The banquet soon came to an end. Guests bade goodbye to Gu Jinhai who was all smiles.
"Grandma, we will be taking our leave now," Gu Liansheng informed her, holding Shen Linyi by her waist.
"What?" Old madam Gu was quick to rise to her feet. "Impossible! You both are spending the night here and that's final."
Shen Linyi gasped softly as her lips parted slightly. She wanted to speak, but Gu Liansheng stopped her with a shake og his head.
"Grandma, don't be so difficult."
"What? I'm difficult?" Madam Gu lashed out. "It's late. You have had something to drink. Do you think you can drive?"
She hurriedly pulled Shen Linyi to her side. "If you want to leave, then leave. But Shen Linyi — she stays with me."
Gu Liansheng pinched the space between his brows feeling a headache coming up. Gu Jinhai stifled a laugh at his dejected expression. Shen Linyi bit her lips as her gaze rested on him.
"Fine." He gave in. "We will stay here."
