Chapter 38 - Chapter 38: A Fortune, Fengshen's Order and Idol Stories

After seven days, everyone arrived in Springvale.

The large number of people and goods, along with rest breaks, slowed their progress.

Ryan went to visit the Spring Sprite, shared his journey, and retrieved the cart he had left at Draff's house.

Three days later, they reached Mondstadt City.

White pigeons stopped eating, then flew high, welcoming everyone.

Timmie looked angrily at the hateful adults.

"Sara! Diluc's personal signature from Dawn Winery, five-star review! Who else?"

"From the child Peipei in Springvale to the adult Draff, a five-star review as well."

Ryan jumped off the carriage after circling Angel's Share to unload the goods.

He walked a few steps to the counter and slapped the Mora receipts, order invoices, and review tags from both locations in front of Sara.

His face was full of pride.

As expected, his loud shouts attracted the attention of Sara and the customers!

"Is it true, Diluc?"

"That uncrowned king?"

The crowd whispered, some widening their eyes to verify the signature.

"No mistake! I once had a business deal with that important person, and it's definitely his signature!" a merchant exclaimed.

"Right! I just saw Ryan and Master Diluc chatting and laughing as they entered Mondstadt City, then went into Angel's Share!"

"Amazing, truly amazing!"

"Outsider, you've made it big!"

"The strongest delivery person is Ryan, who objects?"

"If you can't get the winery owner's signature and a good review, we won't acknowledge it!"

The crowd applauded and cheered, allowing Ryan to fully enjoy the glory of being in the spotlight, rewarding him for more than half a month of hard work.

"Ryan, you've done an excellent job, upholding the Good Hunter delivery person's excellent reputation and receiving unexpectedly fantastic reviews."

"Here's a 300,000 Mora bonus sponsored by the Adventurers' Guild!" Sara handed Ryan a Mora pouch tied with a festive bow.

This type of Mora pouch uses the same Alchemy as a backpack, allowing it to hold more Mora than its palm-sized exterior suggests.

Yet its weight is no more than a feather.

"Thank you! Thank you!" Ryan reached out to take it.

"Not so fast!" Sara said, "Our Good Hunter will add another 100,000 as a bonus to buy Master Diluc's and your signatures to hang on the wall. Are you willing?"

"Of course!" Having received much care from Sara, Ryan naturally reciprocated.

"Good! Then here's another 200,000 for travel expenses!" Sara took out another pouch and poured the Mora into the Mora pouch in Ryan's hand.

The clinking sound of money flowing truly brought joy.

With 600,000 Mora, plus the 3,000,000 paid by Diluc, and the several million earned in the previous month.

Ryan was truly a wealthy man with a vast fortune!

"Are you happy?" Sara asked kindly.

"Happy!" Ryan was puzzled.

"Then hurry to the back kitchen! The customers can't wait, can they?" Sara shouted to the people around her.

"Yes! Yes!"

"The strongest delivery person should hurry and cook, aiming to participate in the Mondstadt Cooking Competition and win 'Strongest Chef'!" the customers heckled.

"After being gone for so long, hurry up and make a coral fish!"

"I want braised pork!"

"I want boiled cabbage!"

"Today, just this once, can you make all the dishes on the menu? I want them all!"

Ryan made a bitter face: "I still want to rest!"

Everyone urged him, "Rest? You've been resting for over ten days already!"

Ryan was forcibly pushed into the kitchen by Sara, and someone helped him put on his hat.

A lively fish automatically landed on his cutting board, rolling its desperate white eyes.

One chop to stun it!

Ryan could now recall past memories; anything he had seen in videos and texts before his Transmigration could be clearly remembered, allowing him to review them multiple times and greatly improve his skills.

He spent a busy day as a chef.

Sitting in front of the counter, he caught his breath.

With the fame of obtaining Diluc's signature, being a mascot and being watched by people was also a great contribution.

The Mondstadters were quite considerate, knowing he was truly tired today, so they restrained themselves to ordering only one or two dishes, planning to come back for a big meal tomorrow.

However, they insisted he promise to suspend the rule of only making three dishes per day for this week.

"Oho! An otherworldly menu, any recommendations?"

