The Lab – Peter & Tony
The new lab gleamed like a cathedral to science. Two stories of equipment. Rows of precision tools, robotic arms, fabrication pods, servers and entire walls of holographic projectors hummed with potential. Peter walked in like a kid at Christmas.
Tony leaned against a workbench, sipping an espresso. "Well? Not bad for a signing bonus, huh, Parker?"
Peter set his bag down, pulling out a vial of nanobots. "Not bad. But you've got a bottleneck."
"Oh?" Tony smirked. "Do enlighten me, freshman."
Peter tapped the holo-display, spinning up two designs: one glowing with arc-blue, the other with fusion-white.
" Arc reactor—efficient, proven, but limited output scaling. Fusion reactor—stable at high density, theoretically limitless, but tricky containment. You're using arc reactors because you can't maintain plasma stability in a small package."
Tony set his cup down, interest piqued. "And you can?"
Peter grinned. "I already did. In my basement."
Tony blinked. "…I really hate you."
" Not yet. Already made a gravitational containment unit. Scaled to the size of an average apartment. Now you can hate me." Quipped back Peter.
Tony spit out his espresso and takes a seat. " I now loathe you."
They went back and forth, slinging equations and insults.
Tony: "Arc is elegant, fusion is messy."
Peter: "Fusion gives exponential growth. Arc is training wheels."
Tony: "Training wheels that keep me alive."
Peter: "Then let me build the bike."
By the end, Tony was half-grinning, half-scowling. "Kid, you realize this lab is now officially my second most dangerous investment?"
"What's the first?"
"You."
New York Streets – Spider-Woman's New Debut
The night screamed with chaos. Sirens, overturned cars, and a gang of thugs with illegal black market equipment tearing through storefronts.
Police cordoned off the area. " What are we seeing here?" Asks Captain Stacey. " Vulture tech. Unstable and dangerous." Reports a constable.
Then came the shadow.
Spider-Woman dropped from the rooftops in her new armor, plasma appendages flaring to life with a hiss of energy. The crowd gasped.
"Holy shit, she upgraded!" Someone shouted.
The thugs laughed, raising weapons until Gwen moved.
She blitzed forward, appendages slicing through guns like butter, each blade glowing cyan. Bullets pinged harmlessly off her regenerative shield, rippling hexagonal light across her suit. She swung one thug into another, webbing scattering wide like a net.
"Web mode: scattershot." She whispered. The shooters obeyed, coating the thugs in sticky yet strong web.
The cops halted mid-charge, staring. Cameras flashed. And on the front line, Captain Stacey froze, breath caught in his chest.
His daughter's voice carried from behind the mask, calm, muffled and commanding.
"Everyone, back. I've got this."
For the first time, he saw not just his little girl but a force that even the NYPD couldn't match. Pride warred with fear in his eyes.
"God help me." He muttered.
SHIELD – Observation
High above, from a surveillance feed, Nick Fury narrowed his eye. "Well. That's new."
Maria Hill crossed her arms. "Spider-Woman just jumped a few generation in tech overnight. That kind of leap doesn't happen without someone backing her."
Fury smirked faintly. "Or without Parker. Kid's backing her."
The streets were clear. Spider-Woman perched on a rooftop, the city buzzing below with chatter about her "Iron-Spider look."
Peter came beside her, grin wide. "Not bad for a test run. You only broke—what—two laws of physics tonight?"
She rolled her eyes, still glowing with adrenaline. "You saw their faces? Like they'd just seen a goddess drop out of the sky."
"Goddess, huh?" He teased. "Don't let it go to your head."
She elbowed him. "Says the guy building fusion reactors for fun."
They laughed, shoulders brushing. Down below, the city reeled from the sight of their upgraded protector. And somewhere in the crowd, Captain Stacey stared up at the rooftop silhouette of his daughter, pride and dread etched across his face.
The world had changed tonight.
And it had Spider-woman's name written all over it who in extension was his daughter.
