Chapter 21 - Chapter 0021: The Hunt

Silently sneaking over, because the hosts were all mutated rodents, the Messenger Aliens had basically the same size and skin color. Their slightly dark gray bodies were almost flattened on the ground, crawling forward.

When they were sixty or seventy meters away from the five crocodile lizards, the wildcat Alien detoured far away, heading towards the rear of the crocodile lizards.

However, the Messenger Aliens completely exceeded Yun Hai's expectations. Instead of all scattering and surrounding them from afar, five Messengers quickly started digging holes.

They were very fast, their forelimbs' sharp claws digging into the ground like lightning, and their hind limbs evenly smoothing and tamping the dug-out soil. Their speed was simply too fast, and they disappeared into the dug holes in just a few breaths.

The remaining Messenger Aliens scattered far away under the cover of bushes and grass that was taller than a person, moving slowly and silently lurking behind the five crocodile lizards.

The longest time since their birth was only two days, and they had just completed their first molting and growth. These Aliens had already shown unparalleled hunting talent, and in Yun Hai's surprised gaze, they had even used military tactics.

Surround three sides, leave one open.

Lure the enemy into an ambush.

From time to time, the dense forest echoed with the cries of beasts, including strange sounds from birds and insects.

Even without the cover of these sounds, neither the sneaking Aliens nor the digging Messenger Aliens made any noise.

Completely unaware of the impending disaster, the five crocodile lizards ate from time to time, swaggering along.

Time passed by, second by second, and soon, they approached the place where the five Messenger Aliens had dug holes and ambushed them.

"Swish, swish..."

Fourteen Messengers rushed out like thin pythons emerging from their holes, directly pouncing towards the crocodile lizard that was lagging behind.

Resonating their chests to emit a strange low roar, the crocodile lizard wasn't a pushover either. It swung its giant tail to lash at a Messenger pouncing from the south, and at the same time, its bloody mouth opened wide, and its tongue, squeezed into a ball, suddenly shot out between its rows of sharp teeth.

Its strength might not be as great as the mutated crocodile lizard, which was as long as two meters, but the Messenger Alien's agility was something the crocodile lizard couldn't match. The slender body of the Messenger on the south twisted in the air, perfectly avoiding the crocodile lizard's giant tail strike.

"Chirp!"

Its tailbone stabbed fiercely from its head, and the Messenger directly stabbed its tail tip into the crocodile lizard's eye. Black juice shot out, spraying all over it.

The sound of impact rang out at the same time. Obviously, the crocodile lizard's tongue stretched out faster than its giant tail could strike. Just as the tail tip pierced into the crocodile lizard's right eye, the Messenger Alien was struck in the chest and abdomen by the crocodile lizard's long tongue.

Its body trembled violently, and the Messenger Alien was almost knocked back by the force, but the crocodile lizard's tongue was tightly sucked onto its body surface. As the long tongue retracted, the Messenger was about to be rolled into the mouth of the painfully roaring crocodile lizard.

Another slender tailbone appeared, and the tail tip of another Messenger flashed with cold light, accurately stabbing the tense crocodile lizard's tongue, rescuing its companion in time.

First, its eye was pierced, and then its tongue was cut off. The crocodile lizard's giant mouth bit into empty air, and it went mad with pain, shaking its long head wildly, scattering blood everywhere, and its thick tail lashed wildly in the air.

Two Messengers couldn't dodge in time and were struck by the crocodile lizard's thick tail, flying out with a whoosh.

"Pfft!"

Five Messenger Aliens swung their sharp claws and stabbed their tailbones fiercely. In the crocodile lizard's painful howl, they directly broke its limbs. The tail tip of one Messenger was like a pile driver, instantly stabbing its tail root countless times.

Bones broke and flesh tore, and the crocodile lizard's violently swinging tail flew out more than ten meters away.

The crocodile lizard's thick skin armor might have been extremely defensive against other creatures, but it couldn't withstand the attacks of the Alien's metal-like sharp claws and tail tips.

Even so, the Alien's tail tip, which was enough to break through hard rock, only pierced a few inches into the crocodile lizard's body. Only by continuously and accurately stabbing the same spot could it enlarge the wound and severely injure the crocodile lizard.

An angry roar exploded in the forest. The other four crocodile lizards originally wanted to turn around and fight, but when they saw more Messengers pouncing over, fear flashed in their bloodthirsty eyes. Driven by biological instinct, they ran away.

They instantly reached extreme speed, charging and crashing wildly as they fled.

The crocodile lizard's body wasn't strong to begin with, but rather slender, and it turned out to be no slower than the Messenger Aliens when running.

As it fled, the crocodile lizard's tail swung rapidly behind it, making "啪啪" sonic boom sounds. Several small trees that hadn't mutated and evolved were struck and snapped in response.

Not having escaped far, the four crocodile lizards had just released their speed, and the distance of more than ten meters arrived in an instant. The ground suddenly collapsed, and before the crocodile lizards could react, they fell directly into the pit dug by the five giant rat Aliens.

In the tumbling black soil, the five digging and ambushing Messengers darted back and forth, and the crocodile lizards' terrified howls and the sound of flesh breaking mixed together.

Compared to their backs, their abdominal defenses were still too poor.

