The trio slowly chased after Yuki.
As Yuki got out of the trap, he shouted, "Push!"
The walls slowly started to close in on the trio.
As they got closer to Yuki, the heavy wall squeezed them and fully pinned them between the desks and wall.
"Auw, auw."
"It hurts."
Taka climbed onto a desk and looked down with a smile. "Can you move?"
"Ghh, I can't, obviously."
"Oh, is that so?"
While they bickered, Yuki also climbed onto a desk and looked at the trapped duo. "You two okay?"
Koki nodded, and the blue-haired one rolled his eyes. "Yeees, not even a scratch."
"Good to hear—"
Yuki felt a heavy gaze and turned his head. It was Sensei-Hue. Her eyes clearly told him not to stall.
'I'd better not keep them there any longer.'
He skipped the small talk and sped up the process with an awkward smile.
"Now, can you three use your full strength to break free?"
"Okay." x2
As Taka climbed down from the desk, Ruda frowned. "What?" He hadn't heard properly as he was complaining.
"Hnnnng." x2
The duo pushed the trap wall with all their strength.
But half of the class was holding the wall steady, and every book and heavy object had been stacked onto the tables, making them even heavier.
Seeing them, Ruda understood and started pushing. "Hnnng."
But the table walls didn't move..
"Gaah." Ruda's face flushed red, yet he kept pushing.
'That should be enough, right? Hopefully…'
Yuki walked around the trap walls as the students kept them firmly in place.
'Zombies are much weaker at this point in the story, but… I need Haru's thoughts.'
After the trio got out of the trap, Yuki asked the class what they thought. He asked if they found anything off about the plan.
Most of the class stayed quiet. They weren't in the mood to do anything beyond completing Sensei-Hue's tasks.
"We should use all the belts and backpacks to tie the tables tighter.."
"Should we use scissors to finish them?"
"Should we tie them up, or will we…?"
"What if…?"
After listening and applying a few suggestions—mostly from Taka's group—Yuki stared at Haru with pleading eyes, like a puppy.
Haru felt a strange feeling at how different he was acting.
'He's not Yuki.'
'If he wanted to harm us he wouldn't rescue us.'
'Then what does he want?'
Haru watched the puppy with his empty, dull eyes.
He wasn't sure what Yuki was.
Still he contributed, his life was on the line afterall, "We should keep using the phone's alarm during the lure…"
Yuki smiled proudly as he listened to Haru's suggestions.
Haru noticed the expression and averted his eyes.
Yuki remembered how strong Taka was and handed him the best makeshift weapon they had, telling him to aim for the heads if they escape.
Taka was surprised by Yuki's trust first but he accepted the spear as he giggled cheerfully.
…
Sensei-Hue lowered the phone through the window as she whispered, "Don't you dare die, brat."
As some time passed…
DNNNNG! DNNNNG!
DNNNNG!
GAAAAH!!
GHHHHAAWW!
With the alarm ringing, chaos rose again.
Students started pushing the wooden storage cabinet.
Haru watched Yuki's pale, slightly trembling body. It seemed like no one was going to stop him.
He looked scared, but he still refused to let anyone else to go outside. He used all his favors to became a bait...
Haru didn't care about old Yuki but he was unable to stop himself from thinking Yuki was up to something bad.
The wooden storage cabinet slowly opened halfway. "It's enough guys, thank you."
They wished him good luck.
"Be careful Yuki"
"Be back, wishing you luck."
Taka waved his hand with a smile, "Please don't die Yuki-san. "
Yuki smiled, "Thank you all, I'll be careful."
Everyone moved into their positions.
With the chaos outside, Haru slowly slipped the door open.
What he saw was…
Blood.
And horror.
He gulped with an anxious smile.
He didn't expect to feel scared that much.
The sky was filled with lifeless green clouds, and the corridors were illuminated by soulless green lights.
Beyond the windows, the world looked like dying.
Slowly, he peeked into the corridor.
'Ouw…'
There were two zombies and a… zombie with only her upper body, crawling on the ground near their class.
