Chapter 115 - Xiangjia Sect Comes Knocking, Deliberate Provocation

Before she even had time to get annoyed, Su Yaoyun—still lying in the man's arms—suddenly changed expression.

"What's wrong?" Luo Yu asked in confusion.

"Someone's coming!" Su Yaoyun abruptly sat up and quickly put on her red dress.

Luo Yu felt speechless. "Why are you panicking? I locked the door."

Su Yaoyun froze for a moment. Right… what was she panicking for? Acting like she'd done something guilty.

She withdrew the pink spiritual barrier, and the sound of knocking immediately came from outside the door.

Knock, knock, knock!

Luo Yu patted Su Yaoyun's smooth white shoulder and raised his voice. "Who is it?"

Shui Yue'er's voice sounded from outside. "Brother Yu, news came from home. The Xiangjia Sect has come to visit. We don't know what they want. My sister and I are heading back first."

"Alright, go on ahead. I'll head back in a bit," Luo Yu replied.

The corridor soon fell quiet, and hurried footsteps faded away—clearly they had rushed off.

Luo Yu glanced at Su Yaoyun and sighed. "Indulging in lust in broad daylight… sinful."

Su Yaoyun immediately reached out her jade-like fingers and pinched the soft flesh of his waist. "What's this? Put your pants on and you stop recognizing people? Sleep with a girl and suddenly you want to act holy?"

"Of course not!" Luo Yu raised his hands in surrender and started getting dressed.

"Heading to the Shui family?" Su Yaoyun asked as she let go.

Fastening his belt, Luo Yu rolled his eyes. "Didn't you hear? The Xiangjia Sect already defected to the Wuhun Hall. Foxes paying New Year's greetings to chickens are never up to anything good."

"Wuhun Hall…" Su Yaoyun muttered, then looked at him. "Once you get back, don't be afraid of anything. If anything happens, I'll carry it for you."

Luo Yu reached out and ruffled her silky hair, ignoring the resentful look she gave him. "Relax. With riffraff like that, your man won't need his woman to cover for him."

Su Yaoyun frowned. "That Huyan Zhen has top-tier Soul Douluo strength. If he really wants trouble, Shui Dongsheng might not win. And your strength—"

She stopped herself, leaving face for her man.

Luo Yu shook his head with a smile. "You really see things clearly. But it's unlikely they came to fight outright. If they wanted to do something, sneaking an ambush would be more efficient, no?"

Su Yaoyun got out of bed, smoothed out her wrinkled skirt, and slipped her jade-like feet into her black lace-up heels. "I'll go with you."

Luo Yu sniffed his sleeve to confirm no unusual scent lingered, then lazily waved her off. "Rest. For something this trivial, no need for someone as venerable as you to step out."

Su Yaoyun wrinkled her pretty nose. "Do I look that old to you?"

Luo Yu brushed her hair with a teasing smile. "Age aside, this immortal-level beauty and figure of yours… better than any eighteen-year-old."

Su Yaoyun slapped his hand away, though her pink eyes revealed a trace of bashfulness.

Bang.

The door shut. Luo Yu left, and Su Yaoyun was alone in the room.

The seductive woman's gaze shimmered like spring water. Instinctively, she touched her lower abdomen and stared resentfully at the door. "Not even the slightest improvement… and all the benefits ended up taken by this little man."

"My troublesome love… you said a great calamity is coming. If my strength doesn't rise, how am I supposed to protect you…" Her worried sigh echoed in the room.

After parting from Su Yaoyun, Luo Yu headed straight out of the academy toward the Shui family estate.

Beyond his relationship with Shui Bing'er and Shui Yue'er, this place was the first location he arrived at when he came to the Douluo Continent. Luo Yu still felt a sense of familiarity toward it.

On the way, Luo Yu suddenly let out a soft "huh," feeling a faint, unusual fluctuation in his heart.

"This is…"

At the Shui family estate, Shui Dongsheng was personally receiving guests in the front hall.

Three people had arrived: a burly, broad-shouldered middle-aged man and two strong, arrogant-looking young men.

The middle-aged man sported two sharp moustaches above his lips, and his eyes occasionally flashed with a refined glimmer—very out of sync with his rough build.

"Third Elder of the Xiangjia Sect, Huyan Bawei, greets the Patriarch of the Shui Family."

Shui Dongsheng smiled. "So it's Elder Bawei visiting. My apologies for not welcoming you earlier."

Though he said the words, he showed no genuine apology at all—if anything, his manner felt cold.

"Patriarch Shui is too polite," Huyan Bawei said warmly, though the flicker in his eyes showed he hardly regarded Shui Dongsheng seriously.

"I wonder what Elder Bawei has come for today?" Shui Dongsheng asked directly.

Huyan Bawei cut straight to the point. "I came to discuss the matter of your Shui Family joining the Wuhun Hall."

"This matter, Elder Bawei, need not be mentioned again. I haven't made up my mind. I'll need time to consider."

Huyan Bawei's expression darkened. With the Wuhun Hall behind him, his confidence surged. He slammed the table with a loud bang.

"Seems Patriarch Shui doesn't know what's good for him?"

Shui Dongsheng's smile vanished. With a thunderous boom, a powerful aura erupted from him, and eight soul rings rose around his body.

Huyan Bawei let out a cold snort. His burly body flared with seven soul rings, and behind him, a Diamond Mammoth bellowed toward the sky. Though slightly weaker than Shui Dongsheng, it wasn't far off.

"What's this? Is this how the Shui Family treats guests? Do you intend to fight me?"

Shui Dongsheng sneered. He had already seen through it—they weren't here to negotiate at all. They came deliberately to cause trouble and were just waiting for a reason to fight.

Fighting in his own home meant any damage was his own loss. And once they started, the Xiangjia Sect could openly use it as justification to clash with the Shui family.

Meanwhile, the other side had the full support of the Wuhun Hall. Compared to that, the Shui family was practically alone. This wasn't the time to flip the table.

If he could keep the bastard here, that'd be best, but judging from his arrogance, he likely had a way to escape even if a fight broke out.

Seeing Shui Dongsheng's silence, the burly man spoke with pride. "If Patriarch Shui is itching for a match, I, Huyan Bawei, can give you the chance to challenge me."

Shui Dongsheng looked at him deeply, then withdrew his soul power and calmed his aura.

A look of surprise flashed through Huyan Bawei's eyes. He saw something? A dignified patriarch doesn't even dare take the bait from a third elder like me? This cowardice—how am I supposed to complete my mission?

Shui Dongsheng caught that flicker and confirmed his suspicion: they were here to provoke, nothing more.

"Elder Huyan's strength isn't on the same level as mine. There's no need for us to exchange blows."

Huyan Bawei was suddenly speechless. According to his plan, a few lines should have been enough to anger the man and make him strike. Who would've expected him to turtle up like this?

Unacceptable. This mission had to succeed. Last time, not only had the mission failed, but two elites had even died. Though Sect Master Huyan Zhen hadn't punished him, Bawei's standing in the sect plummeted.

If he failed again, even his future resources would be cut off.

At that moment, Shui Bing'er and Shui Yue'er rushed into the hall.

"Dad!"

Shui Dongsheng pointed toward the group from the Xiangjia Sect. "Don't you see the honored guests? Greet them first."

Seeing the two girls enter, Huyan Bawei's eyes lit up. "No need for greetings. Patriarch Shui's two daughters have remarkable talent. They're quite famous among the Five Academies."

As he spoke, he signaled to the two young men behind him.