The Messengers lurking in the pit stabbed their abdomens countless times in the chaos, and the four crocodile lizards were easily severely injured in one encounter.

"Hiss..."

More Messengers appeared at the edge of the pit, standing in a circle outside the pit.

Once a crocodile lizard struggled to climb out of the pit, the Messenger Aliens attacked without hesitation. When Yun Hai saw a Messenger eject its inner jaws like lightning, actually shattering a crocodile lizard's ejected tongue, his heart was incredibly shocked.

From the Messengers' attack, it only took less than a minute, and the short and not-so-fierce battle had already come to an end.

Exchanging the greatest victory at the smallest cost, the twenty Aliens didn't attack rashly, even though the crocodile lizards, which were ultimately inferior to crocodiles in their eyes, weren't strong.

The four crocodile lizards were quickly rolled up by the Messengers' tailbones and dragged out. Yun Hai, who had arrived with the other ten Messengers, was naturally extremely satisfied.

Clearly, the Aliens also knew that the Queen needed hosts. Although there were many wounds on each crocodile lizard, they weren't fatal.

All four limbs had been broken, and even their thick tails had been attacked by the Aliens with their tail tips, sharp teeth, and even more terrifying inner jaws, and torn off.

The seemingly fierce mutated crocodile lizards, except for their bodies, had completely become lumps of flesh.

"Transport them back. Parasitize the crocodile lizards, and the Queen will eat the tails."

Yun Hai issued a mental command.

Five Messengers stood up halfway, holding the severed tails with their forelimbs, stretched out their slender tailbones, tightly strangled the crocodile lizards' giant mouths, dragged them behind, turned around, and ran towards the top of the mountain, quickly disappearing from Yun Hai's sight.

Turning his head to look at the wildcat Alien beside him, Yun Hai suddenly felt that this guy had some potential for posing. Even though it looked down on these crocodile lizards with its size and abilities, it hadn't taken action, but rarely even looked at the five crocodile lizards from beginning to end, its cool factor was absolutely full.

The wildcat's proud genes were also inherited.

"Let's go!"

Yun Hai was somewhat looking forward to what kind of Aliens would evolve after the five crocodile lizards were parasitized, but like the wildcat Alien, he also hoped to find stronger hosts. He looked up at the depths of the back mountain, waved his hand, and led a group of Messengers to rush in quickly.

Not long after running in again, Yun Hai felt that he had approached the center of the back mountain. An abnormality appeared in his unique mental senses. Before he could stop, all the Messengers had obviously sensed the danger and surrounded him at the first moment.

In his unique mental senses, an exceptionally huge life light shadow appeared, moving slowly, taking a step and stopping for a long time.

Approaching slowly, Yun Hai still climbed a short tree and looked into the distance.

"That's a mutated porcupine!"

A huge body that was two meters high and four meters long appeared in front of a hillside not far away. The limbs stepping on the ground were thicker than a human waist.

Its round body was covered with black and white alternating quills, each quill nearly one meter long, just like slender spears.

If that didn't look fierce enough, whether it was evolution or a reversion to ancestral traits, the mutated porcupine even had two fangs protruding from its mouth, each half a meter long.

"Unlike the mutated crocodile lizards, which only look bigger, we can't fight this thing head-on. We still have to dig a hole and ambush it like before."

Watching the mutated porcupine chewing on pieces of plant leaves from time to time, looking at its huge and strong body, Yun Hai believed that the quills it ejected were no less powerful than bullets.

Receiving the mental command, the fifteen Messengers ran out quickly and silently, and soon burrowed into the ground in the direction the porcupine was moving.

The wildcat Alien and other Messengers also set off together, scattering far away in the grass, advancing quietly.

As if it could never fill its huge stomach, completely unaware of the impending danger, the giant porcupine ate almost everything it saw as it walked.

Thick and juicy grass stems, plump green leaves, tree roots tangled on the ground, huge mushrooms, including insects running in the grass, it seemed that everything was its delicious meal.

Yun Hai finally understood why it had become so huge after mutation.

With such an appetite and no shortage of food, Yun Hai felt that it could even grow to the size of a mammoth before long.

"Chirp!"

Suddenly, a slender vine rapidly stretched out from the blue-black moss on the ground, quickly entangling the porcupine.

Completely ignoring it, the porcupine continued to tear off pieces of a huge mushroom, eating the plump and juicy fungi with a satisfied grunt.

As soon as the vine entangled the porcupine's body, it seemed to only exert a little force before being pierced by the sharp quills. Only then did the porcupine turn its head, bite the vine that was trying to shrink back, and take a few steps backward, forcefully pulling the vine out of the ground.

The root was like a potted plant. The vine wasn't very long, only about ten meters. Not being picky about what it ate, the porcupine simply opened its mouth and swallowed it. The vine entangled the porcupine's body but didn't dare to tighten, and couldn't break free from the porcupine's bite, constantly convulsing and twisting, like a black snake struggling in pain.

"Even if we lose a few Messengers, we have to take it down!"

Yun Hai's heart was moved.

Regardless of its strength, unique defense, or huge body, he firmly believed that as long as the Aliens could successfully parasitize the porcupine, they might give birth to a truly powerful Alien Guardian.
