Logs were shopped one after another inside the forest, it was all happening under the day light, the Vikings started reconstructing the one furthest away from the camp, the western forest
"Why did they call this one the most dangerous of them? It is the furthest away from the Varish" said Seryon shopping logs
"It is far from the shelter as well" replied Doryon placing them side to side in a box of his "With our current strength we can't take back the other forest, nor can we build a shelter in plain sight between the rivers"
"Still, it is not that dangerous" replied Seryon
"The reason it is dangerous is because its placed quite close to the market" said Jason coming from behind with an empty box, he handed it over to Seryon taking the axe for it was his turn cutting the wood
"With how many visitors it gets daily, this place is bound to have some eyes on it," said Jason
"So, your saying, this place is as much useless as it is dangerous" said Seryon "I mean what is the point to use it as a defence line when it is cornering the continent"
"I, don't know actually" said Jason "I guess we shall know by the time we finish the reconstructing"
"I guess the reason the past chief did not reconstruct it is because he thought the same" said Seryon
"So, you're saying your brother is dumber than the past chief was?" said Jason provoking him on purpose
"That, what—that is not what I said don't twist my words!" said Seryon, his index finger pointed in the face of Jason
"What was the past chief on anyway," said Seryon "all those stupid actions of his, fighting his own people"
"Maybe he was consumed by his own might" said Doryon "Thinking that his words are unquestionable"
"But it is not like he got to where he is all of a sudden" said Seryon "He wore that robe most if not his whole life, he is royal blood after all"
"I wonder if he really was," said Jason
Doryon and Seryon looked at him is shock as Doryon went to shush him as Seryon checked the surroundings
Jason pushing his hand away and spoke saying
"What are you doing, his dead you idiots"
"Oh, if forgot" said Doryon moving back
"It's just," Seryon said, "that the absolute authority of royal blood is engraved into my mind" Scratching the back of his head
"Not me, I barely knew them for a month and they already fell" replied Jason "Anyways, what do you think of it?"
They stared each other for a moment before Doryon spoke up
"I don't know, I grew up hearing the old stories, the history classes telling us about their heroic deeds, I just, don't know anymore"
"You saw how he died, the other day. He had no such powers, he couldn't even force his own daughter to follow him, he just looked, pathetic," said Jason
"You haven't finished shopping them yet?" a voice spoke from behind Jason
It was Ramo, the blind eye tutor of theirs
"We were about to take the rest, sir" said Doryon loading the box he held in hand, and so did Seryon
Jason continued shopping them in half as Ramo sat beside them
"I do think the same" said Ramo getting them interested "Their might have been a royal blood with such powers back in the day"
"And where did they go?" asked Seryon
"Must've died," said Doryon
"What if they ran away?" said Jason, Ramo glanced to his side alongside the other two kids
"Why would they run if they are that strong?" said Seryon making fun of the stupid idea
"The same can be said about their death," said Jason
"Where could they run away?" asked Ramo leaning back with both his hands in the dirt
"I don't know, the dead lands? Birth more children strengthening their family" replied Jason
"If they did do so, with the Kazar's influence over there, they would've noticed such a thing and would have probably killed them" said Ramo
"Plus, the harsh weathers of the desert would've made it harder for them to live, what we do know is that they hold strong muscles, not brains" said Seryon
"Wont the Kazar use them to their advantage? I mean with a strong ally like them, the Varish won't stand for long," said Jason
"You do know that we hate them as much as we hate the Varish?!" said Doryon
"Yeh but our current problem is the Varish, and so is theirs, that is what old man Vonir told us the other day," said Jason
"As you said, it is the current problem" said Ramo" They must have had different ones back in the day that made them unable to do such a thing" he stood up saying it
"I do agree that most man would grip into flames if cornered" said Ramo "But sadly, children's stories aren't going to save us, it is our duty to work it out somehow" he went away leaving them shopping and stacking the wood
The three of them held full boxes in hand as they went towards the reconstructing site, it was almost fully built, a huge stable, beside it sat two dorms, Jason froze in place
"What's wrong?" asked Seryon
Doryon seemed to remember something, he went nearby Seryon's ear and whispered
"I heard from old man Vonir that this was the used designed back in the day. And as you know, Jason grew up in one of them"
Seryon's face darkened as he went forward, he stared Jason for a moment
Bam!!
He kicked him forcing him to fall on his back
"What the heck was that!" said Doryon "are you deaf?!"
"If he wishes to, he can go back to the dark and cold space out their!" said Seryon "But I am not shopping anymore logs! We've built it already we're sticking with it"
Seryon went towards the light, where the stable was alongside the others
Doryon came towards Jason who started picking the scattered logs back and stacking them side to side in the box
"I can manage to get you something warm so you can pass the night" said Doryon "They will understand your situation and something will be changed with enough momentum"
Doryon watched as Jason picked the box and moved forward
"You don't have to force it" said Doryon to Jason
"I am no wingless bird" replied Jason
"…. HUH!??" Doryon was confused and speechless
"Let's go" replied Jason going inside
Inside the light, the crowd seemed happy, it did not have the most pleasant of food, not fancy meals, no tables covered in meat and vegetables, just ordinary soup giving each of them their share
Jason took his share and sat on the table, others were already eating and having fun
Seryon was walking with two bawls towards the door as Doryon went inside putting his box aside
"Where are you going?! And where is Jason?" said Seryon surprised
"Inside obviously, where are you going holding these two bowls?" relied Doryon
Seryon replied "They told me to hand your shares"
"Oh, ok thanks" replied Doryon taking his and going towards Jason
"Wait what…. Oh" Seryon saw Jason, he decided to join the same table as well
They ate in silence for a moment, Seryon decided to open up a conversation saying
"So, trauma kid, did you eat food similar to this back at your camp?"
"What the heck man!" replied Doryon
"I am trying to be social; don't be such a softy he is not made of egg shells" said Seryon
"No, it wasn't this warm," said Jason
A cup of iron was hit; the sound echoed through out the space, looking up, the night sky wasn't visible any more, the roof finished announcing the first building completed
The one to grab their attention was Ramo
"Tonight, Is the first of many" said Ramo "The first night where we finally step out of the safe zone, fighting ours fears"
"I shall declare the first pillar bridging our future, has been built!"
This was a celebration, cups danced across the room reflecting the lights, laughs were followed by screams of happiness, the cup brought back their attention once more
"Now, to the important stuff" said Ramo "I am sure most of you asked this question already"
The room went silent
"What is this camp supposed to help with?" said Ramo "We shall break any contact between the Varish and the market"
"As long as you have legs to stand on, no carriage shall go untouched, we shall depart by sunrise, and disappear by sun fall, this is going to be your daily routine" said Ramo as whisper started breaking the silence
"Sleep well" Ramo went away with those last words
People started talking about how excited they were, some already went out choosing to sleep early, others took their rusty blades sharpening them
"Well, that was unexpected" said Seryon going continuing to eat of his plate
