Chapter 8 - Call of an Ideal

Are heritages supposed to last for centuries

As ambitions and dreams turn to ashes?

The ideals that could not set our souls free

Still linger by the unshed tears on our lashes

The many visions we saw

Were simply not meant to be

Yet we still foolishly decided to go

After a non – existing key...

To whom are our wishes now

For whom do we carry these dreams

Upon what feeling should we vow...

As honor drifts by the life streams?

***

When standing left without a throne

Becoming a tomb to lay your dreams on

As the justice scale carved of stone

Whimpers and is by mercilessness gone

This body has been weighed down

By doubts more painful than any wound

The truthful heart is left to drown

Never to the songs of treachery tuned

To whom should we call for

When there is no one we can trust

Why should we keep seeking more

When our hearts like our blades turn rust

***

No one will hear out our cry

For we did not release it in the first place

Why should we keep chasing the sky

If our steps are for this earth to embrace?

Sabina and Germanous Theme (But there are parts that fit Diarmuid too)
