Chapter 11 - Fun Match (2)

[Name: Pux.]

[Name: Sterus.]

[Name: Rimbur.]

[Name:...]

"Hey, are we going to be okay?"

"Take it easy. We have Young Master Patrick behind us. You remember what he said, right?"

"Of course I remember. He told us to discourage him from coming to the weapons hall and practicing."

Soldiers who had just returned from leave, who turned out to be named Pux, were whispering with soldiers who were like his subordinates.

They were all standing at the archery range.

In turn, they nocked the arrow and took aim.

Their target was me.

Unlike those standing in the line where people were aiming for the scarecrow, I was standing in the line of scarecrows, preparing to take their shots.

According to what I have proposed earlier.

What we were doing was no longer a boring archery competition, but we were playing with our lives.

The archery target has been replaced with a real person, not just a motionless scarecrow.

To be fair, I had them take turns shooting at me.

It wouldn't be fair if they all shot at me at once.

I volunteered to be the first to be targeted after all, only then would I shoot them.

In essence, whoever was hit first would be considered defeated.

Meanwhile, whoever lost would kiss the winning person's feet in public. Provided that the person is not hit by the opponent's shot right in the vital part and dies.

"Remember, we can't target his vitals!"

"B-But, what if we accidentally kill Young Master Kieran?"

"Take it easy. Just have confidence in my abilities. Just this one shot is enough to end this match. I'll make him kiss my feet in front of Young Master Patrick. That way, I might be appointed as Young Master Patrick's personal soldier, hehe."

Pux, who looked like their leader, drew his bow in one fluid motion.

[Skill Omni-Perception - Activated.]

Besides being able to increase my sense of hearing, the Omni-Perception skill can also increase my sense of sight.

I watched where he was aiming with his bow.

'Towards the waist, huh.'

In theory, I could hide behind the scarecrow to avoid his arrows, but I didn't do that. I just tilted my body slightly so that his arrow would miss its aim.

Pux failed.

The next person started shooting their arrows at me.

The requirement for me to avoid their arrow attacks was, I had to avoid the direction of their shots before they actually fired their arrows.

"Shouldn't we stop them?"

"Who cares. We're just ordinary soldiers, we shouldn't interfere."

Throughout the show, many soldiers were watching. Some of them seemed to want to stop the fun match, but they tended to ignore it because they realized they couldn't just interfere.

In the end, my fun match opponent's chance to shoot arrows at me had run out.

"Are you guys done?" I asked.

"Shit! How?"

"Let's take turns."

They all looked confused. Not only those who shot arrows at me, but also those who watched from the side.

I smiled and changed places with these fun match opponents.

The fun match opponents were all standing in a haphazard line, but most of them were standing confidently without preparing to step away.

There were ten of them. So, I put ten arrows in my quiver.

According to the rules, I could only shoot each of them once, if I missed, then I couldn't target the same person.

Thwip!

I released the arrow from my hand.

Shluck!

The arrows I released managed to hit their bodies smoothly. Some were hit in the shoulders, thighs, and various other body parts, and some were even hit in the genitals.

"Argghh!"

"Krghh?!"

"Young master Kieran has never even held a bow before, hasn't he?!"

The faces of those who had been hit by my arrows looked in agony.

Screams echoed through the archery field.

Meanwhile, those who had not been hit by my arrows had clear expressions of fear.

'You guys must not have experienced the horror of the battlefield, right?!'

Clearly, they were soldiers who had never felt the thrill of the battlefield, it was obvious when they had even closed their eyes as the arrows I released approached their bodies.

It had been decades since the continent had been at peace, it was only natural that not many soldiers had any real experience in dealing with life and death conditions.

'Maybe that's the reason most of them are still at beginner tier.'

The greatest thing a tier beginner warrior could do was to be able to break large logs with their bare hands.

Their strength was indeed that of several adults, but I wouldn't lose to them even if they attacked me directly.

And sure enough, Pux was starting to get fed up when he saw his men being hit by arrows without anyone managing to dodge despite trying to jump away.

It seemed that Pux saw that danger was threatening him. He suddenly made a surprise move.

I deliberately wanted to shoot Pux as the last target.

But who would have thought that he would come charging at me?

He prepared to land a punch on my face, but, unlike what I had done before, where I was just standing there when I was hit by Luna, this time, I took an arrow from my quiver and aimed it at Pux.

Shoot!

The arrow I shot successfully hit him in his eyeball.

"Arghhh! My eyes!" He screamed loudly while rolling on the floor. His hand was firmly gripping one of his eyes that I had shot. Red blood splattered on the floor.

While all the soldiers who had been watching were standing there in disbelief, Nanny Bessie suddenly came from the weapons hall entrance.

She frowned when she saw what was happening inside the weapons hall. Her hunched back almost stood straight when she saw many of the soldiers in the archery field writhing on the floor.

Nanny Bessie must have recognized Pux and his minions because they both worked under Patrick.

"Is there something you want to say, Nanny?"

"You were summoned by Lord and Lady Ralstone to eat breakfast together, Young Master Kieran."