It was nightmare fuel for most, but Yuki tried to think of it like a game, like a novel.
He was already inside a novel. So, what was there to scare?
He saw the crawling zombie slowly dragging herself toward the other classroom. While the other two were heading toward the stairs.
As for the other side of the stairs… the corridor was still filled with several zombies.
'It's just a novel, it's just a novel…' he repeated to himself as he waited for the right moment.
The students couldn't see what he saw and wondered why he still hadn't moved.
'Was there a zombie close by? or was he scared and given up?
They all thought different stuffs.
The screams, the phone alarm, and the tap-tap footsteps were terrifying to all.
But thanks to Sensei-Hue's repeated instructions, they held their positions and stayed silent.
Until Yuki gave the command, they were going to stay on their positions.
But as time passed and Yuki didn't act, one of his bully friends couldn't bear the stress.
"Yuki wh—"
Before he could finish, Yuki disappeared from their sight, making the whole class panic internally.
As the crawling zombie entered the classroom and the other two reach to stairs Yuki left his place.
He walked toward the neighboring classroom, to one the crawling zombie headed to.
As he reached closer… one zombie at the far end of the corridor noticed him.
"Ghaaawh!"
Only two more noticed him with zombie's growling, as the other zombies seemed distracted by the alarm sound.
They started approaching him.
'Ops… It was going well.'
Yuki quickened his movement and reached the neighboring classroom's door.
The crawling zombie was near the entrance, walking toward the window, toward the alarm sound. 'Holy…'
Dozens of zombies were piled against the windows, all seemed like stuck while trying to reach the alarm sound.
'Please… don't turn your back.'
"Ghaaawh" the zombies on the corridor was getting near.
Without making sound, he slowly stretched out his hand and slipped the door shut.
Ssshk.
He turned around and saw the zombies were too close. A few more steps and…
Yuki didn't wait any longer. He run back toward his class but didn't fully enter. He peeked his face out and counted how many zombies were coming.
'One, three, five…"
***
'He's alive…' Haru saw him as he waited in his position, ready to push the table with the group he assigned.
"Be prepared. They're coming." Yuki quickly slipped through the narrow trap wall corridor.
Hearing him, everyone's blood ran cold.
One of Yuki's bully friends rushed, "He's here! Let's push now! What are we waiting for?"
A yellow-haired student shouted, "Are you f***ing kidding us? Follow the plan."
"Kagami! What did you say?!"
"Are you out of your mind right now?!! Get back to your place"
"Hey?!! They're here, fight later!"
"Ghaaawh!"
"Ghhrgh!"
As they heard their disgusing growling whole class shut their mouths with worry.
"What are we waiting for?!"
"There's one m—Now! Push! Push!"
Psssk! Pssssk! The trap wall shoved forward.
"Ghaawh!
Whaaghwh!"
"You gathered too many, Yuki!"
Seeing the zombies pinned to the walls, Yuki sighed with relief.
'Phew.'
Taka patted his shoulder, as he was still holding the makeshift spear, "You did a great job. Thank you."
"It's nothi—"
The alarm suddenly went silent, the alarm that was ringing all this time was stopped.
Every where became silent for a moment... expect their class.
The zombie growlings started to getting heard.
"Ghaawh!"
"Ghrawl!"
Their tap tap walking sounds started hearing.
Students panicked.
"W-what should we do?!"
"Should we run?"
"To where, what the hell?!"
"Can I borrow it?" he spoke as he took Taka's spear, as Taka was seeming lost in thoughts.
Yuki didn't even wait for a second and launched himself toward the desks.
He climbed onto a desk, looked down over the wall, and stabbed.
"Quick, quick, quick." he muttered again and again.
***
"Phew… that was close. Next time we should calculate the timing as we—"
He stopped.
"Eh?"
The entire class was staring at him.
Haru. Taka. Koki… even Sensei-Hue.
"W-what?"
They all looked at his blood-soaked body in stunned silence.
