
"Whoa! That was some fireworks between these two in the ring just now. I'm sure it'll be even more explosive when they get in the ring to fight for real!" Ted announced. "Now Bill are you concerned at all about the comments made tonight about supposedly squeezing the life out of Black Mask. He did just come back after a disciplinary suspension."
"Oh it's probably nothing. Just run of the mill banter between fighters. I wouldn't read too much into it." Bill responded.
In Super Wrestling, it's against the rules to intentionally kill your opponent. However, no disciplinary action is taken for an "accidental death". Tex Lunger had a reputation for "accidentally" killing his opponents in the ring quite often. To date, over 50 men had died in the ring during matches with him. He had eventually been suspended for suspected intentional killing. Even then, it was only a five week suspension.
After the event the Dark Dynasty all returned home and the next day Black Mask began preparing for his match. He was just finishing up a particularly intense sparring match with Twilight Killer when Night Queen came up to him holding a bottle of water.
"You're working awfully hard today, are you concerned about your match against Tex?" She asked him.
"Don't be ridiculous you know I'm not, I take every match seriously no matter the opponent." Black Mask replied.
"Of course I know that. I'm just teasing you a bit." She said as she sat down next to him. "Still you're actually about to fight for a chance at the SWF Universal title. It's a moment that we've dreamt about since we were kids. Do you remember when we first met all those years ago in Mexico? We were so young, we had to lie about our age just to get in the ring. Do you remember that?"
"Of course I remember, but you know that I'm not one to reminisce." He said somewhat dismissively.
"I know silly, I'm just saying that we've come a long way is all." She said with a playful pat on his back.
"Hmm, that's true but we still have a long way to go still to reach our goal. Even once I become Universal Champion, there will still be a lot of work left to do."
"That's right, there's a lot more championships for us to win." Night Queen said. "So who do you think that you'll be facing? Super Maxx or King Kamehameha?"
"It's hard to say. Honestly it doesn't make any difference to me I'd absolutely crush either one of them."
"Of course, darling." Night Queen said playfully.
After a week of harsh training, it was finally the day of the match. However, Black Mask's title eliminator match isn't the only match of the night. A few members of the Dark Dynasty had matches as well. The first of those matches would include Black Knight, and he would be facing a few familiar opponents.
