Chapter 83- Signs Of War (Part 5)
It took Jack around 15 minutes to make it back to the base. His broken leg made running extremely hard, and with the constant earthquakes, the roads splitting open and swallowing everything, and even the buildings falling on top of his head. Jack had to take detours, avoid populated streets, and any possible path that could be his demise.
It was tricky, but with some maneuvering and intelligence, he was able to pave a path back to the base. Luckily, the base itself was situated far away from any buildings, so it wasn't threatened by the falling structures. Also, since its bases were sturdy, the earthquake didn't destroy most of the buildings inside.
However, upon reaching the area, he was horrified by the scenes. The road had split open in the middle, running all the way to the base, destroying the main wall and penetrating it. He could hear screams inside mixed with the violent earthquakes and the sound of pulsating energy above his head.
