In the street game hall.
The arcade was lively with flashing lights and digital sounds. Children shouted, machines chimed, and the air was filled with the smell of snacks and electricity.
Fenric stood by the counter, buying a handful of game tokens before leading Saitama toward a row of fighting game machines.
"Teacher, why are we here?" Saitama asked blankly, his face filled with mild regret. "Weren't you going to test how much I've improved these past three years? Why a game hall?"
Fenric smiled calmly. "Before testing your strength, it's best to relax a bit. Let's play some games first."
In truth, Fenric had already decided how to approach his third mission.
The task was simple on paper — defeat the strongest.
And who could that possibly be, if not Saitama himself?
In One Punch Man, no enemy had ever survived Saitama's serious punch. No one had even come close.
There was no question — the bald demon king was the undisputed peak of all existence.
Which meant Fenric's target… was sitting right beside him.
Of course, beating Saitama through sheer strength was practically impossible. Even Fenric, with all his experience, couldn't see a path forward.
But perhaps there was another way — a clever workaround. Maybe the system didn't require a physical victory.
It was worth testing.
"Teacher, I don't know how to play this," Saitama said helplessly, staring at the blinking screen like it was some sort of alien artifact.
Fenric chuckled. "It's simple. You'll get the hang of it." He patted the seat next to him. "Sit down."
Saitama obediently took his place beside him.
"This stick," Fenric explained patiently, "moves your character up, down, left, and right. The A button is for punching, and the B button is for kicking."
Saitama nodded seriously. "Got it! Seems easy enough."
Fenric smiled faintly. "Easy to play, hard to master."
He slid a few coins into the slot and selected Street Fighter, the classic PK27 version — a game he hadn't touched since childhood, but whose muscle memory lingered in his hands.
"Alright," he said, cracking his knuckles. "Let's start."
Startu!
The match started.
As soon as Fenric's character lunged forward to attack, Saitama's fighter stumbled awkwardly in response.
Within seconds, Fenric had him pinned.
"KO!"
The bright red letters flashed across the screen, declaring Fenric the winner.
But instead of satisfaction, a small frown crossed Fenric's face.
No system notification…
So, defeating Saitama in a game didn't count as a win.
"Teacher!" Saitama complained. "Why can your character do those fancy moves? You didn't teach me that part!"
"Oh, you can do those too," Fenric replied. "You just have to combine the joystick with the buttons like this—"
"Got it, teacher! Let's go again!"
"Alright," Fenric said, amused.
Thirty minutes later—
"KO!"
Once again, the words of Fenric's victory appeared on the screen.
He had won every single match.
Saitama's hand-eye coordination was… abysmal. No matter how much he tried, he couldn't even land a proper combo.
After being utterly crushed for half an hour, even the endlessly calm Saitama began to look defeated.
"Teacher, you're too good… I can't beat you at all," he admitted weakly.
Fenric chuckled and patted him on the shoulder. "Don't worry about winning or losing. We're just here to have fun."
"Yes, teacher."
"Good. Let's go somewhere else."
...
The Shooting Range
Leaving the arcade, Fenric brought Saitama to a large, modern shooting club.
This time, Fenric planned to test whether victory through skill — specifically, marksmanship — would count toward his mission.
Among his many talents, shooting was one of his specialties.
With a firearm in his hands, his accuracy was near-perfect — not quite a "hundred shots, hundred hits," but close enough.
"Teacher," Saitama said, still looking confused, "are we here to relax again?"
Fenric smirked. "Exactly."
After paying for two shooting lanes, Fenric handed Saitama a pistol and led him to the range.
"Saitama, let's see who's the better shot. The one with more hits wins."
Saitama nodded. "Okay, teacher!"
When the signal sounded, Fenric raised his weapon, aimed steadily, and fired eight times in rapid succession.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
Eight perfect shots — all bullseyes.
The instructor's display showed Full Marks.
Saitama's eyes widened. "Wow, teacher, you're amazing!"
Fenric smiled confidently. "Your turn."
Saitama tried to mimic him — raising the pistol, squinting one eye, and firing in quick bursts.
When the results appeared, Fenric didn't know whether to laugh or sigh.
Eight shots.
Three actually hit the target. Two barely grazed the edge. The rest were off in the distance — one nearly hitting the ceiling.
Even Saitama blinked in confusion. "Eh? I thought I aimed straight…"
Needless to say, Fenric won.
But once again, the system remained silent.
No prompt… So this doesn't count either.
…
Fenric tried several more things that morning — arm wrestling, chess, cooking, even karaoke.
Every time, he crushed Saitama completely.
Every time, the system ignored him.
By noon, Fenric could only sigh.
"It seems," he muttered, "that I'll have to use my last resort."
"Teacher," Saitama asked curiously, "where are we going to play next?"
Despite losing everything so far, Saitama looked genuinely happy. He hadn't realized how many fun things there were to do outside of fighting.
Fenric gave him a small, unreadable smile. "Relaxation time is over. We'll eat first — then head somewhere… quiet."
At those words, Saitama's expression immediately turned serious. "Understood, teacher."
…
After a brief lunch at a high-end restaurant, the two took to the sky — literally.
With a sharp whoosh, Fenric and Saitama cut through the air like two comets, leaving shockwaves in their wake.
At that altitude, the wind pressure was enough to crush ordinary people.
But to these two monsters, it was nothing.
"Teacher," Saitama called out over the roaring wind, "where are we going?"
"Somewhere no one can interrupt us," Fenric replied.
Twenty minutes later, they descended upon a remote island — an uninhabited desert of rock and sand surrounded by endless ocean.
Fenric landed lightly, his coat fluttering in the salty wind. "This place will do."
Saitama landed beside him, his yellow hero suit flapping.
