Chapter 7 – Blessing of the Sun and the Infant of Destiny
The first dawn after Ganga vanished painted the sky above Anga in molten gold.
Radha opened her eyes to the glow filtering through the small window of their modest home. The air itself felt different—warmer, alive—as if the morning carried a silent hymn.
In the cradle of woven silk lay the child they had found by the river. His tiny hands reached toward the sunlight streaming through the lattice. The rays curved gently around him, bathing his form in soft brilliance.
Adhiratha watched, astonished. "Radha… do you see? The light bends to him."
Before she could answer, the brightness intensified. A warmth—gentle but commanding—filled the room. The couple instinctively bowed their heads.
A majestic voice echoed, calm as the endless sky.
"You who chose love over fear, your devotion has reached even me."
The golden light condensed into a radiant form—Lord Surya himself, blazing yet benevolent. His eyes carried the serenity of eternity, and every shadow fled before his presence.
Radha trembled, clutching the child. "D–Deva Surya…"
"Fear not, Mother of my son," Surya said kindly. "Your hearts were tested by the river's goddess and found pure. Because of your love, I may now bless you openly."
He extended his hand, and golden motes drifted into the air, weaving symbols of light that circled the family.

Karna's infant body shimmered with faint sun-patterns, his heartbeat syncing with the rhythm of celestial fire. His skin gleamed faintly, his breathing steady as if every inhale absorbed sunlight itself.
Surya's voice softened. "My son carries a destiny vast as the heavens. Yet even suns need warmth to shine. Give him love, not worship."
He turned to Adhiratha. "And you, mortal of steadfast spirit—though the world may mock your station, know this: even a charioteer can steer destiny. My radiance shall shield your home."
A sigil of light appeared briefly on Adhiratha's brow before fading. Then Surya looked upon Karna once more, his expression neither prideful nor sorrowful—only filled with quiet certainty.
"When the time comes, the world will test his heart more than his strength. Remember, Child of Light: the sun does not chase shadows—it simply shines."
With those words, Surya's form dispersed into a cascade of golden petals that merged with the morning sun. The house fell silent again, save for the faint hum of divine energy lingering in the air.
Radha touched the baby's forehead. "He blessed you himself, little one… the Lord of the Sun."
Karna blinked up at her, cooing softly. The system's screen flickered faintly within his sight.

He couldn't understand words yet, but the warmth inside him told him one thing clearly—he was safe.
Days passed in tranquil rhythm. Whenever the sun rose, the small house filled with golden light, though its beams never burned. Plants near their home grew faster, the air smelled cleaner, and even the sick neighbors felt relief when they stopped to look at the infant.
Radha often laughed softly, "Our Karna is lucky for everyone around him."
Animals too seemed drawn to him—birds perched near his window, and stray calves nuzzled his blanket without fear. Adhiratha would watch quietly, awe and pride blending in his gaze.
"Perhaps," he said one evening, "the gods truly sent him not to test us, but to bless us."
At night, when the couple slept, faint runes shimmered above the cradle.

And somewhere, high beyond mortal sight, the Entity that once granted him rebirth whispered into the starlit void:
"The first thread has settled. The child of the Sun walks the mortal path once more."
