Part 24: Entering the Elite Academy (End of Season One)
Part 24 – Entering the Elite Academy (End of Season One)
"Alright… I should go now."
Father: "Go, Tam. May God protect you."
Sister Eva: "I'll pray for you. I hope you succeed."
The old man hugged me tightly.
Old Man: "I hope you succeed, Tam. Make your father proud, and let the name of Breach shine everywhere."
After leaving his embrace, Sister Patolina gave me her final farewell.
Patolina: "I wish you success. May you achieve every goal you set, Tam."
Old Man: "Enough with the goodbyes. Hurry before you're late." He wiped a tear from the corner of his eye.
Finally, after all the emotional farewells, I stepped out of the church and boarded the carriage prepared for me by the church, bearing its holy emblem.
I waved to the old man and Sister Patolina one last time until they disappeared from sight.
"Huff… let's go. A new path begins."
We reached the border wall. The coachman presented the documents, but the guards refused entry.
Coachman: "Sir, I've told you—this is the church's carriage. A very important person is inside."
Border Guard: "No entry until the papers are verified. Some people forge church carriages to sneak in."
When they saw me step out, silence fell. I gestured for the coachman to stay quiet and handed the guard my Academy admission letter.
The guard checked It, then saluted.
Border Guard: "Forgive me, sir. I apologize for refusing you."
Me: "No, it's fine. You were just doing your duty."
After repeated apologies, I reentered the carriage.
Crossing into the Second Wall was breathtaking. Unlike the Third Wall, the roads weren't dirty or broken, the sky was clear, and the air was fresh.
As I gazed at the scenery, my mind drifted to recent events.
Finally, after the church confirmed my acceptance into the Elite Academy—Class S—the church revealed my identity.
Excerpt from the Church Newspaper:
"To the citizens of the Empire and followers of the Gods of Light: The child we spoke of is of the Breach lineage. By the grace of the Gods of Light, he has inherited the rare magic of wind. After three years of training under the church, he has now been accepted into the Six-Star Elite Class S of the Academy. This is proof of the greatness of the Gods of Light and the Goddess of Truth. His name is Tam Breach, raised In the church since childhood, faithful to the Goddess of Truth, and steadfast in his belief. Though nobles and the royal court sought to kill him, under the church's protection they failed. Any attempt against him is an affront to the Gods themselves."
The church exposed the nobles' schemes. My name spread across the Empire.
Commoners and nobles alike debated:
- Some said I was the miracle of the Gods of Light.
- Others claimed It was a lie—that I was secretly a noble's child, or the product of dark experiments with black mages.
Whatever the truth, I had sparked conflict. The church, the royal court, and the Four Great Houses were once again at odds.
The church even threatened war against the court if they tried to harm me—just like the Third Wall War, the last civil war between church and crown.
Because to the church, I was the miracle of the Gods of Light.
And harming me meant invoking divine wrath.
I was lost in thought when the coachman spoke.
Coachman: "Sir, we've arrived. Do you need me for anything else?"
Me: "No, you can go."
I stepped out of the carriage and looked at the Academy.
It stood in the northern sector of the Second Wall, heavily guarded by both church and crown. A third of the Second Wall was occupied by this Academy alone.
I picked up my suitcase and entered.
Students—boys and girls—were scattered around. Some chatted with friends, others sat on benches gazing at the scenery.
A few stared at me curiously. Of course they didn't recognize me—I wasn't from any noble family, nor had I ever attended their banquets. My anonymity was an advantage.
Without drawing attention, I headed toward the dormitory.
The Elite Dormitory (Level A)
Just as classes were ranked, so were the dorms. The highest dormitory was Level A, reserved for Class S students. Located in the western wing of the Academy, it housed only thirty students—fifteen boys and fifteen girls.
Two other large dorms existed in the eastern wing for Classes B and C. The Elite Dorm was heavily protected, with magical barriers separating boys and girls, only lifted in special circumstances.
The dorm had two entrances: one heavily guarded, and another hidden emergency door in the wall. I chose the hidden one—I didn't want anyone to see me.
I slipped inside and went straight to my room: Room 15.
My Room
I placed my suitcase down and looked around.
White walls. A single bed. A study desk. A bookshelf. A wardrobe. And a mirror.
I sat on the bed—it was soft.
"Finally… after six years, I have my own bed."
I quickly unpacked and put on my Academy uniform.
Looking into the mirror, I noticed how much I had changed. My hair was darker, my jawline sharper. I had grown to 178 cm, and at fourteen I already had a muscular build. Years of harsh training under Ziar had shaped me. Aside from Henry and Den, no one else in Class S had a physique like mine.
