Jay's POV (Morning in the Mansion):
Sunlight spilled through the enormous windows, painting golden streaks across my room. I blinked awake, the quiet ache for Kiefer from last night still tugging at me, but it felt softer somehow in the light of the new day.
Before I could even stretch, I heard a knock on my door.
"Come on, sleepyhead! Breakfast waits!" Keeper's voice rang out, playful as ever.
I swung my legs off the bed and padded to the door. As soon as I opened it, Stella and David were there, carrying trays stacked with fruit, pastries, and steaming mugs of hot chocolate.
"Good morning, little baby," Keeper said, ruffling my hair in that familiar way that made me melt.
"Morning, troublemakers," I replied with a laugh, feeling the weight of last night lift just a little.
Stella winked. "We figured since this is your place now, you deserve a breakfast fit for a queen." She set a tray on the side table. "And yes, you get to pick dessert first. Rules of the mansion."
David poured hot chocolate into my favorite mug and handed it to me. "And remember," he said with mock seriousness, "no stealing our waffles. Or there will be consequences."
I grinned and grabbed a small pastry. "You guys are ridiculous."
Keeper smirked. "And you love it. Come on, let's eat outside."
We carried the trays to the balcony overlooking the gardens. The morning breeze was gentle, birds chirping, and the sun warming our faces. I couldn't stop smiling — the three of them fussing over me, teasing each other, laughing when a mischievous squirrel tried to steal a piece of fruit.
"Remember," Stella said, nudging me playfully, "this is your kingdom. You make the rules… but only if they're fun rules just like before..."
I laughed, feeling lighter than I had in weeks. "Then my first rule," I said, holding up my chocolate mug, "is that we stay like this forever — just laughing, eating, and being ridiculous."
Keeper chuckled, leaning his head on mine. "Forever starts now, baby. And don't worry… we'll make sure it's unforgettable."
Even with Keifer lingering in the corners of my heart, even with everything I had lost and feared, I realized this: here, in this mansion, surrounded by the three people who truly loved me, I could be happy. I could laugh. I could live.
And for now, that was enough....
