The morning sunlight filtered through the curtains, painting golden streaks across the room. Elena stirred beneath the warmth of the blanket, senses slowly awakening to the sound of Adrian's soft breathing beside her. His arm draped possessively across her waist, fingers tracing idle patterns on her skin, and a faint smile tugged at her lips before her eyes fully opened.
She shifted slightly, brushing a strand of hair from her face, and caught sight of him—gray eyes half-lidded, hair slightly mussed from sleep, the shadow of a smile that made her heart skip. He noticed her movement immediately and leaned closer, pressing a gentle kiss to her temple.
"Good morning," he murmured, voice husky with sleep.
Elena tilted her head into his touch. "Good morning," she replied softly, lips curling into a playful smile.
