[Lesser Slime]
[Slot 1]
Available options:
• Gender
• Density and volume
• General appearance
• Initial skills
A new option had appeared, something different from when I summoned Kaera, and it piqued my curiosity.
[Gender: Male / Female / Genderless]
"Female."
The moment I confirmed the choice, the interface changed. Two separate screens unfolded in front of me.
On the first one, a round slime floated in the middle of the display, with a red orb inside it that had to be its core. From there, I could adjust its density and volume—deciding how compact or fluid its structure would be.
The second screen showed its general appearance. At first, I thought both options should be on the same page, but after taking a closer look, it made sense. Unlike the kobolds, where I could modify almost any part of their body within set limits, slimes could only have their outer shape and appearance altered, bound strictly by physics, volume, and density. If I wanted to expand its shape beyond the base form, I'd have to spend extra DE.
I could give it a humanoid shape if I wanted to, but if I lowered the density too much, the body wouldn't be able to support its own weight and would end up collapsing into a shiny puddle on the floor.
Spending more DE annoyed me, but if it was for my future army of talented monsters, it was worth it. A slime could compress itself until it became small and resistant to magic, or expand to gain viscosity, making it harder to cut or pierce. They could also wrap around prey and slowly suffocate it.
I decided to start by increasing its density to the maximum allowed, five times the base.
Then I began shaping its volume, sculpting its silhouette little by little. With that density, the slime would be able to maintain a human shape; without it, it would've just melted like jelly soaked in water.
Once the base structure was ready, I chose a soft sky-blue tone. Its surface gleamed with a moist glow, pleasant to the eyes, as if its gelatinous skin invited you to touch it. To make it stand out, I added delicate light-green lines that traced along its arms, legs, and waist. The contrast wasn't sharp but calming, giving it a soft, innocent air.
The core, however, needed protection. Its original bright red stood out too much, so I darkened it to a deeper blue, almost invisible inside its body. I moved it beneath its belly, right where a human woman's womb would be. That position made it harder to spot and… more convenient if I ever decided to impregnate her, since gendered slimes reproduce when the male releases a special fluid that passes through the female's body and reaches the core.
Next, I worked on her face. I shaped soft contours, rounded cheeks, a tiny barely noticeable nose, and big, lively green oval eyes that seemed full of curiosity. Her mouth was short and flexible, capable of forming sweet and expressive smiles.
On top of her head, I designed something like hair, but since thin strands weren't possible, I replaced them with tentacles. Not the creepy octopus kind, but soft and smooth ones. I made them a slightly darker blue than her body, with glowing green tips.
Her final figure was feminine and well-proportioned, with soft curves, a narrow waist, and generous breasts and hips without going overboard. Her slender limbs gave her an agile appearance, if you ignored her impressive front and rear. When I looked at her, I couldn't help but notice a subtle resemblance to my third wife from my previous life. I guess I subconsciously used her as a reference.
When I finished the design, the cost displayed 30 DE.
"Seriously?! That's practically daylight robbery!"
I reduced her overall size, changing her appearance from an adult woman to a teenage girl, keeping the proportions but scaling everything down. It didn't really matter—slimes could reshape themselves within their natural limits as long as they had enough mana.
The final cost was 20 DE.

I gave her a balanced set of stats. Nothing as impressive as the kobolds', but solid enough for a slime.
I realized I had spent hours on this design, just like those games where I'd waste half the afternoon perfecting my character's face, only to end up wearing a helmet the whole time. I sighed in resignation and confirmed the summon.
The dungeon core created a blue sphere, and from it, a liquid began to flow outward, spreading until it became a ball. Then the liquid started taking shape becoming a girl.
"What the hell? Why is there a loli?"
Just as I wondered whether I'd been scammed, or rewarded, or cursed, her form stayed that way for only a few seconds before changing again, from looking like a 7-year-old to an 8-year-old, and then gradually growing into the form of a very cute teenage girl.
Although her appearance was quite different from the design I made, the facial features and other details stood out. Her chest was smaller, but her hips were unchanged, and instead of the original hairstyle, she now had two pigtails. Her face seemed the same at a glance, but upon closer inspection, the size of her nose and mouth was slightly different.
As I compared the two, she suddenly opened her eyes. They were amber, completely different from the original dark blue, and they shone brightly, making them stand out.
She seemed to lose connection with the core because she suddenly stopped floating and fell to the ground, but got up as if nothing had happened. For a moment, I thought her steps would be clumsy, but she moved with surprising balance.
"Your name will be Lime."
The instant she heard her name, her eyes lit up, and her gelatinous mouth curved into what could only be described as a smile.

I wonder what her status looks like.

