Iris:
I wanted to give her a befitting response, but then I remembered that Markus wanted to surprise Zoe. If I told Lady Vivian anything, she would run straight to Zoe and ruin it.
So I simply shook my head at her, giving her a silent warning not to go there.
"I'm asking you something," she insisted as she watched me try to get past her.
Finally, I turned to her, nodded, and gave her a tired look.
"We live in the same house. Can't we talk to each other?" I said casually, trying not to sound overly defensive or rude.
She looked at me arrogantly, as if she were judging me far too harshly.
"What now? Should I go, or did you get your answer?" I asked tiredly.
At last, she stepped aside, and I walked past her.
When I returned to the room, I saw that Kash was already ready to leave for the office.
"What happened?" he asked when he noticed I had been staring at him for a while.
"Nothing," I responded tiredly.
