Kash:
The minute Iris broke into my arms, my body felt a wave of comfort, but also guilt.
For her to come all the way to my room to seek comfort felt like my fault.
She did not have to go through that. If anything, she should have lifted her head and found me right beside her.
But I was not there. Why? Because I had hurt her in the past.
"I wished I could tell her that," I said to my wolf while I stared into her beautiful eyes.
Then something happened, and I kissed her.
After so long, she did not push me away.
The kiss lasted only a few minutes, but I knew she needed comfort, not intimacy.
I refused to take advantage of how vulnerable she was.
I laid her down in the bed with me and did not say another word.
I had turned off the lights.
I could tell she did not feel entirely comfortable, even admitting that she was in my arms or that she had been getting close to me.
"You can leave when I fall asleep," I told her, in case she thought I was trapping her.