The uniform was white, with black trim on the collar and cuffs. On the chest, near the heart, was the insignia: Class S, Dorm A, Six Stars, encircling the Academy's crest.
"Alright… better head to class before I'm late."
The Classroom
I entered the Class S room, located at the end of the first floor. Other classes were spread across the upper floors.
I glanced at the main characters seated inside, careful not to draw attention.
I chose a single desk by the window. All desks were single, but I had always loved sitting by the window—separate from the crowd.
Settling in quietly, I looked around. How could anyone ignore such fascinating figures?
The Main Characters
- Prince Estio, the Crown Prince: Blonde hair, blue eyes, wheat-toned skin, and a charming face. He spoke with his lifelong protector.
- John, the Prince's Guardian: A commoner with immense strength. Kind-hearted, loyal, and brave—he had risked his life many times for the prince.
- Den Hyper: Muscular, brown hair and eyes, wheat-toned skin. Hardworking, competitive, and impulsive. Rival to the story's hero, Henry.
- Selif of the Camille family: A healer with green hair, pale skin, and forest-green eyes. His appearance was alluring, almost deceptive.
- Rose Tarin: Daughter of the genius scholar Carl Tarin. Wore her signature glasses, freckles across her face, yet undeniably attractive.
- Hardy Melodia: Known as the most beautiful girl in the Empire. Daughter of Ann Melodia, famed as the most beautiful woman of the Empire. Long red hair symbolized her family's fire magic. Stunningly beautiful, though destined for a tragic death—a reason the book itself was so famous.
Next was Princess Adriana—long black hair, porcelain-like face, pale skin, and deep black eyes. Her body was small compared to Agnes Melodia's alluring figure, but her beauty was undeniable. Her icy expression earned her the title "The Most Arrogant Girl in the Empire." She too was destined for a tragic death.
I always called her Princess Adriana.
Damn… the most beautiful girls of the story and the Empire were all in my class.
Then came William Jordan, one of the most attractive boys in the story—and one of the most dangerous antagonists. Gray hair, gray eyes, shy in appearance… but deceptive.
Henry, the hero, and his lover Denrys were absent. No surprise—they were probably busy with their usual romance.
Finally, the teacher arrived—Marin Delovar, one of the most captivating women in the story, and one of Henry's lovers.
Fans speculated endlessly about her relationship with Henry. The author hinted at her affection, but In the end, she disappeared from the narrative.
Marin: "I am your instructor for Magic Theory. I hope we'll have a good year together. Since today the Academy follows its old tradition, let's begin with introductions and roll call."
Just as she began, the door burst open.
Henry Flor: "Sorry, teacher, I'm late."
Marin and nearly all the girls—except Adriana—were instantly captivated by Henry's charm. Black eyebrows, pale skin, muscular build… the male version of Adriana, and the most attractive character In the story.
Marin: "It's fine. just don't be late again."
Henry entered, followed by Denrys. Roll call continued.
Finally, my name was called.
Marin: "Tam Breach?"
I stood.
"Yes, I am Tam Breach, teacher—and classmates!"
Everyone stared at me in shock. Marin included.
Of course they did. It was their first time seeing me. My surname, Breach, was infamous for having no magic. Yet I possessed rare wind magic. And I was a commoner. And the boy the church newspaper had written about.
Marin: "Ah… alright, next."
The bell rang, ending class.
As I stood, a hand reached out to me. It was William.
William: "Hello, Tam. My name is William Jordan."
I shook his hand.
"Hello, William. I'm Tam Breach."
William: "I heard you're the boy blessed by the gods. I'm glad. After all, you and I are followers of the church. We'd give our lives for it, wouldn't we?"
"Of course. You're right."
William: "Good. If you ever need anything, come to me."
He left.
Unlike Den Hyper, William wasn't from a noble family. He was adopted by Jordan, commander of the church's army. But he was also the greatest antagonist of the story—the one who caused the deaths of many main characters, even killing his own father.
He had reason: his father had murdered his real mother.
"Huff… better not think about it. Best to stay away from him before he kills me too."
Second Bell – Combat Training Hall
Joe Hyper, of the Hyper family:
"I am your instructor for martial arts and combat skills."
"First, we'll categorize magic. Everyone with similar types, group together."
He read the list. Everyone found their group—except me.
He frowned, confused. "Why is one missing?"
I spoke up.
"Excuse me, teacher. Isn't wind magic listed?"
Now everyone understood why I was here.
Tam Breach.
