Chapter 429 - Chapter 429

Flap!

"Congratulations, you guessed right. I'm Harry!" The man in green armor grinned wide, applause echoing through the shattered hall. "But now, I've got a better name—Green Goblin."

His crimson eyes glowed like live coals as he tilted his head, wearing a manic smile that could freeze blood.

"As for your reward… I'll send you off early. Consider it a mercy kill, so you don't have to suffer too long. Heh."

"Wait—no, don't—!"

Before the man in the designer suit could finish, a flash of green light lanced out from Goblin's fingertip. The laser cut clean through his forehead. He collapsed instantly, blood pooling under his cheek.

"Damn it! He's insane!"

"Kill him! This is self-defense!"

Panic exploded across the room. Every bodyguard drew their gun, aiming up at the floating figure on his glider.

Green Goblin only sneered. "How pathetic. Sitting at the top for so long you've gone soft in the head."

He folded his arms, hovering just above them like a devil watching ants burn.

"Fire!" someone screamed.

But the gunfire never came. Instead—

"AAAAAAAAH!"

The screams rose sharp and raw. Everyone spun toward the source—and froze.

A purple mass oozed through the shadows, dripping with malice. Dozens of black tendrils lashed out, wrapping around the guards' necks and hoisting them into the air.

"Ahaha, look at them squirm," the monster growled. Rows of white fangs gleamed through the dripping maw. "So fragile… and so fun."

It was Venom.

He squeezed, and the sound of cracking bones filled the hall. The lifeless guards hit the marble floor like broken dolls.

Green Goblin clapped once, grinning ear to ear. "You see? I told you, didn't I? We make quite the team."

Venom chuckled darkly. "You weren't lying, Goblin. So, same deal—Spider-Man and that brat Ryuuto?"

"Exactly. Those two have gotten a little too comfortable."

Venom's tongue flicked across his teeth. "Then I'll start sharpening my claws."

The remaining executives, pale as ghosts, stumbled back. One of them dropped to his knees. "Please, don't kill us! Money! I'll give you anything you want!"

"Money?" Goblin barked out a laugh. "You think we need your toilet paper?"

He doubled over, laughing so hard it echoed against the walls. Then he straightened and gestured lazily to Venom.

"Let's show them how generous we are."

"With pleasure."

Three tentacles whipped out, grabbed the kneeling man and his two partners, and smashed them against the floor. Three heads rolled away, leaving streaks of red across the tiles.

"Everyone else—on the ground!" Green Goblin snapped. "Try anything clever, and you'll join them."

The survivors collapsed instantly, trembling. Goblin inhaled deeply, grinning wide. "Ahh… I really do love the smell of fear and blood."

Venom chuckled. "Then let's call in some new guests to enjoy it with us."

"Excellent idea." Goblin's eyes flashed. He tossed a handful of pumpkin grenades to Venom. "Strap these to our friends here. Wouldn't want them dying too soon."

Then he grabbed a luxury phone from the table, fingers flying over the screen. Using a hacked network, he dialed a number.

"Hello?"

On the other end, Ryuuto picked up mid-run, sprinting toward Oscorp with Gwen beside him. His brows furrowed—unknown number. Bad feeling.

"Guess who?"

Ryuuto rolled his eyes. "Green Goblin, you bored clown. You chug some cheap serum and now you think you're the main character?"

Even over the line, he could hear Goblin's breathing spike with rage.

"Ryuuto…" the villain hissed after a long pause, voice cold as steel. "You seem to be living comfortably. Let's see how righteous you really are. Come save these fine people, hero—or I'll start a live killing show."

"Help us! Please!" the panicked cries bled through the call, followed by Venom's laughter.

Ryuuto's grip on the phone tightened. "Fine, you bastard. Tell me where. I'm coming."

"Good," Goblin whispered. "I'll be waiting."

The line cut.

Ryuuto looked at Gwen, determination burning in his eyes. "Let's end this."
