Chapter 167 - Chapter 167: Abo-Kado

"Brother, this guy is strong." Though Abo and Kado were teaming up against Piccolo, Piccolo's power level was now nearly two million.

At this point Abo and Kado, who were only stronger than Ginyu, stood no chance. If they hadn't hidden part of their power in front of Frieza and relied on some odd abilities, Piccolo would have finished them already.

Abo and Kado hadn't yet reached the OVA "Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return!!" level, where they had power on par with Frieza's final form.

They could even go toe-to-toe with fused Gotenks, playfulness aside. Still, Abo-Kado were indeed very strong then.

At least stronger than Z Fighters like Krillin and Yamcha, who had been phased out. To reach Frieza-level power in just over a decade meant Abo and Kado's talent was no joke. In this universe, most people can only dream of hitting five figures in battle power in a lifetime.

"What do we do, little brother? The two of us still aren't his match. If we keep this up, the ones getting taken out will be us."

"We can only use that move!" the two slime-headed, comically designed brothers, Abo and Kado, said in unison.

"No matter what you try, there's only one end for you—death. You're facing Namek's strongest warrior. In other words, I am the strongest Namekian." Piccolo wasn't Goku—he had no habit of waiting for an opponent to power up.

Throughout Dragon Ball, Piccolo was never just a brawler—his IQ was high. He outthought Goku in many ways, especially in the Androids arc when he probed Cell's identity and abilities while fighting his first form.

Granted, somehow he got caught by Solar Flare and lost mobility briefly, letting Cell escape—even though back at the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament, Goku told Tien he could still read movements through Solar Flare.

And sure, he acted a bit goofy when he first met the Supreme Kai in the Buu arc, but after that he trained Trunks and Goten in Fusion and made big contributions against Buu.

So for Piccolo, delaying for time or waiting on big moves was pointless. He wouldn't give you the chance.

Without another word, he launched a fierce, precise assault on Abo and Kado again.

Unfortunately for him, Abo and Kado's ultimate trump card was fusion—their racial gift.

After a flash of brilliant light, red and blue turned to purple.

Huh. Looks like they learned their primary colors well.

And the gross, villainous mug with Dodoria's sea-cucumber chin sprouted below the jaw appeared in front of Piccolo.

The two boyish designs fused into the look of a sleazy middle-aged creep.

But their power did skyrocket, at least enough to fully absorb Piccolo's surging offensive.

"So strong. This is fusion? You actually reached parity with me?" Piccolo said, a touch unwilling.

"Equal to you?" the fused Abo-Kado—now renamed Abokado, a purple, double-chinned fat uncle—snorted.

"So fast!" Under Piccolo's astonished gaze, Abokado's speed and power climbed another tier.

If Piccolo could still fight Abokado to an even match before, now he was fully on the back foot.

The opponent was overwhelmingly strong.

"Pui Pui—the cosmic demon species that lives under ten-times gravity. Strictly speaking, you're a bit related to Frieza's Frost Demon race." Frieza's final deployed unit had also encountered a force of similar might—

Musashi's Chimera Ant Army.

"So you know me. Then you must be the ants Lord Frieza mentioned," Pui Pui said, eyeing Musashi and the many elite Chimera Ants behind him.

"But you won't beat the Frieza Elite. We're not like the trash you fought before—we're the cream of the Frieza Force. Die obediently, and I might make it quick."

"That's what stock villains always say." Musashi sneered, his attitude and tone infuriating Pui Pui.

"Enough talk. Let strength decide." Musashi slowly drew the demon blade Muramasa at his waist.

"Hahaha! The strongest Namekian? Is that all?" Abokado dangled the battered, bloodied Piccolo in one hand, shaking him mockingly.

Abokado hadn't reached Frieza's level yet, but his fused power hit five million. Their fusion wasn't a simple sum.

Piccolo was indeed powerful, but Abokado had him beat.

Like a rag doll, Piccolo was flung aside. Purple light gathered at Abokado's fingertips.

"Namekian, use whatever you've got. You lot are just pigs led to slaughter. Our coming to your planet is doing you honor. And you little nobodies dared attack Lord Abokado? Unforgivable."

"Damn it. How can this ridiculous-looking fatso be so strong?" Piccolo's vitality wasn't on Buu's level, but it was nothing to sneeze at. Even so, the severe damage all over left him unable to fight on.

More than the pain, what enraged him was the insult to his home—Namek. "Piccolo." Nail came to Piccolo's side. He had taken out Abokado's grunts early on. While Abokado himself was formidable, almost none of his troops cleared ten thousand. Nail finished them quickly.

But faced with Abokado's power over a million now, Nail felt nothing but despair. If even a subordinate of Frieza's was this terrifying, how powerful was their leader? It beggared belief.

So he made a decision.

"Let's fuse," Nail said softly. It was hard to imagine how much resolve that took.

All warrior-type Namekians can fuse. Unlike standard fusion, this has no time limit. Once fused, they truly become one, and even the Dragon Balls can't separate them. Kami once split off his evil half, the Demon King Piccolo.

But if the two re-fuse, they can never split again.

This technique is the Namekians' last resort—a racial gift. Those who choose it must make a tremendous resolve.

Only one of the two will be the main body—the stronger. The other's everything becomes nourishment for the first to grow.

Strictly speaking, the Namekian who becomes nourishment vanishes completely—soul and all.

In every sense, Nail's offer to fuse with Piccolo required immense resolve. Piccolo's power exceeded his; after fusing, Piccolo would be dominant.

Which meant that if they fused, Nail would disappear from this world entirely.

"No need." Piccolo was not as he was in canon. In the original, memory loss left him unaware of many Namekian secrets and mysteries. Now, after meeting the Grand Elder, he'd learned much—thanks to Namek's mystic arts.

Nail slowly placed a hand on Piccolo's shoulder. "You know how strong this guy is. In your condition, you can't win. And there's still that demon Frieza. Come—there's no choice. I can't pin all our hopes on outsiders. Namek needs Namekians to protect it!"

"Are you serious?" Piccolo looked at Nail's solemn face.

Nail didn't answer, only took one last look at the sky and the land he loved. "Then let's do it! We'll drive these invaders off Namek together! Let them taste the fury of Namekians!"

"Fusion!" Nail's body shone green, then turned wholly to light, which streaked into Piccolo.

"You green-skinned freaks—what kind of trick is that?" Abokado didn't know a thing about Namekian fusion and jeered again.

"My injuries… they healed in an instant. Not just the wounds—my stamina and ki too… This is even more miraculous than Senzu Beans." Piccolo, who had been unable to move a moment ago, now stood up as if nothing had happened. His cuts sealed before the naked eye, and even his torn clothes mended.

"I feel power surging through me." Feeling the torrent of ki within, Piccolo smiled.

"Abokado, is it? Then… round two begins!"
