Chapter 13 - Ch 13- Festival Cheer - Part 2

Every time the huge man moved, it felt like the world was moving with him. He looked like the kind of character that wouldn't fit a screen if he was in it.

And when I talked about being huge, I did not mean the man's height, but his mass as well.

'How is the ground not denting every time that man walks? Fuck-! How is he even moving around with all that fat? I doubt getting shot would even stop that man.'

I felt stunned as I watched the huge man… no, the huge pile of flesh coming our way.

Everyone else panicked and tried to run but a gunshot stopped us all. That was what snapped me out of my daze as well.

"No one move. Now, hand over all your valuables to my people. Oh, and don't think that the police will help you. They are too busy dealing with the curse of yellow."

The huge man told us all and I suppressed my shudder as the loud gunshot rang in the air again.

Usually, this was the time a hero was supposed to stand up and challenge such offenders. But there was no such hero at the moment.

And I was not about to become one either because I was a coward with a weak heart.

"Huh-! Is this all? This is even less than the last time. It seems that being under the protection of the police has made you forget all about fear and gratitude. If you don't give me something of value soon, then I will be forced to take your lives next."

The huge man threatened and everyone shivered. I also kept my mouth shut and that made the huge man frown.

"Now that I recall, I heard people talking a lot about something called a 'music box'. I will take it with me. So, where is it?"

The huge man asked and I felt my heart skip a beat.

I had every intention to not speak up, but it was not going to help me. Just because I did not want to speak up did not mean the others wouldn't snitch.

"A-Ah, that-? I know what you mean-! You see that shopkeeper in the last stall. It belongs to him. Y-You should go and take him and let us all go."

Another shopkeeper pointed toward me to try and divert attention away from himself. I wanted to curse these people, but it felt like it was too late.

My path was blocked before I could escape and people surrounded me from all sides.

The sound of loud footsteps echoed behind me and I tensed as I waited for the huge man to catch up to me.

"So you are the owner of the famed music box I've heard so much about? Then, take me to your shop. I want to see what 'magical tool' you have in your possession as well."

The man told me and I had no choice but to comply.

Even if I wanted to run away, where would I run? I had no destination or way to survive. So I had no choice but to take them all back to my shop.

Once there, I reached toward the door to enter, but a hand stopped me. I looked at the lanky man who was the cause behind this. But instead of getting answered by him, my question was answered by the huge guy.

"Tsk, why would we allow you to enter first and grab a weapon. One of us will enter first and then you can enter."

The huge man told me and I almost jumped back as I saw a hand reaching for the handle. The lanky man entered first, followed by me and then the huge man.

The rest of the gang just hung around outside, waiting for the people inside to finish what they were doing.

I was suddenly fearful about what would happen to me next. As far as I could tell, I had no choice but to hand over the music box.

Parting with something this expensive that I might not be able to afford again made me a little sad. But as long as I lived, I would have a chance to buy another one.

"Where is the music box? Show it to me."

The huge man asked and I pointed him toward the window where I kept the music box.

Large hands immediately grabbed the music box before they turned it around. A frown appeared on the huge man's face as he faced the box.

"Those who touch it with unworthy hands shall be punished…? What a ridiculous sentence? Is this some kind of curse I am supposed to be afraid of?"

The huge man frowned as he looked at the box in his hand. But I felt a shiver go down my spine when I heard those words.

It was possible that those words really were cursed.

After all, the box was something I had purchased through the system and the system was not a normal entity in the first place.

'Even if the box is not cursed, it's not like I can do anything about it.'

"Alright, we got the music box. What else can I get from here… tsk, all you have are these books. They are useless to me. Luckily for you, the music box will more than make up for it."

The huge man spoke before he signaled for the others to leave with him and just like that, I lost my music box.

But for some reason, the sinking feeling I often had when something bad happens to me did not happen. I was able to remain calm and collected.

Sigh

"I should go and keep my puppy fed now. Then, I will think about what to get next from the faith shop. I have 20 faith points, so surely I would be able to get something worthy this time as well."

I looked at my phone screen, only to see that the faith points had risen. I had about 50 faith points now, but I did not recall helping anyone out.

Anyway, I was not someone who liked to challenge good fortune. So I decided to go back to work and finish the day with going to sleep.

Tomorrow, I was going to use the time to not go out and sort my stuff. I also hoped to be able to find a book that I could read in the meantime.

And I was absolutely not going to think about what I had just lost to the huge man and his gang.

"Little puppy, I hope you grow up big and strong. But then again, I doubt you would be much help in front of a bullet… still, I might feel less lonely once you are able to keep me company."

I spoke to the puppy I was feeding in the middle of the night.

However, unknown to me, the huge man who stole my music box was having the worst time of his life. And it was all thanks to the sudden curse he had fallen under.

But I, who did not know that, went to sleep with a happy smile on my face.
