Chapter 23 - chapter 23

Jungkook walked quietly through the halls, ignoring everything behind him. At last, he reached the Majesty's chamber.

The guards immediately bowed, but he didn't spare them a glance, simply pushing the doors open.

Inside, his father leaned against the huge bed board while his mother, the Luna of dynasty calmly peeled the skin of an apple.

At the sound of his steps, both their eyes turned toward him.

Jungkook bowed respectfully. Neither of them reacted—they only stared. Finally, the King lifted his hand, gesturing him to sit. But Jungkook didn't move an inch.

King Jeon: "The guards informed me of your presence, Jungkook. What is it about? A problem with the territories? Or something important?" His voice rang with authority.

Jungkook didn't blink. His voice came out cold but composed like always

Jungkook: "Something like that."

The King's posture shifted, curious but controlled.

King Jeon: "What is it?"

For a moment, Jungkook's gaze flicked to Luna. Then he spoke.

Jungkook: "Ari is carrying a pup."

Luna's hand halted, the knife digging slightly into the apple's flesh. She coughed softly, masking her surprise.

Luna: "Ari… the Chief's daughter?"

Jungkook gave a single nod. The air grew heavier, tension crawling through the room.

King Jeon: "So what of it? She carries a pup—this is natural, nothing unusual."

Jungkook: "It is," he admitted, pausing deliberately. "Now we must back off the alliance you set, Your Majesty."

King Jeon:The King's tone sharpened. "The alliance? Why would we back off, Jungkook? You question my word?"

Jungkook's eyes hardened but he was composed

Jungkook: "Ari is carrying Min's blood, Your Majesty."

The King's eyes widened.

For a brief moment, disbelief flickered across his face, but it quickly vanished.

His expression grew icy, unreadable, as he studied his son quitely as finding any lies but nothing came

Luna's grip tightened around the knife, her knuckles paling. Her face remained calm, but her eyes sharpened, colder than Usual.

Inside, a bitter storm grown..

She had noticed the closeness between Ari and Yoongi before, but dismissed it as meaningless..

Now the reality clawed at her. A mere chief's daughter, bound to the future of the Min family—the future advisor of the dynasty?

Unacceptable..

It wasn't jealousy, nor simple anger..It was distaste, a deep-rooted rejection of someone so low entering their ranks.

Her eyes darkened, a bitter chuckle echoing silently in her chest.

King Jeon: "Did they wish to mate each other?"

Luna's gaze snapped to her husband, startled by the question.

Jungkook's eyes lingered on her, then returned to the King. His tone was steady.

Jungkook: "They have wished it for years."

Luna suddenly snapped, unable to contain herself

Luna: "Do you think Advisor Min will accept her? She is nothing—just a worker's daughter! Do you think he will accept her so easily?"

Jungkook didn't waver at his mother words

Jungkook: "He will—if His Majesty gives his word, and withdraws from the alliance."

Luna's eyes narrowed, distaste burning in them. Why was Jungkook interfering? Why was he so intent on pushing this matter, leaving the King no room but to Agree ?

She knew her husband's weakness—mating and concern—and Jungkook was striking it ruthlessly.she couldn't stop herself

Then thought to spoke "No need, they

wi—"

But the King's voice cut through like a blade.

King Jeon: "I will take care of this." His tone was firm, absolute.

Luna's fist curled in silent fury. Nothing could be undone once the King gave his word.

Jungkook inclined his head.

Jungkook: "Then I shall leave, if there is nothing more."

He bowed, turned, and walked out. His face was impassive, but as he crossed the threshold, a flicker danced in his eyes.

A smirk ghosted over his lips. Everything had happened exactly as he thought..

At night:

the garden was quiet, its stillness broken only by the faint rustle of leaves..Ari sat there, lost in her thoughts, her heart heavy with a storm she couldn't calm..

But her thoughts snapped when a familiar voice cut through the silence.

Yoongi: "Ignoring me… and backing off from promises we made My Omega ?"

She didn't need to turn. She knew who it was. Instead, she kept her eyes down, her vision blurring with unshed tears.

Yoongi walked closer, slow but steady, and when he reached her, his hand rested gently on her shoulder.

Still, she didn't move—not even an inch.

Then, without a word, he sat beside her and pulled her into his arms. The moment he did, a sob escaped her lips..

He didn't stop her. He didn't question her. He just held her tighter, protective and possessive, as though shielding her from the world.

Ari: "We… we shouldn't meet—" she whispered slowly

Yoongi:"Why can't I meet my Omega…

and my pup!?" he said firmly

Her eyes widened instantly, shock flashing through her tearful gaze. She turned to him in disbelief.

Ari: "Y-you… k-know?" her words shuttered badly

Yoongi: "My parents too."

Her breath hitched, her body trembling.

Ari: "What?"

Yoongi: "Even His Majesty and Luna… they know. Another reason they made an alliance—was for you and me."

Ari: "You're lying, right?" She ask shockingly and her hands trembling slightly

Yoongi: "You think I'd ever lie about this?" said while looking into her eyes

Ari: "H-how…?" her voice come shaken

Yoongi: "I don't know how it happened. All I care about is this—we're going to get married soon. And then… we'll live happily together, with our pups."

Tears streamed down her face as she suddenly threw herself into his embrace. Yoongi smiled softly, hugging her back with all the warmth and certainty he had.

Yoongi:He chuckled softly and said "I'll speak with your parents tomorrow for your hand."

Her arms tightened even more around him, and he let out a small laugh, kissing the top of her head.

From far in the shadows, a figure stood silently, watching. Tears shimmered in her eyes, but a soft, genuine smile broke across her lips.

Yn: "Finally…" whispered to herself
