Chapter 154 - Chapter 154: Dragon Ball Warriors vs. Saiyans

"Truly pathetic, Namekian." Nappa tossed the battered Piccolo, too weak to stand, aside like garbage.

"Vegeta, you said Namek also has balls that grant wishes, so this Namekian can be killed at will, right?" Nappa rubbed his gleaming bald head and asked Vegeta.

"Correct. If this Namekian won't cooperate, then kill him." Vegeta had no idea that far away on Frieza's homeworld, Frieza himself was already preparing to depart for Namek. In front of Frieza, Vegeta had zero chance of obtaining immortality.

And you must know Namekian to make wishes to the Namekian dragon.

Earth's Shenron doesn't require that, and those Dragon Balls are easier to gather. But if Piccolo dies, then Kami—who was once one with him—dies too. If Kami dies, Earth's Dragon Balls vanish.

So when he gave Nappa that order, he also sentenced himself to never realizing immortality.

What's more, Namek still had Nail, with a power level of 63,000. At a mere 18,000—35,000 after fighting Zarbon—Vegeta couldn't beat him.

"Heh-heh-heh… Then I'll twist his head off."

"Damn it. Spirit Ball!" Yamcha forced out his strongest technique with the last of his ki, but at this level it only tickled Nappa—barely.

"Pointless." It didn't hurt, but a move buzzing around him like a fly was annoying, so Nappa reached out and crushed it in one hand.

"If you're in such a hurry to die, I'll send you off first." Nappa casually tossed an energy blast at Yamcha. In his current state, Yamcha couldn't flee and was blown to bits.

"Waaahhh!" Watching a comrade die in front of him, and the enemy move to kill the "Uncle Piccolo" he deeply respected, Gohan finally exploded.

His power level spiked all at once.

"Masenko!" A massive wave of force blasted from enraged Gohan's hands, streaking straight for Nappa to kill him.

"What?" Though Gohan's power surged from rage, Nappa was at 8,000.

A sneak attack at that level could hurt him somewhat, but only slightly.

Especially against a high-level warrior like Nappa, with lightning-fast reactions.

Seeing he couldn't dodge, Nappa mustered his strength and slapped the giant ki blast aside, the recoil sending pain through his right hand.

This wasn't the 2,800 of the original—this was pushing 5,000.

"Ah-hahaha. Nappa, even you get careless—getting tagged by a brat." Vegeta, who'd been silent till now, spoke in mockery, though his tone was mostly teasing.

In truth, Nappa and Vegeta had always gotten along fairly well. Don't think Vegeta was heartless. Even early on, he valued bonds; otherwise why allow Raditz, a lower-class Saiyan at only 1,500, to keep following him?

At times his excessive pride blinded him. Only when he chose to self-destruct against Majin Buu did Vegeta truly mature.

Then he understood responsibility—that was the most admirable Vegeta.

"Damn brat! I'll kill you! Nappa Break Cannon!" Fury bulged the veins on Nappa's brow. Getting hurt by a little bug?

Unforgivable. He would crush the boy.

A huge destructive beam roared from Nappa's mouth, aimed at the exhausted Gohan who had spent all his energy.

Just as it was about to kill Gohan, Piccolo—who had been lying on the ground—stood again and resolutely stepped in front of him.

"P-Piccolo… Uncle." Gohan was stunned. He never imagined the stern yet caring Piccolo would lay down his life for him.

"Ah-hahaha. How touching. A mere Namekian really doesn't know his place. Whatever. Cowardly Kakarot never showed up—time to wipe you all out." Nappa didn't care what Piccolo and Gohan said. A ki blast formed in his palm as he slowly walked toward them.

He meant to finish them both.

"Hm?" At that moment, Vegeta's scouter chirped.

"Nappa, move! Several strong power levels are heading this way, from the Namekian's direction." The numbers startled Vegeta, and he barked a warning to Nappa.

"What? Is it Kakarot? Vegeta, how high?" Nappa asked, surprised.

"Power level… seven thousand!" Vegeta's face darkened. He tore off his scouter and crushed it.

Over 7,000—this scouter was useless now. Since their opponents so far weren't strong, the scouters Vegeta's group carried topped out at 10,000.

Who would have thought a remote backwater like Earth housed opponents this strong?

Seven thousand! Even in the Saiyans' prime, elite warriors were only around 10,000, and rare.

"What? Seven thousand? Impossible! The machine's broken. How could a place like this have someone that strong?" Nappa looked equally stunned. At his peak he was only 8,500.

An enemy at 7,000 was close to his level. If they fought, Nappa would survive, but he'd be badly injured.

"Nappa, machine or no, be ready to go all out. They're here." Trust Vegeta to believe in nothing absolutely—except his own strength.

As Vegeta finished, three figures appeared before Nappa.

Two tall, one short.

"Dad." Gohan, who had been crying over Piccolo, now showed a glimmer of joy.

"Yamcha, Piccolo… I think I get it."

"Goku, Piccolo isn't dead yet!" "A senzu—quick! Give him a senzu!"

Amid the scramble, Piccolo finally opened his eyes.

"Old Sun, you finally showed up."

"Leave the rest to us. These two are the Saiyans? Strong indeed. The shorter one—judging by ki, he's above me unless I use Kaio-ken."

"Vegeta, what are the other two's power levels?" Nappa asked.

"That little baldy is 6,500. The three-eyed one is 7,900." Vegeta's expression turned ugly.

Especially that three-eyed one being above Kakarot. But he didn't know Son Goku—Kakarot—could suppress his power.

Scouters aren't reliable.

In pure power, even together they weren't Vegeta's match. But… that such high power levels existed on this backwater planet irked him deeply—especially that one of them, a Saiyan, was helping outsiders—Kakarot.

Truly a disgrace to the Saiyan race.

"Goku, let me have the baldy. I'll avenge Yamcha!" Of the three, Krillin was closest to Yamcha.

Seeing his comrade's gruesome death, Krillin finally grew furious.

"Okay, he's yours, Krillin. Chiaotzu might need a bit to get here. We'll handle things for now. But be careful—that big bald one's ki is strong. Stronger than yours, at least." Chiaotzu had trained on King Kai's world too, but his gains were limited.

He was only a bit over 3,000. It wasn't for lack of effort, but constitution.

To reach the battlefield in time, Goku's trio came first.

Tien wasn't overly worried about Krillin's safety. The big bald man was stronger, but don't forget—Krillin could use Kaio-ken.

As long as they kept the short Saiyan from interfering, Krillin versus the big bald one was almost a sure thing.

"Just you? Little baldy, are you here to die?" Seeing Krillin step forward alone, Nappa grinned.

If he and the three-eyed one or Kakarot came at him together, it would be a hard fight.

But one-on-one, as long as Nappa wasn't careless, it would be a slaughter.

Would Nappa be careless now? With so many enemies near his level—this was when Nappa was at his best.

Because now, Nappa was dead serious.

"Little baldy? And you—Dead Bald?" Krillin shot back without flinching.