Venti, smelling of alcohol, with hazy eyes, stumbled to the front of Good Hunter.

The unfamiliar Anemo and the vaguely familiar scent of spring water reminded him of a traveler from long ago and the cat-eared Damselette he tried to avoid nearby.

Ryan rubbed his eyes and stood up.

The young man before him had a neutral appearance, with the softness of a woman.

He had short black hair, with a small, gradient-green braid hanging down each temple.

He wore a loose green cloak and a green hat, with a white-to-yellow Cecilia pinned to the brim.

"You know me?" Seeing Ryan's eyes seemingly recognize him, Venti sobered slightly, a little confused.

"The famous Bard of Mondstadt, I've heard of him!" Ryan smiled, pointed to the menu, and changed the subject.

"I'm an otherworldly chef, I recommend you try coral fish and Hell Spicy Mapo Tofu!"

"The former is the Mondstadt people's favorite! The latter, the Mondstadt Idol, everyone who ate it said it was good!"

The Mondstadt Idol was naturally Barbara, the Priest of the Knights of Favonius, a singing Damselette who brought joy to the people with her voice.

Ryan later heard that she had secretly bought a portion of Mapo Tofu while wearing a hood.

At the time, no one noticed.

Later, her fan club discovered the meal box outside the church and went to great lengths to find out, causing the Idol great trouble.

Thus, the Mondstadt Idol Barbara fan club, led by Albert, formed a team to order Mapo Tofu.

They ordered Hell Spicy!

Hoping to get closer to their Idol.

The Hell Spicy sauce, made from Liyue's jueyun chili, could lift the spirits of a downcast Idol and also allow them to enter the Knights of Favonius as they wished.

As patients, they were roughly treated by ordinary physicians.

Later, this anecdote became the invisible advertisement for Good Hunter's Mapo Tofu.

"By the way, do you have money?" Ryan suddenly asked before going to cook.

Venti slapped the counter: "Who are you looking down on?!"

Then he looked at the price, "Why is it so expensive?"

"Um, can I sing a song and perform for an evening at Good Hunter to get it for free? I only want the coral fish, okay?"

Venti chuckled awkwardly, trying to hide his embarrassment.

"No, you can't!" Ryan shook his head, "However, I can make an exception if you complete a challenge…"

The originally disappointed Venti perked up: "Oh! What challenge? If it's singing, there's no song in Teyvat I don't know!"

Ryan showed a mischievous smile, seeking revenge on this idle, irresponsible Anemo God who couldn't even properly supervise his dependents, causing him to be rained on for a whole day in the canyon.

"The challenge is simple!"

"Eat a whole plate of Hell Spicy Mapo Tofu!"

"Any dish on the otherworldly menu, you can order, it's on me!"

Ryan patted his chest, very generous.

Venti looked hesitant; he always disliked cheese and anything sticky, and this Mapo Tofu, from the picture, also seemed to be in the sticky category.

He felt the two Mora in his pocket.

He decided to go for it!

"I accept the challenge, prepare all the dishes! The Bard who sings of all the world's flavors fears no foreign cuisine."

"Good!" Ryan readily agreed, "I'll serve you a coral fish first, as a free gift. The second dish will be Mapo Tofu! If you don't finish it, there will be no more dishes!"

Venti, smelling the aroma of the surrounding dishes, wiped his mouth, "A mere challenge, could it possibly stump a God's stomach?"

Very quickly, Ryan served a golden-red, sparkling, sweet and sour coral fish.

Venti sat down and savored it: "The taste is good, did you use these Materials and methods?"

"You didn't use too many Teyvat plants for garnish and to remove the fishy smell!"

Venti happily finished eating.

Free food always tastes better.

"Here comes the second dish!" Ryan brought out a bright red dish, looking like a painting of Hell's magma.

The pungent spicy smell wafted out, drawing the attention of the surrounding Mondstadters.

Customers who knew the inside story and understood this terrifying dish gave a thumbs up!

Which Adventurer came to Good Hunter and started the adventure of Hell food?

Oh! It's the Bard!

Venti's face stiffened; he held the spoon, hesitating to dig in.

This thing seemed even more terrifying than a God.
