The following morning, at the Drayke's mansion;
Despite how the morning sunlight streamed through the large windows of Cassandra's bedroom, she could barely notice it.
She had been awake for hours, staring at the ceiling, her mind replaying the previous night over and over.
Andrea Collins' naked proposition: The cold, mechanical way she had offered herself and the hidden motives she had refused to explain.
And especially, Cassandra's own response at the offer.
FLASHBACK
Andrea had stood there, her chin raised high as if she wasn't completely naked, waiting for Cassandra's answer.
"So? What do you say?" Andrea had prompted.
Cassandra had opened her mouth, ready to either agree or tell Andrea to get the hell out.
But something stopped her.
Her wolf had stirred uneasily, whispering: "Wrong. This is totally wrong. We can't abandon mate... our Rose."
That had made Cassandra had closed her mouth, her jaw clenching.
"I need time to think about this," she had finally said.
