Chapter 9 - Turbulent Undercurrents

Meanwhile…

While Theron was having the battle of his life, somewhere in the world of Elias, a meeting was currently taking place.

In a room where even the faintest light was nonexistent, sitting in a circle, five sets of blood red eyes looked at a projection of the current ongoing fight.

Looking into their eyes, you could tell that the five of them were shocked; they couldn't believe what they were witnessing.

"Impossible! How can the king of darkness be so strong!"

"According to those cultist bastards, their sacrifice technique could summon a ninth-order monster! Are you trying to say that the Voss family patriarch has broken through?"

"Impossible!"

Yelling hysterically, one of the five felt his worldview was about to collapse.

What was the ninth order? A realm that humanity hadn't seen for hundreds, if not thousands of years.

A realm where one had begun to transcend mortality, and with a little bit of divinity, they could become immortal demigods embarking on the road to godhood.

Now you say the person before them is on his way to becoming a God? Impossible!

"Umbra relax, even if he's ninth order, so what?"

"Right now, our plans are already in motion, the heavens are in chaos by the void demon God, and today, humanity's strongest will die."

"Don't talk ninth order, even if he was a demigod, today Theron Voss has to die!"

"With his death, the empire can then fall into chaos, allowing us to move more openly."

Speaking in a voice that made the surrounding temperature cool down, a voice that seemed to be the leader, quickly spoke, diffusing the current tension.

In his mind, even the gods of the heavens had been put into their calculations, much less a regular human; without a doubt, Theron was going to die.

Unfortunately, what he didn't know was that while he was indeed correct in his predictions, there was one existence that he couldn't predict

And that was Damien!

Under the influence of DP, his death was all but guaranteed.

However, nobody here knew this. Listening to their leader speak, they all became silent, although a few of them wished they had eliminated Theron.

"Alright, let's continue watching. For the Demon King to return, the present world must fall into chaos." he paused, his blood red pupils suddenly dilating

"For the Demon King!'' he yelled

Seeing this, the other four quickly followed

"For the Demon King!" (X4)

And so unbeknownst to the people of Elias, in the shadows, a group of five people had started the countdown to end the world.

…...................…..

Damien Pov, Voss Residence

Meanwhile, Time soon passed, and while the chaos of the world was brewing. The Voss family, despite their transcendent status, was not free from it.

Two days had passed since the final fight between Theron and the cultists had begun, and while the Voss family wasn't able to fully monitor what was going on.

But recalling the chaos that enveloped the house when Alfred and the others returned with serious injuries, Damien, in his crib, couldn't help but crunch up his tiny face as worry filled his mind

"Damn, stupid father, not only are you making mother sad, but my one hundred DP is going to waste if you end up dying!"

"Today is the second day. If you don't come back soon, then my immortality buff is going to end," Said Damien as he pulled up the timer on his system

[Semi-Immortality Buff(Theron Voss): 23:57:31]

"A bit under twenty-four hours, and this stupid system can't allow me to check on his current state without asking for more DP!"

"Damn capitalist!"

Flaring is hands in anger; he really hated this baby's body of his, weak and unable to do much. Could he really be fated to watch his father die and his family be destroyed?

Lost in thought, his eyes couldn't help but water as his baby emotions began to spiral.

Fortunately, before he could start crying, a pair of green eyes and bright orange hair suddenly appeared in front of him.

"Yong master, are you alright? Why do you look like you're about to cry?"

"Do you miss your mummy? Sorry, but you'll have to wait, these days the madam isn't really in the right mood."

"However, don't you worry! Your most loyal maid, Isabelle, will keep you company!"

Picking him up from his crib, rubbing her cheek against his, Isabelle, sensing his turbulent mood, quickly tried to calm him down, regardless of whether or not the child could understand her.

It's just that Damien, hearing this, thought back to his mother Elizabeth, seeing Alfred and the rest in such a critical situation, was the most affected.

Having just given birth, he couldn't even rest, and now she suddenly hears that her husband's mission squad was almost wiped out, and his current life and death were unknown.

In fact, on the day she heard, she almost stormed to the mission site to find out what was wrong. Fortunately, a few elders in the family who were more level-headed sensed something was off and held her back

Now she's being confined in her room by the great elder, preventing her from making any foolish moves while they think of a plan.

"Sigh…. Is destiny really unchangeable? Is fate really unshakable?"

"If it is, then what is the point of my reincarnation?"

"to live a life of misery? To die at the hand of the protagonist? Or to please a certain god who enjoys watching others struggle?"

Lost in thought, Damien's baby mind pondered what the point was as he felt the situation was becoming extremely hopeless.

Even after spending all his initial DP, if that still couldn't change anything, then he who was just a baby might just as well give up.

"Young master…." sensing her young master's sadness, Isabelle's heart hurt as she felt a sharp pain in her chest.

How could a baby who knows nothing about the world express such emotion?

However, just when both of them were lost in thought, another maid suddenly burst into the room

"Isabbelle! Go get the madam! The Patriarch is back!"

Hearing this, both their eyes suddenly widened

"What!"
