Seeing Eller seemingly lost in silence, Steve Rogers, the "Locust Man," thought the other party didn't believe him. But then, Eller's words surprised him.
"I believe you are the real Captain America." Eller's answer startled Steve Rogers, who opened and closed his mouth slightly and asked:
Why do you believe me?
The locust modification surgery performed on Steve Rogers was very different from the later modification surgeries. The biggest difference was that Steve could not return to human form, and his strength was also stronger than that of the second and third generation cyborgs.
"Sometimes, you don't need a reason to believe," Eller said, patting Steve Rogers on the shoulder.
"I believe you are real, Captain. I once saw your file at one of Hydra's research bases and knew that you were treated as experimental subjects by Hydra during that period. However, after 1998, there was no news of you."
"You're right. I was transported back to America after 1998. The last time I woke up was on a Hydra operating table. The worst part was that they had turned me into a locust monster. Luckily, they hadn't finished the brainwashing yet, so I managed to escape."
Steve Rogers fought Hydra alone for many years, and because of his terrifying appearance, he didn't even dare to see his friends and lovers.
Even now, Steve Rogers is still fighting Hydra alone, and only he knows the loneliness and worries he experiences.
Steve was overjoyed to meet this young man who knew his true identity.
"Alright, Captain, I'll take you to a safe place," Eller said, taking out his Spider Smartphone.
Upon hearing this, Steve said with some concern, "They have eyes and ears everywhere in New York. Will it be okay if I go with you...?"
"Don't worry, Hydra can't harm that person," Eller said confidently, as he dialed the number.
"Hey, Ancient One, I need your help..."
Eller recounted what had happened to Steve Rogers to the Ancient One, and then a portal made of golden sparks appeared out of thin air between the two of them.
"Let's go, Captain, let's go somewhere where we can chat safely."
After saying that, Eller led the real Steve Rogers through the portal, and the next moment, the two traveled thousands of miles to Kamar-Taj in Nepal.
The Ancient One, dressed in a yellow robe, had already prepared the tea and was quietly waiting for Eller and Steve to arrive.
"Welcome, Mr. Steve Rogers," the Ancient One greeted Steve with a smile.
Seeing this, Steve asked in confusion, "Do you have some superpower that allows you to foresee my identity?"
"Superpowers? No, you're wrong, Mr. Rogers, this is magic." The Ancient One said with a smile, "I've prepared a room for you, you can go and rest for a while."
After saying that, the Ancient One got up and left. "I have some things to take care of. You can come to the King if you need anything."
"Yes, sorcerer." Eller watched the Ancient One depart, then led Steve Rogers to sit down. "Sit down, Captain."
For Steve Rogers, this was a long-awaited moment of relaxation. He looked at the teacup on the table and said, "You don't really need to call me 'Captain' anymore. I don't have a shield, I don't have a suit, and I'm no longer part of the Howling Commandos. I'm a complete monster now."
"No, Captain, your burning human heart has never disappeared." Eller smiled slightly, pointed to Steve's heart, and then began to tell another story.
"Would you like to hear another story?"
"A story? Sure, I'll listen," Steve replied.
"That's another universe. Remnants of the Nazis have built a new force on an island nation. They despise the dignity of life and transform humans into emotionless killing machines. Among those who have been transformed is a college student with extraordinary abilities. He endures the pain of no longer being human while fighting against an evil organization..."
Hearing this story, Steve seemed to realize something. "You mean there are other people in this world similar to me?"
"To be precise, it's another universe, Captain. You should be able to accept concepts like parallel universes and the multiverse, right?" Eller added.
"Howard told me a bit about it." Steve nodded, then gestured for Eller to continue. "I'd like to know what happened next in this story."
"Later, that passionate young man was given the name 'Kamen Rider' in endless battles. Besides him, many others chose to follow the same path, and the number of Kamen Riders increased. The first one was called 'Number One', and later there was 'Number Two' and 'V3'."
Eller finished telling Steve a story, and the similar experience made Steve Rogers somewhat emotional.
"What a brave group of warriors..."
Whether the story is true or false, it's a comfort to Steve Rogers, who was forced into becoming a locust-like cyborg. Looking at the fox mask before him, he asked:
"So, you're one of those who inherited this title too?"
"Probably," Eller said, half-jokingly. "After all, foxes aren't exactly benevolent animals, are they?"
"You're a really interesting person. I haven't been this happy since I ran off the Hydra operating table."
Steve let out a long sigh, releasing the pent-up frustration and anxiety that had accumulated from fighting alone for so long. He picked up the teacup on the table, opened his mouth, and drank it all in one gulp.
"You can take a break in Kamar-Taj and maybe learn something useful," Eller said to Steve.
"Learn magic?" Steve was slightly taken aback, then waved his hand and said, "I'm so straightforward, I probably don't have any talent for it. I'd be happy to have a paintbrush."
Drawing is one of Steve Rogers' few hobbies. Although he hasn't drawn for many years, he now wants to draw something that interests him. With that thought, Steve glanced again at Eller's belt and mask.
"Then I'll have someone bring you your drawing tools in a bit," Eller replied. But then he remembered something important and asked:
"By the way, Captain, could you tell me about the final battle with Red Skull?"
"Oh, well, there's not much to say. I infiltrated the plane, then Schmidt discovered me and we got into a fight. During the fight, the Cosmic Cube fell out. Then I knocked Schmidt unconscious and finally crash-landed on an iceberg. You probably know what happened after that."
Steve briefly recounted to Eller what had happened back then.
These things were indeed going in the right direction... but Eller felt something was off.
If the Tesseract was lost during Captain America's fight with Red Skull, would Red Skull still be transported to some godforsaken planet to become the guardian of the Soul Stone?
If Hydra was able to find Captain America in advance, it means they can also find Red Skull.
Where is Red Skull now?
