Chapter 8 - Dreams, Drakes arrival

While sleeping in his medical bed, Rex's consciousness entered a dimension filled with pulled-up spirits—his very own dimension. In this space, which was bathed in a deep red hue resembling blood, he encountered Denzel. As Rex approached, Denzel asked, "Why do you carry this pain we see?" At that moment, Rex began to contemplate the question.

"In my world, I often heard about a good life and equality, but I never experienced them. I never had the chance to read books or novels, play video games, or even attend school. I've never had a girlfriend. In fact, I had to watch as my parents were killed.

I spent my days selling drugs, and if I made a mistake in the mixture, I could get beaten up. Food was hard to come by. Every day when I woke up, I wished I hadn't. Why wake up when all you find is hell? I refuse to let anything like that happen to me ever again. That's why I want the world for myself. In this new life, I will be the one in control, I swear." Everything was his thoughts and memories, then he woke up.

"Was that a dream?" he asked himself then. At that moment, Anna comes in with a barrel of water. "How are you doing, Rex?" She asks him. "How long have I been sleeping?"

Anna: You've been sleeping for 3 days straight. I bet you're tired from that.

She puts down the barrel of water and dips a towel in the water, and starts cleaning up Rex.

"Anna, it seems people are coming to this island. I should take a look; they might be bounty hunters." Rex speaks to Anna. "But are you okay to move?" she asks. Rex moves out of the bed, "I will manage, I need to change."

Anna: Your clothes are there at the corner of the sofa.

Anna looks at him, and immediately she spots something different in him, but she is afraid to comment. Rex takes the clothes and puts them on, only to find that the sizes are small and tight.

"My clothes don't seem to fit me, Anna," he says. Anna was surprised. Rex had gone taller in just a short amount of time, and the clothes she sewed for him don't seem to fit him. "Your clothes don't fit you; you're taller," she says.

Rex: So, what should I do now? I can't go out like this. I don't look like a pirate at all.

Rex looked like he was in panic. He didn't know what to do. "Be patient, I have something," she opens a nearby wardrobe and grabs a black coat and some boots, "with these boots, and black pants with a white t-shirt. "Wear this."

Rex: Ahhh, okay.

In the harbor, five boats were spotted, filled with bandits that could be seen from a distance. Now that Roknir was no longer under the protection of the Reavers, pirates believed they were free to attack the island.

However, as the five ships approached the harbor, steam began to rise from behind them, capturing the attention of the onlookers. Suddenly, a boat emerged from the steam.

"Well, looks like we have some bounty hunters. How fun," remarked Drake, along with his pirate crew.

"Look, boss, it's the Reavers," one of the bandits said as their ship drew closer. "What are they doing here?"

Their leader answered, and fear was evident on his face; the tension on the boat was so thick it felt tangible.

"Man, it looks like we have an obstacle in our way; they're blocking my view. Get rid of them!" Drake commands his crew. "Prepare to fire the cannons!" the vice-captain of the ship shouts, and the crew quickly rushes to their posts, readying themselves for action. "Boss, we should take out their ship before they start firing at us," the bounty hunters say, overcoming their fear and preparing for combat.

"Captain, we are ready to fire on your command," said the vice-captain. "Sorry, bounty hunters, but that kid is mine. Fire!" He issued the command with a shout, and the cannons began firing like rifles. The air filled with the scent of gunpowder, and one of the five enemy ships was destroyed.

The bounty hunters, witnessing the destruction of their vessel, retaliated by firing back at Drake's ship. Just as the cannonballs were about to hit, they transformed into steam and vanished, leaving Drake with a satisfied smile. "Fire!" he commanded again. The second round from Drake's crew struck with precision, taking out all the remaining bounty hunter ships. You could see the bounty hunters abandoning their vessels as the planks shattered and the sails ripped apart.

In the chaos, one cannonball veered off course and aimed straight at the harbour where the villagers stood in shock. As panic spread among the villagers, they began to flee. However, Rex appeared unafraid, confronting the cannonball head-on as he walked toward the harbour.

"Togue of the Undead: Wall of Skulls!" A red aura materialized in front of him, morphing into a mountain of skulls that blocked the cannonball, resulting in a massive explosion right in front of the harbour. Rex walks to the edge of the harbour and stands there as the wind blows with the explosion. And stand there waiting for them to approach.

Denzel appears, "Master, do not engage just yet, I sense no bloodlust from the coming ship." Denzel speaks. "So, you're saying they are here to talk?" Rex responds to Denzel, "Yes, master."

Rex said, "I want you to deliver a message for me. Tell the captain of that ship to stop where he is now, and I will come to him. However, if he doesn't want to talk, he should continue moving forward."

"I will ensure he receives the message, master," Denzel replied before teleporting away from Rex and into Drake's ship. Denzel stood far from Drake but spoke loudly enough to be heard as he delivered Rex's message.

From his position, Rex observed the sails being taken down and saw the ship come to a stop. "I guess they do want to talk. Denzel, you may return," Rex said. Denzel heard Rex's voice telepathically from Drake's ship and teleported back to him, placing a hand on Rex's shoulder before transporting both of them to Drake's ship.

As they appeared on the deck, Drake smiled and greeted them, "Welcome." Rex looked at Drake and recognized a familiar face. "It's been a while. How long has it been? Oh, three days," Drake said as he approached them.

"What do you want from me?" Rex asked as Drake drew near.

"I will see to it he gets the message, master." Denzel teleports away from Rex and into the ship of Drake. From where he is, his standing is far from Drake, but he speaks with a loud enough voice to be heard. And he speaks the message to him.

From where Rex is, he sees the sails being taken down, and the ship stops. "I guess they do want to talk. Denzel, you may return," from Drake's ship, Denzel hears Rex's voice telepathically. Denzel teleports back to Rex and holds him by the shoulder, and teleports him to the ship.

They appear on the ship. Drake sees them and smiles, "Welcome." Drake speaks to them in kind. Rex looks at him and sees a familiar face, "It's been a while, how long has it been? oh 3days." Drake speaks as he approaches them. "What do you want from me?" Rex speaks as he is approached by Drake.

"I will get to the details as we go inside and have a drink, plus I can see your height and looks have changed; you don't look like a 12-year-old anymore."

Rex: I don't know if I should take that as a compliment or not, but I will take your offer.

"Join me in my chambers," he walks toward the ship's doors. "Denzel, you should remain here. I'm fine by myself." Rex walks with Drake to his chambers