"Saitama," Fenric said slowly, turning to face his disciple, "this time, we're going to have a real duel. Show me everything you've got. I want to see your true strength."
Saitama's easygoing demeanor vanished. His expression hardened, his stance shifted, and his eyes — once dull and unfocused — now gleamed with sharp intensity.
"Yes, teacher."
He hesitated for a moment, worried his punch might hurt Fenric. But then he remembered — this was his teacher.
Surely, someone capable of teaching him could handle anything.
Saitama nodded firmly, tightening his gloves.
At that moment, Saitama's eyes were burning with excitement — a rare flicker of true fighting spirit.
He felt it at last — that long-lost thrill.
Finally… a chance to go all out!
Seeing Saitama's serious expression, Fenric couldn't help but feel a chill crawl down his spine.
Damn it…
The Bald Demon is actually serious!
Even Fenric — a man who had faced countless monsters, gods, and nightmares — instinctively tightened his guard.
Still, he did not retreat.
Fear was a stranger to him.
And besides, the choice of battleground wasn't random — it was part of his plan.
This deserted island sat in the middle of the ocean.
And the sea… was Fenric's home field.
In other words, he already had half the victory secured.
Fenric reached into his coat and took out a folded piece of white cloth. He handed it to Saitama.
"Teacher, what's this?" Saitama asked curiously.
"It's a signal flag," Fenric explained. "If you ever feel your life is in danger, raise it immediately. That means you surrender — and I'll stop instantly. Understood?"
Saitama nodded earnestly. "Got it, teacher!"
He tucked the cloth away carefully.
"Good," Fenric said, stepping back. "Then… let's begin."
The words had barely left his mouth before Fenric's fist slammed into the ground.
BOOM!
The entire island shook violently. Cracks raced across the surface like spiderwebs, and the sea around them began to churn.
Saitama tilted his head. "What kind of move is that, teacher?"
He didn't understand Fenric's attack — but he didn't need to.
The teacher had made the first move, so as the disciple, he had to respond.
He would show his master just how far he'd come in the past three years.
(Fenric: No, I don't want to see it!)
With that thought, Saitama vanished.
Literally — gone from sight.
His speed was so absurd that even Fenric's enhanced perception couldn't catch him.
Suddenly, every hair on Fenric's body stood on end. A bone-deep sense of danger surged through him — a primal, suffocating instinct of death.
His pupils shrank to pinpoints.
For the first time in a long while, Fenric truly felt it.
He was about to die!
"—Serious Punch!"
Saitama's voice echoed like thunder in his ears.
When Fenric's eyes locked onto him, all he saw was a fist.
A fist that could shatter the heavens, tear apart dimensions, and erase everything in existence.
And that fist was already inches from his face.
You've got to be kidding me!
Fenric's mind screamed. This bald bastard actually means it?!
He had told Saitama to go all out — but that was supposed to be figurative!
Is he really trying to kill his own teacher?!
There was no time to complain.
In the next instant, Fenric activated his ultimate life-saving ability:
Savage Charge!
Five seconds of absolute invincibility.
A golden shimmer rippled across his body just as Saitama's fist connected.
BOOOOM!!
A sound unlike anything in nature erupted — deep, resonant, and terrifyingly powerful.
It wasn't just an explosion — it was as if the heartbeat of an ancient god had awakened, shaking the very air.
Fenric's eyes widened as he witnessed the impossible.
Saitama's punch didn't just break matter — it erased it.
Everything within its path — earth, air, stone, even moisture — was reduced to subatomic dust!
A straight line of annihilation carved through the world, leaving only void in its wake.
Everything… except Fenric.
The invincibility buff of Savage Charge held strong.
Not even a single hair on his head was out of place.
Invincible Fist vs. Invincible Buff!
And this time… the Buff won.
It wasn't that Saitama's punch wasn't powerful — it was beyond godlike!
But Fenric's invincibility came from the Golden Treasure Chest, a power that transcended planes. It didn't matter what kind of attack it faced — it simply couldn't be broken.
When the dust finally settled, half of the island was gone.
Completely obliterated.
In the direction of Saitama's strike, there wasn't a trace of earth left — even the sea had been blown apart, exposing the ocean floor beneath. Massive whirlpools formed as the water rushed back, creating a chaotic, roaring maelstrom.
And in the midst of that chaos, Fenric stood unharmed.
Not even a speck of dirt on his clothes.
"OHH!!"
Saitama's jaw dropped.
"Teacher! You're incredible!"
His eyes gleamed with pure excitement.
Since the day he became "invincible," no one — not a single being — had ever survived one of his serious punches.
Even his ordinary punches could reduce monsters to paste.
Yet his teacher… stood there completely fine.
Saitama's chest swelled with joy.
Finally — someone who could endure his power!
Finally, he could fight seriously!
"Teacher!" Saitama shouted, tightening his fists. "I'm going to keep attacking!"
Fenric's face instantly darkened.
If he hadn't reacted fast enough earlier, that punch would've turned him into cosmic fertilizer!
This damn disciple…!
Of course, he knew it wasn't Saitama's fault.
In Saitama's mind, his teacher was always stronger — someone who could handle anything.
Sigh! It's all because of man's nature to show off!Fenric took a deep breath, adopting the authoritative demeanor of a teacher as he calmly said, "Come on, let me see your strength."The Savage Charge technique was extremely taxing. With Fenric's current physique, he could probably only use it a few times in a row.In other words, Fenric could still withstand a few punches from Saitama. He had just punched the island, activating his tremor ability. If he could hold out a little longer, the island would be destroyed. At that time, Saitama would have nowhere to stand!Fenric possessed the Ring of the Sea God, which allowed him to freely control the sea, making him virtually invincible. This was Fenric's plan!
