Chapter 12 - First Meeting After One Night Stand

Caelen's eyes wandered around the building filled with luxurious furniture and big chandeliers. It looked more like a high end hotel for billionaires than an entertainment studio.

"He is actually the founder of this studio, so we don't really have a say in whatever he decides," Arsha continued. Then she suddenly turned around and startled Caelen. "Try not to talk back. Just answer whatever he asks. You understand me, right?" Her eyes were fixed on Caelen intently.

"Yeah, I understand." Caelen's answer prompted her to twist the knob and open the door. The big pictures of Soren on the wall caught Caelen's attention. Soren!

Then his eyes met with the very person in the pictures. His breath was caught in his chest, and his eyes froze at the sight.

Soren's eyes rounded, they stood frozen, looking at each other as if time had stopped. The person he had been looking for for five years was standing right in front of him. Soren slowly approached Caelen.

"He is your new manager. You can interview him and decide on whether to hire him or not." Neither of them heard what Arsha just said.

Relax, he wouldn't recognize me. Caelen's breath stumbled with Soren's approaching steps that echoed in the wide office. It's been five years, and I was just one of his night stands. He wouldn't remember me. Caelen's heart drummed under his chest.

Soren was dazed at the sight, wondering if Caelen was truly standing in front of him.

"He is a Beta with quite a good academic record..."

"Beta?" Soren interrupted her.

"Too stunning for being a Beta, right? I was baffled too, but his medical reports confirmed it," Arsha commented.

A Beta! Are you kidding me? Soren turned to Caelen. So you got fake medical reports to get the job?

"What did you say his name is?" Soren asked. His eyes never left the sight of Caelen.

"Caelen."

"Caelen!" Soren extended his hand. "Nice to meet you, Caelen."

No wonder his locket's initial is C.

"Nice to meet you," Caelen's voice was weak, and he took his time before grabbing Soren's hand for a handshake. He was sweating badly.

Soren tightened his grip on his hand and pulled him into his arms, at which Caelen gasped as his eyes rounded. "It's better to get comfortable around each other since you are going to work for me," Soren whispered tightening his grip and taking a deep breath sniffing Caelen's smell. Caelen struggled to push him away and finally got out of his grip. "Are you a pervert..."

Arsha, who was stunned by Soren's action, who hated anyone touching him coughed quickly to stop Caelen from talking further.

"Caelen this is President Soren CEO of Orvane Studio and the artist you will be looking after," Arsha's tone was professional.

"That locket!" Caelen mumbled unintentionally as he saw his locket hanging in front of Soren's chest.

"You like it?" Soren asked. "Others also complimented me for this. It looks good on me."

He wasn't wrong, with his visuals, anything around his neck would look pretty.

He recognized his locket.

"No random talking," Arsha whispered to Caelen and turned to Soren. "You can ask him questions..."

"He is hired," Soren cut her off. "I like him."

Yeah, I have your ideal type of look, you bastard! Caelen knitted his eyebrows.

"Sign the contract. The longer the better."

Arsha was dumbfounded by Soren's unfamiliar behavior, not to mention his gorgeous warm smile that was too rare to get a glimpse of. He looked angry every time she met him then how come he couldn't stop smiling today?

Maybe he knows him! Arsha gestured to the sofa. "Have a seat Caelen. We can go over the contract conditions."

Caelen walked to the sofa. His legs felt heavy as they were numb, and he settled down.

Arsha slid the file across the table. Caelen stole a glance at Soren, who was still looking at him, and turned to her.

"Are there any special conditions you would like to add?" Arsha asked politely.

"Not really," Caelen faked a faint smile, looking at her. "I just want leave once a month."

It's not like I have another choice. By the interest he is showing in me, he doesn't seem to remember me. Caelen let out a deep breath.

Why? Why are you here now of all times when I am back in showbiz? Are you trying to bring me down again? Soren's hands were tucked in his pockets, but his eyes traced Caelen's face as he was talking to Arsha.

But thanks for coming. I felt like it would take me decades to find you. I was running out of patience. Good that you came before I went crazy.

"President Soren!" He snapped out at her voice. "He is ready to sign the contract."

"Alright, proceed with it."

"Don't you have to head out?" Arsha asked Soren. "You are getting late for your schedule."

"Yeah, then I will leave you to it," he scratched his eyebrow. "Come to work as soon as you can." He instructed Caelen and walked out slowly, Arsha's voice faded behind the door.

"You can come for the job starting tomorrow. Let me explain your duties."

Soren turned to the closed door behind him as he clenched his hands that were still in his pockets. He let out a deep breath as his eyes grew moist. He touched the wooden door with a longing in his chest to touch Caelen.

He straightened up and walked away, taking out his phone to call someone. "Send someone for tailing. I will send you the information. You shouldn't let him catch you, but you can't lose him either, at all costs."

Soren had built his own team of investigators and security guards to make sure his father wouldn't be able to interfere, the team that was only loyal to Soren.

"Send me his profile information." Soren messaged Arsha and received a CV with a photo at the top.
