Chapter 44 - KRYPT-Ch.44: A-Grade Mission Evaluation

Matthew Atkinson & Natalie Russell

Oxford

At the training ground of the University of Oxford Supernatural Division.

More and more students received their mission grades and rewards of the first layer of the supernatural realm.

Most people's overall evaluation was "C" or "B", and those who perform poorly will get a "D" grade evaluation.

For example, a group of students in Class C killed only one monster and received a "D" grade on the mission evaluation.

Of course, their final reward was pitifully small. Each team member received only 10 attribute points.

Such rewards were practically useless!

Attribute points were essential for supernaturals! Especially in the early layers of the supernatural realm.

Not only could the obtained attribute points be used to increase the four basic attributes, but they could also be accumulated and used to level up skills that could be upgraded.

Attribute points that could be obtained through training were limited, and over time, the boost to increase the training effects of the abilities obtained from Holy Land would be lost.

Then the attribute points gained through training would decrease to minimal points.

Therefore, it was critical to achieve high rankings and collect as many attribute points as possible in the first ten layers, which were relatively easier than the other layers.

In short, to become stronger, attribute points were essential.

This was also the main reason why, even though the supernatural realm was completely optional after the tenth layer, many supernatural people still went there to adventure.

Over time, more and more students received grades and rewards.

Ten minutes later, most of the students on the training ground reported their results.

However, the vice principal and other university staff wore frowns, with a hint of disappointment.

"This year's batch of freshmen isn't performing very well!"

One female professor couldn't help but mutter, "Isn't there even one student who received a Grade A in the comprehensive evaluation?"

Another female professor next to her said immediately, "The promising student with the best chance of getting an A-level Grade is paired with a teammate with the useless ability. What a shame..."

The conversation between the two easily reached the vice principal's ears, making his already unhappy expression even uglier.

Of course, the female professors did this on purpose. Many professors coveted the position of head coach of the freshman classes.

It was not just about better pay. There were long-term benefits too!

If they could establish a professor-student relationship with these talented students, when the students became influential figures in the future, professors could also benefit.

For example, the vice principal.

The fact that he could become the vice principal was inextricably linked to the fact that he had once mentored a talented student. A student who became an influential person now!

Just as the vice principal was considering replacing the head coaches of Classes A and B, a new incident occurred on the training ground.

"Professor, we have received the mission grades and rewards from the supernatural realm."

Filip Walker from Class A suddenly spoke out loudly. And he had a confident smile on his face.

His other teammates also looked happy.

Everybody could tell at a glance that these people's results must be very good.

Professor Grant also had high hopes for these talented students. She immediately walked over and read Filip Walker's mission result panel.

It only took a moment.

Professor Grant showed a look of surprise on her face and then announced loudly:

"Filip Walker, Denis Read, Yu Chong, Bobby Burns!"

"Killed Monsters: 173"

"Comprehensive Grade: A!"

"Overall Ranking: 14th."

"Obtained Basic Reward: 159 attribute points."

As soon as these words came out.

There was a sudden cry of surprise at the training ground.

"What the hell? Overall ranking 14th? This is the global ranking of first-year students!"

"Such results are impressive even at the University of Cambridge or Imperial College London."

"Damm! Are they that powerful?"

"OMG! Did every one of them get 159 attribute points? Doesn't this make them stronger in one go?"

"I'm so envious! They gained more attribute points in one layer than I would in half a year of training."

It was not just the students who were envious. Or jealous.

The teaching and university staff were also surprised!

As for Filip Walker himself, a proud and complacent look appeared on his face.

As if telling everyone that achieving such results was just a normal thing for him!

After losing his memory of the supernatural realm, this guy regained his previous behavior.

He couldn't imagine that his current achievements were simply due to following Matthew and Natalie and taking advantage of the situation.

"Good! Filip Walker, Denis Read, Charles Francis, and Bobby Burns. All of you performed very well. As your head coach and professor, I am very pleased!"

Professor Grant was smiling.

She was the head coach of Class A and was under a lot of pressure.

The University of Oxford was a renowned institution that recruited students with exceptional abilities.

If she couldn't produce students with good grades, people would only think that there was something wrong with her methods!

After hearing what Professor Grant said, Filip Walker looked even more contented.

Then this guy proved that he didn't know what was good for him, and he actually looked in Natalie's direction and said arrogantly.

"It's ridiculous that someone actually rejected my invitation. I wonder how their current performance is?"

Hearing this, everyone was surprised, and then they all readied themself to watch the show.

Even a fool knew that someone Filip Walker was referring to was Natalie Russell!

Then, most people at the scene focused their attention on Natalie.

Everyone also wants to know what kind of results this stubborn "special student" could achieve with a teammate of useless ability.

At this point, the grades and rewards of almost all students on the training ground have been recorded.

Filip Walker's team was undoubtedly the most outstanding one.

Now, only Natalie and Matthew's mission results have not been reported.

Professor Grant felt a little troubled by Filip Walker's sarcastic remarks.

She didn't expect Filip Walker to be so petty.

Just because Natalie rejected his invitation, he actually mocked her on such an occasion.

Wasn't this just trying to embarrass her?

But!

Professor Grant had just praised Filip Walker, so it was difficult to say anything more now.

In addition, Professor Grant was also actually a little dissatisfied with Natalie.

She had advised Natalie so many times, but Natalie still stubbornly insisted on her own choice.

No professor would like such a disobedient student!

After hesitating for a moment, Professor Grant approached Natalie and asked, "Natalie, have your supernatural realm mission results been calculated yet?"

Now that all the other students' results have been recorded, only Natalie and Matthew remain.

They couldn't keep everyone waiting here.

Hearing Professor Grant's question, Natalie looked embarrassed.

The girl was intelligent, and, of course, she knew what Professor Grant meant.

But.

She had indeed not yet received the mission results from the supernatural realm.

Matthew was also very curious about this.

In his view, his current strength was enough to beat any other freshman. Coupled with Natalie's Flame-Flame Fruit ability, even if he couldn't get outstanding results, he should not be worse than others!

Could it be that the first layer of the supernatural realm was not focused on strength?

Could it be that he had not failed to deliver on his promise to Natalie that he would get her the best results ever, but he had also gotten a terrible result?

"Not yet."

Natalie had just finished speaking, and Filip Walker, who was not far away, sneered.

"Did you really not receive it? Or are you afraid of being embarrassed and dare not reveal it?"

Filip Walker had a smug smile on his face and deliberately said loudly, "Let me guess, it's a D-rank mission grade, right? You feel it's not worthy of your status as a user of the Flame-Flame Fruit, so you plan to... eh? Huh?"

As he spoke, Filip Walker was suddenly taken aback, and then his expression turned to horror!
