Chapter 153 - Nature's Counterattack(2)

"It's coming!"

Staring at the sea, Riley could already see the silhouettes of the Gyarados. Fortunately, Gu Yuan had raised the alarm early, allowing the evacuation to begin immediately.

With the power of Pokémon, the speed of the evacuation was far beyond anything Gu Yuan had witnessed in his previous life. This was exactly what Gu Yuan wanted to see; otherwise, if some idiots were surrounded, he would be reluctant to intervene, even if he had the ability to save them. After all, for people who were mentally slow, Gu Yuan would be more inclined to let them "restart" (reincarnate).

Despite the successful evacuation, Riley and the others still had to stand their ground here.

Judging by the Gyarados's attitude, even if the people here retreated, they would not let the matter rest. They would continue their attack toward the inland, easily catching up to the town residents.

To protect them and others, Riley had to hold off this group of Gyarados, waiting for reinforcements to arrive.

Without the aid of "talk-no-jutsu", Gu Yuan and the others could only choose to defeat this group of Gyarados by force.

Thankfully, Agatha had already responded to Gu Yuan's message with four words: As fast as possible!

Gu Yuan only hoped that after this attack was over, the residents living nearby would reduce their exploitation of nature and treat the Magikarp kindly. Otherwise, a greater disaster would surely come one day.

"Everyone, retreat! These Gyarados are going to use Surf to flood this place! Prepare the ship bombs!"

Seeing the sea level begin to rise, Riley roared out the instruction.

The next moment, all the Trainers quickly retreated.

In the distance, the leading Gyarados directly unleashed Surf, combining its power with the other Gyarados to form a massive tidal wave that came crashing toward them.

In this moment, Gu Yuan deeply understood what a natural disaster was.

The small town was rapidly swallowed up. Even the ships, which looked like behemoths, were swept up like ants in the face of this onslaught. The bombs detonated, splashing seawater, but they could not stop the encroachment of the tidal wave.

As the wave receded, the entire small town was submerged, with only the tips of the rooftops sticking out. Even though Gu Yuan and the others were positioned high up, the seawater quickly reached them.

"Trainers with Ice-type moves, all attack together! First, freeze the encroaching seawater to force the Gyarados into a direct fight!"

Riley's voice rang out, and his Dewgong and Starmie were the first to strike. Blizzard was unleashed simultaneously, freezing the seawater the moment it was touched and spreading rapidly.

Seeing this, the other Trainers followed suit, instructing their Pokémon to attack.

Icy Wind, Ice Beam, Blizzard, and various other moves surged out, forcefully checking the momentum of the sea's charge.

"Gu Yuan, you have freedom of action. Do your best to defeat or stop these Gyarados, and help rescue the injured simultaneously."

"Once this matter is over, the League will inevitably be aware of everything that happened here. I believe such a thing will not happen again."

"I hope you will live to see that day. You are the most likely person to survive today."

"If possible, I hope you can let me know when it happens."

While releasing all his Pokémon, Riley called Gu Yuan to his side and spoke slowly. Riley's meaning was very simple, encapsulated in one sentence: Leave if the situation turns unfavorable.

Gu Yuan felt Riley said this for two reasons: first, it was Riley's nature, an unconscious desire to protect the League's promising young talent; and second, because his master was Agatha.

"The situation is not yet that bleak. We will see when the time comes; the battle is about to begin."

Without giving a direct answer, Gu Yuan had Alakazam use Teleport to take him away. Watching Gu Yuan appear and disappear on the battlefield, Riley couldn't help but smile.

"Old partners, it's time to fight!"

"Roar!"

"Dewgong, use Sheer Cold!"

Seeing the massive number of Gyarados rushing toward them, Riley had Dewgong launch the first strike. Ice crystals were released. The usually inaccurate Sheer Cold easily enveloped a large group of Gyarados this time. The next moment, these Gyarados were frozen into ice sculptures, and even if they thawed out, they would have no strength left to fight.

"Alakazam, Annihilape, you two circle around me and fight according to my commands."

"Ditto, transform into Sylveon. Then, both of you use Calm Mind, and use Baton Pass to transfer your power to Alakazam and Charizard."

"Charizard, gain altitude and use Hurricane for interference! Avoid direct confrontation with these Gyarados!"

A rapid sequence of commands rang out. At this moment, Gu Yuan no longer concealed his telepathy and fought with all his might. There were many Trainers with Flying-type Pokémon, just like Gu Yuan. These people, like him, instructed their Pokémon to fly into the air, helping to tie up the energy of the Gyarados.

Hurricane swept through, instantly transforming into water spouts upon contact with the seawater, trapping several Gyarados. With the momentum from Swift, Annihilape's Rage Fist was already elevated to its maximum power. Gu Yuan focused on the Senior Rank Gyarados, trying to weaken their fighting strength as much as possible.

On the front line, Riley's Dewgong was like a war god. The ice surface frozen by Sheer Cold was Dewgong's perfect battleground.

Unleashing Blizzard, Riley commanded Dewgong to continuously expand the ice surface and simultaneously freeze Intermediate Rank Gyarados.

Seemingly sensing Dewgong's immense strength, several Senior Rank Gyarados surrounded it, intending to trap it before letting the Ace Rank Gyarados attack.

"Starmie, use Hydro Pump!"

The moment these Gyarados approached, Riley's voice sounded again, and Starmie, lurking in the sea, immediately launched its attack. With the boost from the seawater, the power of Hydro Pump was amplified many times. A single strike sent several Senior Rank Gyarados flying.

Realizing they had been ambushed, the remaining Gyarados wanted to retreat.

"Starmie, use Surf to pursue! Then use Psychic to drive the seawater and defeat all these Gyarados!"

Unfortunately, Gu Yuan gave the Gyarados no chance and immediately commanded Starmie to attack. Seawater condensed, and Starmie stood on the crest of the wave. Psychic surged forth, driving the seawater like a sea dragon and swallowing these Gyarados one by one.

In this war, besides Riley, there was another Ace Rank Trainer named Lando. Compared to Riley, Lando was weaker, possessing only one Ace Rank Blastoise. The twin cannons on the back of this Blastoise continuously fired, defeating Junior Rank, Intermediate Rank, and Senior Rank Gyarados one by one.

Coupled with the attacks of the other people, it seemed as if the human side had the upper hand. But Gu Yuan knew very well that everything right now was an illusion. The nine Ace Rank Gyarados were rushing toward them, and the Gyarados of unknown strength had yet to attack.