Just like with Kaera, the final stats were slightly higher than what I assigned, except for strength, which dropped a bit. A fair trade considering the rest.
Kaera was resting on my lap, breathing softly. Her black hair spread across my abdomen, and one of her ears twitched slightly at the sound of the summoning, but she didn't wake up. Her body warmth was comforting.
Lime watched her silently, tilting her head side to side, blinking with curiosity before turning her gaze to me. That inquisitive expression made me a bit uncomfortable.
"You can relax for now while I summon the others," I murmured.
Lime approached slowly, moving softly, almost playfully. When she reached my side, she crouched down and placed her gelatinous hands on the floor. Her body adapted naturally to the surface.
Then, with an unexpectedly gentle gesture, she slid over to my leg and used it as a pillow, just like Kaera. She closed her eyes and let her body vibrate with a faint liquid hum, almost like a purr.
When I stroked her head, the sensation was both strange and pleasant—like touching a non-Newtonian fluid. When I pressed gently, my fingers could sink into her. Lime reacted instantly, her body trembling slightly as if emotion rippled through every part of her.
I stopped paying attention to Lime and focused on making the other two summons.
I still had 25 DE left.
Lime's summoning had cost more than I expected.
First, I selected Cave Bat.

Just like with Kaera, the floating menu appeared in front of me.
However, I immediately noticed that the option for density and volume was missing, unlike with her or Lime.
"Female," I muttered to myself as I selected the gender.
To my disappointment, its appearance couldn't take on a humanoid form, though I could tweak some minor aesthetic details.
I gave it a slightly more "feminine" touch, narrowing the silhouette a little and making its ears a bit longer, but in the end, it was still what it was, a simple cave bat.
Not worth spending too much time on.
I moved on to the attribute panel.

A small gust of wind was felt in the room when the bat appeared, hovering in front of me.
Its body was slim, and its wings stretched like a soft, wavering shadow.
It made no sound except for a sharp, light "chirrr," before flapping its wings and clumsily ascending toward the upper part of the room.
Its movements were agile but erratic, as if it was adjusting to existence itself.
I watched it for a few seconds.
I didn't need more than that, aerial surveillance… complete.
"One less nuisance," I whispered to myself.
But I still wasn't done.
Another piece had to be placed.
I selected Luminous Moth.
[Luminous Moth].
[Slot 1].
Available options:
• Gender
• Density and volume
• General appearance
• Initial skills
As with the previous ones, I selected the female gender.
I wasn't too interested in monsters without humanoid traits, though a male version could be useful later for breeding.
I checked the glow option, hoping for something interesting, but "Tsk," I clicked my tongue.
Increasing the glow consumed more DE and would be counterproductive for exploring outside since it would draw more attention.
For now, a living lantern would only cause trouble.
I reduced the glow to the minimum, just enough to emit a faint light, giving it a softer, subtler appearance.
I also made it slightly smaller, I didn't need a giant glowing moth flying around.
Besides brightness and size, I kept the original design, not bothering to decorate it further.

The light concentrated in a small point in front of me and then bloomed like a flower.
The moth's wings were thin and translucent, emitting such a gentle glow that they illuminated only a few centimeters around it, like an elegant firefly.
It slowly flapped its wings, adjusting to the air, and began to float calmly, moving far more gracefully than the bat.
In the end, I was left with only 12 DE.
I could summon another creature if I wanted, but I decided to save it.
I want a goblin or another kobold later.
I turned toward Kaera, who was still sleeping beside me.
I gently touched her shoulder and shook her.
"Wake up, Kaera."
She slowly opened her eyes, blinking lazily.
She stretched, arching her back and extending her arms as a soft yawn escaped her lips.
Her expression turned confused when she noticed the moth floating near me, and she almost killed it out of habit, but stopped when it positioned itself behind my head.
"Say hello to the new members of the family," I said with a light smile.
Kaera tilted her ears and looked at me with a slight frown, as if unsure she had heard me right.
But as soon as she saw Lime, who was still resting on my lap, her expression stiffened and she seemed ready to attack as she shifted into a combat stance.
"Stop!"
I patted Lime's soft, gelatinous head with my palm.
She responded with a cheerful "blupp," her body vibrating lightly.
"I hope everyone gets along. There's still a lot to do to expand the dungeon… but it's time to work."
I pointed toward the pile of waste accumulated in the corner.
She seemed to understand what I wanted and let out an energetic "Blupp!" before bouncing up with a lively movement.
It's pretty surprising how she can show such vivid expressions despite being a lesser slime, a creature considered mindless and driven only by survival instinct.
She moved toward the waste pile, and her body expanded like a viscous wave.
Her humanoid shape vanished completely as she engulfed everything.
Bones, chunks of meat, and scraps disappeared one after another inside her translucent mass.
After watching the process and estimating the time it would take her to digest everything, it was roughly fifteen minutes.
What had been a disgusting mound was reduced to nothing but a faint lingering smell.
Kaera stood beside me, watching the slime at work with a mix of relief.
I guess the stench had been bothering her a lot.
"Thank you so much, Lime. Without you, we would've had a hard time!" I said, letting out a soft laugh.
One less problem on my list.
Lime returned to her original form, but she looked quite tired from the way she wobbled.
When I tried to get closer, she jumped lightly before hugging me with her soft, cool body.
"What are you…?" I murmured, feeling her embrace tighten slightly.
At that moment, I felt the flow of mana leaving my body and flowing into hers.
She was absorbing what she needed to recover her energy, and she gave me an innocent smile that made me want to pat her head, just like I usually did with Kaera.
