Evelyne continued to stare at Daniel, demanding an explanation from him. How could this man always know when she was at home when she had never told him?
At first, the man seemed unwilling to answer the question, saying it was ridiculous. He reasoned that he only came thinking that Evelyne must be at home. And it was a coincidence that she was indeed at home.
Of course, she didn't immediately believe that excuse, because she thought that a coincidence couldn't happen several times.
"That's not true. Earlier, I went to the hospital and asked about a patient named Luke Moretti. But the nurse said that he had gone home that morning, which is why I came here thinking that you must be at home," he replied.
That answer did sound reasonable, and it meant that Daniel had come to the hospital first, thinking that Luke was still there. But it turned out that he had already gone home, and that was when Daniel came to her house.
