The match started and Alena in the Team A passed the ball from the half line back to his teammate Vitinho. Mateo immediately switched gears and pressed Vitinho.
As Mateo pressured with such great intensity, Vitinho had to relieve the pressure from himself so he passed the ball back to the Ortola. Then the Team A build there attack from the back, asserting there dominance over the other team.
The ball was played to the LB then to the CB who advanced a little forward. After evading a press from Team B he played the ball to Vitinho, Vitinho carried the ball a small distance and then passed it to Alena who was in the final third of the B Team.
Immediately the defensive midfielders of the B team pressed Alena. He dribbled them without any hindrance. He saw Cardona making a run. He curled the ball to him.
Cardona received the ball with his first touch. Then gently pushed the ball forward as one of the CB of the B team pressed him. He calmly dribbled past him and slotted the ball in the goalpost that was being guarded by Alberto Varo, goalkeeper of the team that wore the red bibs.
Mateo had his head hung low, he could not do anything as this was a goal that was scored because of the difference between the starting players and the subs team.
He went to Cucurella who was in the same team as him. "When you receive the ball and if you see me in a suitable pass the ball to me, I will not disappoint you." Mateo said to him.
As they were good friends, Cucurella saw no problem in helping his teammate get the ball more.
As the game restarted with Mateo passing the ball back to Tabla who received the ball invited the press from Vitinho and then passed the ball to Cucurella.
Cucurella dribbled past Abel Ruiz who was just behind him and carried the ball to the final third of A team and saw a figure making a run unnoticed by others. He tried to pass the ball to that unmarked figure but before he could do so.
Alena intercepted the pass and then as one team attacked the other defended and then it was reversed.
Until the 10th minute no major breakthrough was achieved by both the teams. But a rather interesting scene played out, somehow Vitinho lost the ball from under his feet and the one who stole the ball was Mateo.
Mateo saw the opportunity as Vitinho became too relax with the ball when it was in his control. So Mateo sensing the right opportunity accelerated at the right time and stole the ball from under Vitinho when he least expected it.
After stealing the ball from Vitinho, Mateo carried the ball until David Costas stepped forward to stop him. Mateo inspired or by showcasing the skills he has gotten from the System, dribbled past Costas just like Van Basten used to do in the past.
He did a shoulder drop to the left to make it seem like he will move to the left with the ball, but the moment Costas followed with his movement. Mateo suddenly with the inside of his left foot touched the ball and pushed it to his right and dashed off.
Leaving Costas behind and saw Cucurella making a run on the left flank. He passed the ball to him and complete a one two pass with him. With acres of space in front of him he unleased a shot that nestled into the bottom right corner of the goal.
Ortola tried to stop the ball but was a tad bit late in doing so. It was not his fault that Mateo was able to shoot so freely and that his defender provided Mateo with so much time that he could accurately hit the ball where Ortola would have maximum difficulty in saving the ball.
The score was equalized and Mateo did a small celebration as he did a excited high five with Cucurella who provided him with the assist.
The score was levelled, 1-1. The match restarted with Team A playing the ball back to all the way to Ortola from kickoff. They wanted to attract the press from Team B and then abuse the space left behind by them to score.
They nearly succeeded with there attempt as Vitinho who lost the ball previously progressed the ball to Team B's half he saw Alena making a run around the defensive midfield of the opposing team and sent a beautiful pass that landed exactly Alena wanted it to land.
Alena then not wasting too much time launched a shot that can be classified as World Class at minimum for Alberto Varo to defend.
But defying everyone's expectations, Varo met the World Class shot with a World Class save pushing the ball out of the bounds, resulting in a corner for Team A.
But despite his brilliant save, his team conceded another goal due to the lack of defensive tightness in there own penalty box. Alena delivered a brilliant pass from the corner of the field which accurately found the Team A Striker Cardona who headed the ball into the net.
Team A once again leaded the scoreboard.
The game restarted again and came to a stalemate until the 29th minute when,
Mateo got the ball just outside the penalty box he did not stop the ball at all but instead unleased a first touch volley that blasted in the opposing keeper's goalpost.
That goal was solely made possible because of the astonishing finishing showed by Mateo which left everyone flabbergasted.
The entire training ground was thrown into chaos on witnessing such a world class goal. This goal was not something that you may see every other day.
After scoring the goal, Mateo rushed to the sideline and just did a small celebration as he lifted both his fingers into the sky, he did a lowkey celebration as to not incur the wrath of his teammates as this was just a training match. It was better to not celebrate too much against your future teammates.
The assistant coach Alberto who was refereeing the match blew the whistle for half time. As this scrimmage match was of only 60 minutes. Each half consisting of 30 minutes, the match came to a slight halt with Alberto's whistle.
