Chapter 55 - The Dawn of Divine Defiance

A heavy silence settled, broken only by the light wind sweeping across the plains. Then a strong, clear, and solemn voice rose from the divine army:

> "Guardians of Verdalis… the Divine Realm claims these lands. The king of Verdalis is dead, and no human can rule the dragons or lay claim to this kingdom. You must surrender these lands and submit to our authority."

A murmur ran through the ranks of the Guardians and the loyal Demon Kings. Concern and tension were visible on every face. Kaelen clenched his fists, ready to react.

Ryo stepped forward with calm assurance, his golden aura illuminating the plain. His voice resonated with authority and composure:

> "Verdalis is not a kingdom that yields to decree or threat. This land is protected by its Guardians, their servants, and those who have chosen to stand with us—even those who were once our enemies. I am the one who stands here today, and Verdalis will not surrender without cause."

Azrakel and Morvath bowed their heads, impressed by their master's command, while Tavric held his spear at the ready, watching the movements of the divine soldiers.

Ryo continued:

> "If you wish to judge our strength, then do so. But know this: Verdalis will not fall. We do not seek war, but we will defend this kingdom with our lives and with the loyalty of those who follow us."

The divine army halted, assessing Ryo's determination and the impressive unity of his allies. A tense silence fell, charged with energy and the promise of confrontation.

Kaelen whispered to Ryo:

> "Master… this encounter could decide Verdalis's fate."

Ryo slowly nodded, his gaze fixed on the horizon where the flashes of divine energy still shimmered:

> "We are ready. Let will and determination decide. Verdalis will not retreat, whatever happens."

The sun disappeared behind the mountains, plunging the plains into shadow, as the presence of the divine army signaled that the true trial was only just beginning.
