Chapter 47 - Moving In (Slowly)

The elevator doors opened to reveal bags and suitcases from Hye-rin's hands. Joon-hyuk looked up from the living room sofa, brows arching slightly.

"What is all that?"

"My stuff," she said simply, hauling them across the marble floor. "You told me to start moving in, remember?"

"I said some of your things," he replied dryly, setting down his tablet. "Not your entire apartment."

She gave him a bright, unapologetic smile. "Consider it… partial migration."

He stood and followed her as she began placing items around the room—a few books, a throw pillow that definitely didn't match his minimalist aesthetic, and a small potted plant shaped like a bunny.

"What is that?" he asked flatly.

"Her name's Dori," Hye-rin said, adjusting the pot. "She brings life to this place."

"This place doesn't need life," he muttered, watching her swap one of his neutral cushions for a pink one. "It needs order."

She glanced back at him with a grin. "And that's why you need me. I balance out your… robot energy."

"Robot energy?"

"Mm-hm. Cold, logical, unbothered. If you were a heater, you'd probably freeze people instead."

He shot her a look that should've been intimidating—but the corner of his mouth betrayed him. "You seem to talk a lot for someone who just moved into a billionaire's home rent-free."

She raised a brow. "So, I'm officially moved in then?"

He sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I should've been more specific."

"Too late," she said cheerfully, heading toward her new room.

As she disappeared inside, he glanced at the little potted plant again, then back at the closed door. The faint sound of her humming drifted through the hall, soft and easy—so unlike the sterile quiet he was used to.

For the first time in months, the house didn't feel like a showroom.

It felt… lived in.

And that realization unsettled him far more than he wanted to admit.
